She brought in potato latkes, and I’ve been obsessed ever since! They are served with either sour cream or applesauce. I think little hamsters or even just food items would be a great addition!

Omg. Potato hamsters and/or guinea pigs with the different toppings would be AMAZING!

Deer with candle antlers would actually be so fun and cute, for both holidays!

omg i'm back again sorry but i saw someone bring this up and i want to second it: i am SUCHH a sucker for the candy corn worm pps pets from halloween last year and seeing a little challah bread pps worm would be SOOO CUTE!!!! especially because i have had some really fun nontraditional challah before (for pride month, my rabbi organized a whole thing where we had rainbow challah and it was THE BOMB DOT COM)! it would be super cute to have them maybe with little bites, maybe some with seeds or flowers on top, some with the fabric covering, maybe a dizzy looking burnt one by accident  there's so many options!!!

It would be fun if there was a little dreidel pet that had a face similar to how the smoothies and trees have little faces on them.
Maybe have a "gelt" dog that has its ear half eaten.

I would love to see the incorporation of vibrant African style prints on either accessories for the pets or a design on a pet or two. I will attach images for an example.

There are a few different reasons that this item of clothing is what I am suggesting. It holds multiple versions of historical importance.

It is believed that it is linked to origins to royalty in ancient Egypt, Nubia and West Africa.

And of course the other significance is when slave owners wife's became jealous of the African women's hair and demanded they cover their hair up. So they complied but did so by taking the most beautiful, bold colour fabrics they could find, afford or create. And I think it's really interesting and important to remember and respect this!

I know this isn't what you were asking, but as a Jewish person myself I would like to say that I've noticed that most sites that honor a Jewish holiday do so with Hannukah, and I know that it is because mainly people focus on Christmas and because Hannukah falls around the same time it is unfortunately considered 'jewish christmas'. But what I really would like to see is some appreciation for Jewish holidays that do not line up with major Christian events, since Hannukah is really not that major of a holiday. Here are my suggestions:

Passover: Ten plagues pets would be AWESOME. though maybe too dark for CS.
Sukkot: A sukkah item set, maybe one with decorations to customize, and maybe a Lulav and Etrov.
Tu Bishavat: this is our tree day. we love trees here. yay trees!
Purim: This ones a HUGE party, much to choose from. masks, noisemakers, Hamentashen, paper crowns- lots of fun.
Rosh Hashanah: Apples and honey, Apples and honey, Apples coated in honey, and of course the Shofar! but everyone loves apples and honey, Jewish or not.

Note that most Jewish holidays are about surviving persecution and tragedy so be careful with how you handle things, and make sure to consult with Jewish folk when making repersentation, as with any minority. as a rule of thumb, don't make silly pet holidays over anything that involves ritual fasting. but the ones I suggested i think we'd all love to see.

I'm sure other religious minorities have their own that they would love celebrated, too! even just a single pet released on the day of can make people feel proud of their heritage and seen in this community!

Based on some research,
The animals most associated with Hanukkah would be the Dove llama lion goose & the gnome(easily done by a dwarf hamster)
Perhaps instead of just being a candle they could have jars of oil, the lion guarding more than say the Dove maybe carrying one, or even as art on the Pet showing the jars of oil. As that is where the holiday stems from one jar of oil lasting eight days when it should’ve only lasted one.
Another idea of possibly having more eastern style dragons since they are so popular as perhaps the last Hanukkah pet and have all eight candles represented across its length
Could be cute to have a dwarf hamster as a dreidel
And or other pets with different symbols that represent the holiday
