Firemane is best known for being an absolute, unrepentant menace.

The stars must have been feeling persnickety when they sent Firemane down to earth, for they saw fit to bless him with deft paws and a mind that never stops moving. He's got a downright uncanny knack for moving unseen and unheard, and he abuses it at every given opportunity. Someone in the camp's got a secret? Firemane will hang from tree branches, hide in ditches, and lurk in shadows trying to overhear it. Hunters have come in with a mountain of freshkill? He'll perform some truly masterful sleight-of-paw to swipe the choicest bits. The clan's mediators are trying to smooth over some ruffled feathers?

Perhaps the most galling part is Firemane isn't the slightest bit ashamed of his escapades. He views his continual boundary stomping as a great lark. If others didn't want him to stick his nose where it wasn't welcome, they'd stop him! ...except he excels at covering his own tracks. He's rarely caught red-pawed, and when he is, there's never quite enough evidence to definitively pin the crime on him. There's always just enough lingering doubt to stay the Wake's collective paws.

And so Firemane keeps getting away with bad behavior, behavior that keeps escalating. It's only a matter of time until his 'harmless pranks' get someone hurt.

What Firemane doesn't seem to realize is that 'someone' may well be himself.

Tindersnap is known as the new cat in town - in a negative way.

When your town is small and resistant to change, the new cat in town is bound to make everyone feel uncomfortable, and Tindersnap does just that, though he's certainly not trying to.

"What is this?" the storekeeper asked, prodding the pile of round pieces of metal Tindersnap had placed on their counter.

"Oh, they're.. coins?" Tindersnap said, seeming genuine but unsure. "You use them to buy things. You know, money. It's more than a fair price for your goods, I can assure you of that."

The shopkeeper laughed at that. "Yeah, I don't think so. I'll take one of your shiny little trinkets as a souvenir, maybe, but you'll have to find something more useful than- 'money' to get yourself that whole notebook."

Tindersnap's face twisted in confusion. A store that didn't take money... How odd. "That's alright," he said. "Would one coin cover just a few pieces of paper, then?"

It's not just his weird, citycat tendencies that seem to make everyone uncomfortable. It's the strange air with which he carries himself, always writing in some notebook or another and mumbling under his breath. He avoids eye contact, offers too-quiet hellos to passing neighbors, spends too much time boarded up at home rather than attending social events. Not that anyone invited him, of course.

To the older cats, he's a rich cityboy whose parents paved the way for him to do whatever he wants forever. "He's probably never worked a day in his life," they mutter. "If he did- where's the stuff to barter with? 'Coins'... what a strange idea."

The younger cats have started rumors of where he comes from. Some claim he's a ghost, risen from the old cemetery to haunt their streets and mutter curses as he passes shops and homes. A few of the older kits suspect he could be a not-so-secret government spy, taking notes on their town so he can fill it with "coins" and "running water" (water doesn't have legs? how would it run??).

Tindersnap is mostly aware of all this, but he tries his best to not let it get to him. They just need time to adjust is all, he tells himself. I'm sure they'll be more willing to approach and be friends later on. And so he keeps his distance, trying to let the others acclimate to his presence - but unintentionally making himself less approachable instead.

What he'd really like to be known for are his rabbits, but no one ever comes by to visit and meet them. Or maybe he could be known as the cool researcher, the guy who put aside his easy life and everything familiar to try something uniquely new and fascinating; the guy who rose to the challenge of living in a whole new town, a whole new culture, where everyone seems to want to avoid him. Or honestly just anything related to his actual job.

But for now, he's just the weird newcomer who doesn't quite fit in.

One rabbit decides to stay with him, and the clan just accepted it, and learn to accept and eventually like the bunnies that follow him back each day.

Prompt: Chai has a great relationship with Swish in the clan and one day Swish brought back a worn teddy bear she had found outside one of the nearby two leg towns. It had tatterted fur and scratched button eyes but still had potential. She thanked Swish and brang it to her den. She was going to give it to the kits but she developed an atachment to it, furring on it and snuggling it at nights when she was alone and cold. She liked carying it around the clan, and sometimes she would let the kits play or snuggle it with her supervison. She developed a big attachment to this bear, and wherever she is, you can always find the bear in her mouth or nearby.

Prompt: Melody had been out with a couple of the kits who were getting older and needed to learn how to hunt. There had been talk the week before of a bobcat that had been lurking near the territory, but no one had seen it for a while. So she made the decision to take them out on their fist hunt. They had just taken down their first prey with a little help from her, when they were attacked by a scrawny looking bobcat. It seemed hungry, and Melody figured quickly that was why it was around, smelling their successful hunt. She was going to take the kits and leave the hunt for it, but it turned on the kits seeing another small addition to it's meal. She ferociously dissuaded that thought and left a few marks of her own on it as a clear reminder to stay away from her clan. It ran off a ways, and she quickly herded the kits back home safely, leaving the hunt for the bobcat. Though she would not let it touch the kits, she was not heartless and did not want it to starve. The scouts later mentioned seeing the bobcat making it's way farther away from their lands. She was grateful it had not been harmed too bad (she knew she had left a mean bite at one point), but also grateful it had left. Hopefully to find a better ground for it elsewhere.

Prompt: Simon is very good at inventing little tools for the clan to use. A contraption that could go into the shallower, slower moving waters to help catch some fish. Some of the older ones were skeptical of these contraptions, but he was confident in his work. Some would say his special skill is the ability to smell mushrooms in whatever the elders make to try and get him to eat some (and Always avoids eating them), but he would claim (rightfully so) that it is his intelligence and ingenuity.

he doesn't feel pride or shame for the scars he has. in fact, he's quite... indifferent to them. he simply sees them as marks that tells everyone that at one point, he found himself in a sticky situation but, thankfully, escaped alive!
though, when he goes out to run errands every morning, if his neighbor happens to be outside they do stare or glance at him. it.. does sometimes bother him, but he's learned to just.. ignore it. but maybe he should bring it up to them at some point. it is rude to stare, afterall.
