Please stop trying to dupe new users out of their new pets

I can't believe i have to say this but older CS users are trying to message my siblings and give them very very low valued pets for their christmas 18 pets. my siblings don't know any better and i have to tell them that its not worth it. they don't even post on the forums and they are brand new users, how do people find them??? im just about to start reporting people. this is upsetting.

unfortunately this is a pretty common practice around this time of the year. old users that are well acquainted with rarities can usually find new/inactive users through the forum's list of online users or just by searching pet IDs. they are very crafty in finding these users that don't know any better. it's pretty gross behavior, but unfortunately it happens all too often. id suggest telling your siblings to put their valuable pets into locked groups until they know what they are worth. sorry this is happening!!

even im a bit new (i played only for abit in 2018) and i just found out how to lock them so i told them how. its just a bit frustrating having to keep watch. thanks for your help!

It's unacceptable scammer behavior, I literally hope every single old player that's doing this gets banned, these people have no shame!

I agree it’s really frustrating. I wish there was more that could be done about it
But as long as the user didn’t explicitly say “this is fair, my pet is worth so much more than yours” there’s not much that can be done about it.
I think the best thing we can do is keep an eye on the trade advice thread and spread awareness! I’m glad to hear that you’re helping your siblings. When I was new there wasn’t as much resources as there are now and I fell for some pretty bad trades.

If you suspect someone scammed/ninjad someone you can report them! I personally just block people if I have a suspicion they’ve ripped off a new user. I don’t want to interact with them and I definitely don’t want them to trade me.

Sorry but we don't allow rants on CS. If your sibling feels they have been scammed they can send in a report to staff so we can assist. Please keep in mind it is not against the rules to send an unfair trade. Please block users you do not want to see trades from.
