    i agree with @shooting stars and @birdy. randomized pets would be a bummer, especially since so many folks aren't super into the trading scene and could use the lucky rare+ pet to get something they really want. i also just like the competitive feel. yes it does get frustrating, i've been there plenty of times myself, but i'd much rather try for something i want than be given something random.

    i'm all for more cs events! it doesn't even have to be something like the writing comp. it could be like prizes for how active you are, more banners that sometimes give you rares, etc. i'm sure the staff could come up with lots of fun ways to make use of the rares c:

I'd heard rumours of people using scripts for the pound and it's a shame that may be the case :<

It would explain the lag tbh and how pets get taken in an instant. I'm not sure what could be done to prevent it without rewriting a bunch of website code. It'd probably benefit the staff to have another coder to split the workload ;⩊;

As much as I hope something comes out of this thread I'm not exactly hopeful since it's apparently been mentioned throughout the years without any real addressing

The pound should load in an initial page of pets that are locked for a further 10 seconds. After these 10 seconds are up, you should then be able to claim a pet.

As it stands right now, when a human accesses a pound page we have to process 15+ pets in front of us in 0.001 seconds and decide what to grab. Bots and scripts will always win. However, if there were at least 10 seconds (less, maybe) for the humans to see what is available, make a decision, and prepare to spam-click the claim button, there is a chance of getting lucky and out-clicking the bot/script that will also be spam-clicking.

I don't think you can ever prevent scripts or botters on any VPS, but you can give the edge to human players and allow them an advantage over them.

This is a wonderful suggestion. It's a small tweak to the main issue of where scripts are used, and doesn't prevent people from using legit scripts for forums and trading. I've seen other forms of this suggestion also be stated in reference to those who have ADHD or kids in general- a page full of shiny animals and "quick make a choice!" can be made more fun by giving us all a little bit of time to look it over for more than a WL star next to a pet's name before having to furiously click for what we want.

I am locking this thread for staff review. Please do not create a new one in the meantime.

Hey all!

After some careful consideration, CS staff have decided that this thread will remain locked. A lot of assumptions are being made, and there is a lot of fear mongering going on, neither of which are going to lead to any meaningful discussion. To be clear, using scripts that give you an unfair gameplay advantage is considered cheating and is not permitted. Posting scripts, even if they no longer work, or describing/theorizing how one might create a script, is not permitted either.
