At the same time, I'm a bit sad, because a character I didn't originally intend on killing, somehow or another, through his brave and heroic acts, ended up becoming a sacrifice. I'm so sorry Ben. I never meant it to be you too. Please rest in peace. You were a good man.
dude zen congrats !! this is crazy insane of you!
also i cackled, i unfortunately also have the habit of sacrificing my characters .... for the greater good c':

here's a bit about me/ my writing journey: I've been writing since I was young - from random paragraphs, to rewriting the end of a film I hated (Ring of Bright Water - its sad, very sad...), to just picking a place and a mood to write a descriptive piece. And now I focus on two storylines;
1. Aftermath, our Earth but humans have vanished, leaving behind all we have built but nature is reclaiming. The stories follow Flam, a giraffe who seeks to explore all she can about the ancient civilisation of Humans - she's heard the stories passed down from generation to generation, and now she wanted to preserve all she can before nature truly demolishes it all. I started writing about Flam when I was 10, which is when I got a giraffe toy IRL, and over the years her world has changed but her adventurous spirit has always remained the same. This is definitely my main focus, as through Flam, I can travel the world and visit anywhere I want!
2. Elysian System/IBEAR - this is a massive galaxy, with various planets that all have their own storyline and characters, but everything can be linked back to The Institute of Biological, Ecological and Astronomical Research (IBEAR). This started when I was at university studying zoology, at a place known as IBERs (sadly I donβt know it exists anymore as the university did a make over of the science department). Currently I have 6 worlds; Veritas (the main hub of IBEAR, where most scientists live, work and socialise), Kirat (an advanced world of feral felines caught in an out of control lovers quarrel), Valera (an island in a lake in an island in the sea), Aquativa (basically a world thatβs just Pangaea, dinosaurs included), Selene (a world which only shows for those that truly need it, a home for rest and recovery to allow healing), and Equus (a moon that is owned by IBEAR and is basically a private holiday ranch for scientists and their families, though it also doubles as a sanctuary for animals who need aid).
anything else? Itβs nice to meet you all!

AAAA giraffe it's so nice to have you !! c:
let me start by saying i've never heard of any sort of giraffe-based literature, so this is SO intriguing to me!! i've always been a secret little freak for warriors/animal-perspectives of any kind in stories, so this really caught my eye and i'd love to see a tidbit of your story through flam's eyes. this is SUCH a unique and cool idea!!!
raaahhhh your ability with world-building so far sounds so admirable c': it is one of the struggles i face, but these ideas seem to come naturally for you!
we're happy to have you here, and welcome to our abode !! i hope you find yourself at home <3 <3

i'm new to the writers' abode!
you can call me: ara

here's a bit about me/ my writing journey: i've always been passionate about writing since i was a little girl. i would write silly, magical stories and, funnily enough, cs contributed to why i'm enrolled in the english program as a sophomore in university. i've been roleplaying on this wonderful site in the last decade (oh wow i'm old lol) and my writing has immensely improved because of the skills i developed along the way!! as of present day, i consider myself a poet and i write many poems in my free time which intertwine nature, generational trauma, and the human condition. writing has been a coping mechanism for me during moments of depression and i'm forever grateful to wield such a privilege. i continue to navigate hardships and discriminatory events in my life as a poc student through writing, and i'm excited to meet you all and share this amazing passion. c: the goal is to be an english teacher after all of this but i'm enjoying my academic journey for what it is. haha
anything else? i recently had one of my poems accepted in my university's literary journal and i'm so !!! happy !!!! aaa the launch party for the journal is next monday, and i was invited to speak about my poem and read it aloud. lowkey a bit nervous but, nonetheless, excited for this opportunity!!! <3
what aspect of writing doesn't come easily to you? how do you keep writing when you feel this challenge, or when you feel writer's block of any kind?
bro... sticking to one idea all the way through. i have so many plotlines i wish to pursue which dance around my brain until i pick one of them up. and then, when i finally begin the writing process, i lose interest and wish to pursue something else. this is mainly why i enjoy writing poetry because i can elongate my current mood and express it in a couple of stanzas then be over with it. novels... not so much !!! >_<

raahhhhh you seem like such a cool person so far i'm kinda freakin out over here c':
firstly, WELCOME to our abode !! and i hope you enjoy your stay and find yourself at home here <3
your steps through your writing journey are so similar to mine :')) i also roleplayed here on cs as a youngster, primarily with my sister, but also with random friends here and there, which evolved into me writing solo. and i ALSO write poems, although i am far too anxious and they are far too personal for me to ever share with another human eye/ear (i will unabashedly recite them to myself and to my dawgs tho c: ).
and i ALSO am planning to teach english, hopefully middle/high school english, starting next fall ! i graduate in may with my b.a. in english with a focus in literature and a minor in creative writing. c': twinsies <3
also i'm SO PROUD OF YOU for getting a poem accepted into your literary journal at uni! that is so freaking exciting c: nerve-wracking i can completely understand, but it is definitely something to be proud of c:
aaa i have the same struggle as you in keeping up with one storyline and characters -- well, let me correct myself. i HAD this issue before i started my current series c': now i'm absolutely obsessed with the storyline that im getting ahead of myself and i'm not finished revising my second book but i am ITCHING like a FIEND so begin my third c': the struggle is so real here.
i enjoyed hearing about you immensely and, once more, welcome!!!
