I think if it was made that only the pound page would not work well scripts are active would help although I have 0 idea on how to do that

I've been seeing this suggested a lot, but I would absolutely hate just receiving a random pet/raffle thing.
I want a choice, if I don't see a wishlist or whatever, I always pick a green pet for my kidney disease awareness hoard. Or in December, often something for Secret Santa. (a hoard pet or a little common or something.)
I don't want to just receive something that I don't want and will sit in my trade folder for all of eternity, rare or not.

Sometimes, something can be too fair. And this is one of those things.

i'm not sure - the problem is that the scripts are used with google chrome extensions. i think it's possible to code, but it would be based on the detection of said extensions. many people use tons of different extensions (me & ad blockers my beloved) so i don't think it's possible to code for the detection of scripts without blocking out others.

again idk how to code at all but thats my thought process on it!

I'm not sure how popular this idea would be, and I'm really just spitballing ideas here, but what if the rarer pets (maybe uncommon+ or rare+ or whatever) that get donated to the pound went toward prizes for monthly CS competitions? I know that they're trying to get writing comps back up and running again, and I know people really enjoy the dress-up comps each month. I know that not everyone has time/the desire for that sort of thing, but at least it would make using scripts less appealing? Plus, I'd like to think it would get people more engaged/excited about CS involvement again. And maybe, if people wanted to opt out of those comps but still wanted a shot at a rare pet, they could do an additional raffle or two? Just a thought, though, and I'm sure there are flaws that I haven't thought of yet lol

first i am SO SO SO for more cs events. they did bring back the cs writing competition with pet prizes!! one thing i do like about the pound is that newer users are able to snag pets they can keep or use to trade. overall i think the pound is important when it comes to rare pets and their distribution into the economy - but with scripts being posted and now made more well known due to recent posts is definitely going to cause an issue with this. the fact the script is old doesnt matter as well - cs code has not changed in like over a decade.

yesss im a huge fan of this idea. chicken smoothie needs more engaging stuff so bad, its a snoozefest at the moment with the lack of content (totally fair if you disagree btw, just my own opinion). CS competitions would be amazing for more engagement in the community, and just the excitement for cs in general

I don't like the idea of getting pets that are meant for the pound to be used for CS writing comps. I have too much on my plate to sit and write for pets rather than just on a whim catch the pound open and have a better chance at getting something I want, rare or not.
Writing competitions run by staff are a GOOD idea, but not to solve this problem. Maybe they could give out stamps? That's something account bound and untradeable, so people aren't motivated just for gaining a valuable pet. And it's something that makes you stand out if you're the only one or one of few who wins it.
If anything, maybe the prizes for a writing comp can be a current store set? Just a small handful of winners, so nothing is really being taken away from the pound that someone with less time on their hands to write for a writing comp.
Even in light of all this nothing is going to change, nothing really ever does so this is all just hopeful ramblings :/
