@Ikaaaaaaaaa: Being a fraternal twin myself, my brother and I are very close and I can't imagine something like that happening. I don't think I'd want to go on. :C Wonderful, wonderful story. <3

@Never: Aw...I'm very close to my pets as well. I'd be beyond heartbroken if that-...well of course that's not going to happen, but you get the point. I mean, if I lost them. xD This was a wonderful story to read~ =3

Red is flame, blue is ice, but the hottest flames burn in a shade of sapphire
"Tell me again how our parents died."
"Now, why do you want to hear that story? It always makes you cry."
"But I don't want to forget how they died, and crying just shows that I still love them."
Wolf had ruffled my hair affectionately then;
"You have to let them go eventually Jacks, you can't hang on to the past forever." I began to cry furiously, balling my hands into fists and hitting him again and again, screaming at him, I couldn't believe he was saying that about our parents.
"You don't love them anymore do you!? You act like you do, but you just want me to forget about them! How could you!?" Wolf just sat calmly knowing I would calm down soon. He smiled gently at me;
"I'll always love them Jacks, and I miss them, I really do, but that doesn't mean I have to be sad about them being gone all the time. They would want me, you, both of us to still be happy and make the best of our lives. If anything their deaths should show you just how short life can be and you should live yours as best as you can."

His coughing started when I was in 9th grade, He was 19. The coughs got worse and worse but he always smiled and said "I'm fine, lets find a movie to watch tonight." I remember the day he couldn't get out of bed, his whole body shaking with the force of his coughs. I had stood in the doorway crying, watching him wither away before my eyes. I had hid my tears as best as I could but he always noticed. He would tell me to come sit on the bed with him and he would ruffle my hair the way he did when I was little. Every morning he would tell me "I'll see you after school" and every day I would worry that when I got back he would be gone. I told him I was going to call the doctor but he always took the phone from me and laid it on the side-table. He said it was just a cough, a tickle in his throat that wouldn't go away, I didn't believe him, not really, but I knew he was telling himself that lie as well so that he could feel like he had a chance when he didn't. On the day he died he had told me that same thing "see you after school" but when I got back he was gone. I was scared I didn't know what to do. I fell on top of him and laid there, not letting go of him until the counselors from my school came to find me. They tore me away from him and tried to turn me away, told me not to look, that everything was OK. I couldn't believe them when I knew I had no family left. I couldn't believe them when I knew my brother was gone for good.

Some years later when I was out of college I returned to that house, the one where he had died. I didn't know what I expected to find, but when I met those golden eyes, the eyes of that young boy playing in the front lawn, and the boy's hair red as flame, I knew my brother had found his way back to earth. I smiled at the young child, a few tears coming to my eyes.
Though they may burn with the same heat, the new flame knows not that the other flame existed
The boy just glanced right over me, he did not know me. I don't know why I expected him to react. The next thing I saw though made me sure that Wolf was in this little boy somewhere. The boy had turned to care for his baby sister, too young to even be out of the stroller. She was about 5 years younger than him, the same distance apart as Wolf and I had been.

I wasn't supposed to cry.
Honestly, the guy is supposed to be strong,
supposed to support their girl with all of their life.
If I had merely paid just a note more of attention,
then maybe it would have worked out that way.

"Can I just know why?" My voice was strained, I had blinked back my tears, and I didn't want her to think me weak, even if I felt that way. My smile, had disappeared, but by this point, it was the last thing in my mind though I wondered what she noticed within me, that made her smile. It was disgusting, I suppose, how much I cared for her, and how little it seemed to reflect in her. Yet, I saw that the smile was one of sorrow, one that hid the tears that I saw for a moment in her gorgeous eyes.
"I wish I knew."

The wind blew, and I couldn't understand it, because she melted away, the last thing I saw of her being her smiling eyes, a single tear falling from them to the ground below.
"But I loved you..."

The people in the white suits came for me. It was frightening, but I didn't care. She was gone, and she was all that had mattered to me.
How could they ever tell me that she wasn't real? How could they dare to tell me that the one that I had loved, the one that I did love, had died, years ago?
It was then, that I heard it. The truth, that I never had wanted to face, the truth that I never had allowed myself to face.
Her voice was carried in the wind, heard only by me, and I could
see her smiling eyes as she seemed to speak.
"Please, just let me go..."

