Prompt:

It's Winter at Little Lizard Stables, and being situated in the United Kingom means that our Winters are...dull. The sun is low and way too bright, the air is freezing and there is a very large chance that we'll have rain instead of snow.

Bundle up when doing your chores because it's miserable out there!

Buuuut just because the weather is dull doesn't mean we have to be.

Snow is a rare occurrence for us but when it does happen we are ready and we make the most out of it and our Belgians love nothing more than to give sleigh rides. Have to be quick though because the snow usually doesn't last long, sometimes for only a few short hours.

But the snow melting has its perks as the horses love to pick up any stray snowman noses.

Plus we love decorating for Christmas. Lights top to bottom and a huge Christmas tree in the barn topped with a star. Don't forget the horses festive halters and blankets.

Our pony club do lots of fun Christmas activities too such as performing a nativity and their Christmas gymkhana. There's a charity ride too where everyone dresses up, including the horses!

Prompt:
The Belgians look into their empty food trays, jaw unhinged in slight shock. They can deal with a lot but food being unaccounted for just does not work for them.
Cautiously, the first few stroll out of their boxes. One lowers his head and starts to sniff the floor, almost like he is a dog hunting for a lead. Another one tip toes over to the food chamber, carefull treading to not Ruin any traces of the crime.
As the food chambers door swing open a few of the Belgians whine in shock, big Ole nearly faints. The same view as in the Trays is to be observed. Big emptyness, no food in sight.
The Belgians gather quickly for a conference and exchange thoughts for how they should progress. Police is being mentioned but the idea is tossed for loss of practicality. Mouse Traps get scraped for Lack of evidence.
While the Belgians still toss ideas around, they suddenly hear a whistle from outside. It's their caretaker, the one responsible for filling the food trays firstmost. The angry crowd off upset Belgians with grumbling stomaches leaves the stable as one mass - only to be halted in their thunderous outrage.
The Caretaker presents to them a feast, everything they could wish for and more had been prepared outdoors for them!

Prompt:

It was dinner time at Little Lizard Stables, the air outside was cold but the barn was warm and welcoming. Everyone was waiting patiently for their meal.

As the clock ticked on and dinner time came and went the and the Belgian's started to get restless.

10 full minutes after they were supposed to have been fed, Druid decided to take matters into his own hooves. He hung his head over his stable door and started working on the bolt. After what seemed like an eternity he had finally wiggled it enough and managed to push the door open.

Druid snorted triumphantly and made his way to the store room. Another bolt. But he knew what to do.

He was so close to unbolting the door when suddenly the main barn door swung open and the groom hurried in "I'm so sorry everyone! Traffic was horrendous and - DRUID!"

Druid whipped his head round to look at his caretaker before sheepishly making his way back to his stall where he waited with his head hung low for his dinner.

"You silly boy Druid" said the caretaker as she opened up the stall to give Druid his dinner. She ruffled his forelock before leaving him to tuck into his dinner.

Prompt: The temperature has dropped enough that the lake located in the woods just off of the yard has frozen over.

Gingerbread and Druid were out on a chilly morning hack when they saw it for the first time. The lake is situated at the halfway point on the trail so its always the spot to stop and have a drink. In the summer the lake is a great way to cool off and many a trip has been taken to spend the day in the water.

Druid noticed first, he touched his nose to the cold surface of the ice and immediately recoiled as the cold nipped his sensitive nose. Gingerbread, having watched Druid, was more cautious and lowered her head just enough to sniff at the frozen water.

They looked at each other as their riders chuckled at the display. Druid went to place his hoof on the ice "nuh uh" said his rider "its not thick enough for that" and she pulled him away.

"Come on" said Gingerbreads rider as she encouraged the horse to move on.

Druid huffed and hung his head in disappointment as they walked on. He was not best pleased that his favourite lake was now unusable.

Prompt:

It's finally here! Christmas morning!

Druid, Gingerbread and Flurry are in their stalls buzzing with excitement. They can see the presents under the tree and they know that Father Christmas has been.

After what seems like an eternity the Little Lizard Staff arrive, big smiles on their faces and chatter filling the barn. Some of them had their young families with them.

They get to work making sure the horses are fed, cleaned and watered while the children fuss and groom the belgians before sitting around the tree to exchange presents.

After what seemed like an eternity to the excited Belgians, the last few presents were brought over and Druid, Gingerbread and Flurry were each presented with a new halter and a new rug.

They felt so much love for the staff that cared for them, day in and day out. Even taking time out on Christmas to make sure they had everything they needed.

The music and chatter started to die down and the staff started to leave to spend time with their families at home.

The barn was quiet once more except for the quite sound of hooves shuffling about in hay, what an exciting Christmas morning.

They couldn't wait for the evening where the staff would be back with their families for the Christmas party!
