Hello! I'm, like... Practically brand new to this site. My friend introduced me to it a week ago or so, and I have yet to try anything involving the forums. So, I figured I would start with something involving my career field!
Just to explain a little bit about myself...
--------------------------------------------------------------
I don't give out my name online unless I know you personally, so people just call me disaster. Kinda fitting, but... Y'know.
I'm a junior in college studying 3D animation. I've worked on a couple of collaborative films at my school so far, so I've had a little preview as to how the animation industry functions. I also have many, many great professors that directly come from the industry. One of my professors worked on The Iron Giant, there's another one that was the character animator for Mushu, and another that was the character animator for Koda in Brother Bear. They have a lot more experience than what I mentioned, that's just what I remember being brought up in conversations.
I personally really want to focus my skills on creature animation and maybe someday earn a spot in studios like Red Barrels, Bloober Team, CD Projekt Red, or Tango Gameworks. A lot of horror games have been my inspiration, >Observer_ probably being my favorite.
I'm currently starting my spring quarter from home because of... Well, you know. The pandemic. I go to school out of state, so working on my classwork from home with my family around is a little odd, haha.
I absolutely love dogs. All kinds. From toy breeds to working breeds, small dogs and giant dogs, I just love dogs. I'm an animal person in general, as I wanted to be a vet before realizing my love for animation, but after working at dog shelters I grew to love them a lot. My family has an abnormally large Australian Shepherd, and a really old Beagle.
I do digital and traditional art, but nowadays, more so digital. And that's if I have time. Schoolwork eats up most of my time, and when I do have some to myself, I like to spend it with family or friends. So I don't get to draw much anymore, but when I do, I enjoy it.
I generally love art. I may not understand things like fashion design, sound design, graphic design, film & television, etc., I still love hearing those who are passionate about their field of art talk.
--------------------------------------------------------------
So, with all that said, I would really just like to meet fellow animators on CS! 2D, 3D, vsfx, anything you do with animation, I would love to hear about it. I also enjoy discussing the happenings of the animation industry, as well as the game design industry. Your opinions on stuff going on in those, as long as they're friendly debates, are always welcome here. Hope to talk to some of you!
Thank you!