This thread is already filled with so many great stories, everyone! I wish I could comment on everything. ouo And I decided I'd actually continue this story. :3 Continuing from old thread~

"Run? What? C'mon, just tell me your name. Get in the car, I'll call in sick for work and I can take you to the hospital, okay?" Urbana gingerly intertwined her fingers with his, in a friendly manner, and attempted tugging him down the asphalt. But Kallen stayed put, his feet rooted to the ground, a firm foundation.

"We must run," he repeated, his eyes intent on her face. She turned as blue as his hoodie, and smacked her suddenly dry lips.

"Why do you keep saying that? There's nothing to run from..." Her voice was shaky and unsure, nothing strict about the tone. She stared at the ground as if it were her very first love before she glanced back up again. "We can drive."

Kallen shook his head and released Urbana's hand, reminding her that they were still intact. He bolted, his arm's pain lingering, his sense of smell wandering away aimlessly. He felt the warm, sticky redness trickle down his face and arm as his feet cried out in pain from the chase. He couldn't take much more, but the man pressed on. However, as fast as he was running, Urbana's foot was practically created from lead as she hopped in her Toyota and slammed the accelerator. She caught up to the male quickly, and threw the passanger door open, cursing loudly.

"Get in!" She screamed, demanding it. Kallen obeyed by lunging in the car, shutting the door tightly behind him as the duo raced down the tar.

After a chorus of squeals and screeches from the tires and brakes, Urbana slowed the car and began to speak.

"Now, tell me your name and what your deal is."

"I am Kallen. There are people after me," he sighs.

"Crap!" The girl mutters before continuing the conversation. "You're an outlaw aren't you?!"

"No, ma'am, I'm a perfectly fine man. It's the outlaws that're chasing me."

"So, you're a bad cop?" She questions with a smirk.

"Just an ordinary man, ma'am."

"Quit calling me 'ma'am', I'm no oldie, got it? And do me a favor and pull down your hood, you're creeping me out." Urbana scuffs.

"Sorry...girly. No oldie for sure." He chuckles a bit. "But I'm afraid my hoodie will have to stay on." Kallen had his hood wrapped tight around his faces so you could hardly see his face, and along with the darkness of the setting, you couldn't see much but the seemingly blue shirt anyhow.

"Seriously, take the thing off." She retorted.

"I can't, gi-" Urbana cut him off and tore the hood down, and screamed with what she saw. He was /glowing/. The blue of the shirt dissapeared once it slipped off his head; it was the glow from the man that made the clothing look the way it did. He was a teal and black male man, with sharp features and a soft but frightened eye. Kallen cursed angrily and pulled the hoodie back up, surrounding his head.

Urbana's eyes were afixed on the strange beast named Kallen, despite the fact they were on the empty road. Thankfully the world was a lonley place, or they both wouldn't been hurt.

Thank you, GigglePie, Snow~! <3 Your story is great, Giggle, but creepy in a way. You mixed the well-written and fear perfectly. The story makes a great blend^^. And Lennie, howow, that was a fantastic story. Sometimes I think we all feel like the boy.

As Urbana gradually spilled down her plush seat to where she was face to face with the pedals of the Toyota, obviously displaying to Kallen that she had fainted, he jabbed his good arm towards the middle pedal--the brake--and stopped the car. Reaching for the gearshift, to put it in park, he winced.

The passenger door--his door--was open. But no one stood, bloodthirsty, in the darkness. Somehow the noise and the fact that the door was open had passed him. The black air ebbed inside the vehicle as it swarmed the boy's cut. /Oohhh/, how it stung. But this was no black air, of course this had avoided Kallen's thoughts as he was extremely subdued with attempting to reach Urbana to pull her up. As he eventually did so, he turned back to his seat to catch a glimpse of the swirling, putrid blackness. It twirled and twirled like a dance and Kallen watched, awestruck, as it turned into a dark circle of gas hovering in front of him.

As he lay a bulky finger on it, he realized this gas was no gas. In fact, this gas was actually a solid. Kallen returned his finger and stared at it, astonished. It was a purple-blue color, and was freezing. The black circle somehow managed to constrict his digit with out wrapping around it.

This black circle, this /dark/ circle, vanished into thin air as Kallen watched a black haze float to the navy blue sky with the deep purple clouds. Astonished, he quietly shut his door and sat still in the car seat.

Hush.
