tell me a little about your new year's resolution! do you have a definitive plan? did you complete this year's? be as detailed as you want. if you feel like your resolution(s) aren't cs appropriate, please do not post them!
for me, i'd like to continue going to the gym regularly. i feel like it really helps with my mood!

I feel like I kept to my resolution in 2024 to draw more regularly and attempt to get outside of my comfort zone; I used to get quite hung up on everything being perfect and I was afraid to make mistakes which was holding me back quite a lot, but I feel like I was able to get over that mindset in 2024 and my art has been better for it. I also improved my understanding of anatomy - watched a lot of guides and filled two sketchbooks full of studies so I’m happy about that.
This year I have a few goals/resolutions:
- Have a table/start selling my ceramics + jewellery at art fairs
- Run more regularly and get back to my previous fitness level (the habit has lapsed and I’ve been running sporadically recently, want to change that this year)
- Focus on improving my shading/colouring skills
Happy new year everyone, wishing you good things in 2025!

I cannot recall if I had any resolutions for 2024 ... So I don't think I fulfilled any even if I did make some ...
I don't really want to make unreasonable statements this year either ... Due to my current health it feels like I'd just be making lies and stress myself more than what life already does. I'd be happy if I simply can manage to pull off my training to try making my broken hip not hurt too badly. And if I can manage to start going out on longer walks more regularly. And it'd be great if I could figure out a course of action with either going back to school and study something or finding a new job; or both. Since my current job won't change and won't make my health any better if I keep staying there.
So I guess just trying to improve my health, would be reasonable enough to focus on.

{ I think my resolution last year was to get in shape, but I feel like I say that every year and give up after a short while haha. at some point it just became "survive" and I managed that :] ♡
{ this year I just want to keep improving. 2024 was hard in many aspects, but a lot of good things happened. I made friends who mean the world to me, and I want to keep telling them so. I started slowly pulling myself out of the emotional spiral I've been in since 2023, and started talking to someone about my issues, and I want to really keep that up this year, hopefully with a licensed therapist now that my work insurance is active. I just want to keep getting better. that's my most important task for 2025. ♡
{ as for less irl resolutions I really want to be more active here this year, if only in the background! I've had my rat hoard in a reorganization mess for too long and haven't done enough work actually updating the rat name guide, not to mention I kinda miss yapping about CS on my Tumblr haha. I want to make real progress on both this year-- even if it doesn't get all done, I just want to actually spend time on them :] my rats and this community have been a part of my life for over 13 years now, and I miss it in many ways. maybe 2025 is my old is new year haha, between the site I grew up on and the fandoms started before my time. ♡

holli • adult • rat king
rat name guide • flightrising
mostly inactive • please be patient with me
so show me the sea, and i'll take you to mars ♡

self-care is my #1 resolution... i've struggled to take care of myself for so long but i'm doing what i can to pull myself out of that pit now. i've finally made a habit out of brushing my teeth daily and doing my skincare, both HUGE improvements over how i've basically spent my entire life. plus eating healthier and just.. treating my body right. also re-doing my entire wardrobe!! i hate making unrealistic resolutions i know i won't follow through on so that's pretty much it for me.

Motivation really doesn’t like me

Same as well as I just don’t really believe in the concept. If nothing else it used to always make me push things off. Like if there’s something I wanted to do in November “oh I might as well start in the new year”.
But, regardless, it’s not really a resolution as much as I just want to keep up what I’m already doing. 2024 was a year of lots of changes for me and I feel like I’m finally in a place where I just don’t want more to change! Sorry to sound cheesy
