✦ Please be sure to follow the design rules laid out on both this thread the main thread, and do not remove the "(unapproved)" sign until your design is approved.
✧ You must have a blueprint item to create a custom Vel'ani. (To find out how to obtain a free standard blueprint every month, keep reading!)
✦ Vel'ani created via blueprint start at rank 0 and may have up to a total of 6 stat points. Only 3 of those points can be in any single given stat.
✦ To make things easier, please be sure to clearly list what traits and stats your Vel has in the first post!
✧ Once you've created your Vel'ani, you must post the form below on this thread to get the design approved.
✦ You may use items that apply specific edits to existing Vel’ani at the same time as a blueprint so the Vel has that trait right off the bat. Just be sure to post the required form on the archive update thread as well!
✧ Please do not assign your design an ID number yourself. This will be assigned when it’s approved! You don’t have to add this to the image if you don’t want to, but it is necessary for the archive, so keep track of it. A Vel’s ID number will never change unless a mistake was made when it was assigned.

✦ There are two types of blueprints you can obtain. These are:

✦ Standard blueprints, which only allow you to use traits provided on the base when creating your new Vel'ani
✦ Rare blueprints, which allow you to add or edit traits based on how many points are on the blueprint (+1 for one edit, etc)
✧ One edit, generally speaking, may be used to add or alter one trait (or one pair of limbs, when applicable.) For example: one edit would allow you to change your Vel’s tail into a custom fishlike tail, or to give them one pair of wings. Two pairs of wings or two fishlike tails would cost two edits.)
✦ There are some small edits which are allowed on Standard Vel’ani. These are:

✦ expression edits
✦ weight edits
✦ scars/amputations, so long as they are done respectfully
✦ clothes/accessories, though these should be done on a separate ref after the main design is approved
✦ disability aids - such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and prosthetics - so long as they are recognizable as such. these can be included in the main design before approval so long as they’re the kind of thing the Vel would usually have on them.
✦ Minor lineart adjustments in the event certain traits clip awkwardly (examples: erasing only the parts of the base fur that clip out under the "shaggy collar" extra, or moving the vents or ears slightly when using lop ears so the vents remain at least partially visible.)
✧ The only preexisting trait Vel’ani created via blueprint may not use is “pupil (amnesis)”. This trait may only be obtained with use of a specific item (Phial of Amnesis) which can only be applied to existing Vel’ani.

✦ Once per calendar month, so long as you have an archive post, you can post one form to claim a free Standard blueprint. This post is your proof of ownership, make sure to add it to your archive!
✧ You can claim the blueprint and use it in the same post, just be sure to fill out both forms.
