For generations, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has been a safe haven for all magical folk, be they
pure blood or muggle-born. Under the watchful eye of Albus Dumbledore, one of the greatest headmasters that
the school has ever seen, Hogwarts has become the most desirable wizarding school in Europe, renowned for its
fast-paced and engaging learning environment. Every year, hundreds of young witches and wizards eagerly pace
in front of their postboxes, awaiting their acceptance letter with baited breaths. For many, there is no place as
safe or as comforting, which makes the recent murder all the more shocking.

Only a month into the 1981 schoolyear, a professor is found dead at the edge of the forest, the apparent victim
of the dreaded killing curse. But who would do such a thing? And why? And how? Is Hogwarts no longer the safe,
warm place it once was? Or is there some sort of logical explanation? As rumors begin to spread and security at
the castle increases, only one thing is certain. This is going to be a year unlike any other at Hogwarts...

001. Follow all Chicken Smoothie roleplay rules. If you are unfamiliar with them, please take a moment to read over them here. Repeated failure to follow site rules will result in being booted from the roleplay and a report being made to the moderators.
002. No adult language, graphic violence or suggestive material is allowed. As a general guideline, keep everything PG-13 or below.
003. Write at least a paragraph (six sentences minimum) per post, and use correct spelling and grammar whenever possible, though I understand if English is not your first language or occasional writer's block.
004. You must post at least once a week and let me know if you're going to be away. Failure to post for two weeks in a row will result in being booted from the roleplay. While you can reapply, your particular spot (a professor position, for example) may have been claimed by someone else in the meantime.
005. Character reservations last only forty-eight hours. If you do not have a basic character form up by then, your reservation will be revoked and the spot will be reopened (unless you have reached out to me and requested an extension prior to the deadline).

Hogwarts Castle - Hogwarts Castle is a large, seven-story high building supported by magic, with a hundred and forty-two staircases throughout its many towers and turrets and very deep dungeons. The castle is the main building of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, regarded as the finest wizarding school in the world.

The Great Hall - The Great Hall in the Hogwarts Castle is the main gathering area in the school, which is located off the Entrance Hall. It is a large hall where students and teachers dine and congregate. Three meals a day ae hosted in this hall. The Great Hall is the main place where students receive their meals and daily owl post. It is also used for holding certain special events, such as the Sorting Ceremony, and the Hallowe'en Feast. The large hall has enough space to hold every student, as well as the main staff and guests. The Hall has tall walls that reached up to the ceiling, which is covered with floating candles and enchanted to look like the sky above. At the front of the hall is the staff table, also known as the High Table, which os designed to house the entire Hogwarts staff. In the center of the table is a throne chair where the present Headteacher sits.

Headmaster's Office - The Headmaster's office is the room in Hogwarts Castle that serves as the private study of the incumbent Headmaster or Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where they work and live during the school year. It is located atop a tower that is accessed through the Gargoyle Corridor. It is reached by means of a circular, moving stone staircase, which in turn is concealed by a gargoyle on the third floor. The gargoyle will step aside in response to a password, though the Head is able to override the password if, for any reason, it desires that it will not work.

Gryffindor Common Room - The Gryffindor common room is the common room for Gryffindor House located in Gryffindor Tower. It sports several shades of red and gold. The fireplace mantle is adorned with a portrait of a lion (associated with the house) and the room is described as being 'cozy'.

Slytherin Common Room - The Slytherin common room is the common room for Slytherin House located in Slytherin Dungeon. It sports several shades of green and the mantle is adorned with a portrait of a serpent (all associated with the house).

Ravenclaw Common Room - The Ravenclaw common room is the common room for Ravenclaw House located in Ravenclaw Tower. It sports several shades of blue with bronze (all associated with the house). It is also the airiest of the four common rooms.

Hufflepuff Common Room - The Hufflepuff common room is the common room for Hufflepuff House located in Hufflepuff Basement. It sports several motifs, such as circles, nature, copper and the colors yellow and black (all associated with the house). It also emphasizes comfort, said to be "the coziest common room of them all."

The Forbidden Forest - The Forbidden Forest, also known as the Dark Forest, is a forest that borders the edges of the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As the forest's name suggests, it is strictly off limits to students — except in the case of detention, or Care of Magical Creatures lessons that occasionally take place there.

Hogsmeade - Hogsmeade Village, or simply called Hogsmeade, is the only all-wizarding village in Britain. It was founded by Hengist of Woodcroft. Since before 1714 (when the 1714 Edict was passed), Hogwarts third-years and above have been permitted weekend trips into the village.

Start-Of Term Feast - The Start-of-Term Feast, also known as the Welcoming Feast or the Great Feast, is the traditional feast of the first night at Hogwarts, welcoming the start of a new school year. It is held in the Great Hall on the night of September 1st following the arrival of the students on the Hogwarts Express. The feast is notable for including the Sorting of all new first-year students into their Houses.

Teacher Appreciation Celebration - A Teacher Appreciation Celebration is regularly held at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for several days, to celebrate the whole Hogwarts staff. The celebration includes a feast and presentations about the teachers' personalities and achievements, held by a group of students, each student interviewing a staff member. At every celebration, one staff member is chosen as the Guest of Honor.

The House Cup - The House Cup is a yearly award given at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is given at the end of the school year to the House with the most House points. Points are given to Houses by teachers and prefects throughout the year for various things including answering questions correctly and doing good deeds. The winners of school Quidditch games also receive points. Points can be taken away for things such as misbehaving or rule-breaking.

Hallowe'en Feast - The Hallowe'en feast at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry occurs on October 31st every year. It is festooned with confectionery-filled pumpkins, apples, black cauldrons of big lollipops, carrot cake, bats, orange streamers, goblets of colored sweets, possibly Pumpkin juice, and all sorts of Hallowe'en-related decorations. There is always some entertainment at the end, which might be by the Hogwarts ghosts who popped out of the walls and did formation gliding. It is a highly anticipated feast which most Hogwarts students look forward to every year.

Christmas Feast - The Christmas feast is held on Christmas Day. It is attended by the Professors and any students that have chosen to remain at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry over the Christmas holidays.

End-Of-Term Feast - The End-of-Term Feast (also known as the Leaving Feast) is a traditional part of the school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, held in the Great Hall.
