merlin paused and thought a little more, “alright, I’ll see what I can do,” he mumbled- his horn glowing a lime green. he turned his head a little and focused a little, a silhouette of a book appearing in front of him- eventually manifesting in front of him. the book was a navy blue leather-bound journal, with gold leaves pressed into the cover. multiple pages stuck out and if you look closely, you could see his illegible scribbled notes, rushed and tiny as if he was trying to use up as much space as he could.

“Let’s see here,” he mumbled, already flipping through the pages, carefully going over the loose leaf papers. eventually stopping in the middle. he skimmed through his notes, his nose to the curled and tea-stained pages. “guess this is an early entry in my studies,” he mumbled as he continued forth, slow and cautious and non-speaking as he reread them. “chaos magic,” he looked up from his notes, slamming the journal before allowing it to hover around his head with the help of his magic. “is just a natural form of magic.. just a lot more rare in most magical casters, although… it’s said that it could extend to the non casters as well.” he mumbled, still keeping his pace. “there’s all type of magic- and dream magic is just..” he paused, thinking for a moment, “its something that I have recently picked up. I really haven’t dabbled in it much so I don’t know a whole a lot about that.”

Then something dawned on him "Oh no weve been talking for a while you dont have anywhere to be do you? I dont want you to be late" he said worried

Vespers eyes lit up some at the thought of cats "I would love to see the cafe... i really like cats" she admitted and smiled. He couldnt help but daydream about what colored cats they have at the cafe before shaking her head and clearing the thoughts for a moment, they needed a job before they could get a cat.

They listened as he mumbled, seeing the pages flipping as he began to search. Perhaps he should make a glossary, though it was a notebook. They shook their head at their self. They weren’t going to tell him to do that, these were his notes and his work. They weren’t going to tell him how to do his research. He hadn’t been telling them how to do their work. He’d only been giving some suggestions, and asking questions. The self publication suggestion had honestly been a good one. They blinked and nodded as he spoke once more. They said “It could extend to non casters as well…well, that’s pretty cool.” They smiled a bit as they looked at him. They were truly interested in the subject of magic, as it were. Especially because they could make a story about magical ponies or creatures. This was definitely something they could get into. They nodded as they looked at him. “Could you…do one of those sleep studies or whatever, or would that not work for studying magic?”

Jewels took a small peek at what Star Seeker was now drawing, but didn't catch on to what he was drawing just yet. She instead flipped to another page in her notebook, deciding to work on some ideas for necklaces. She stole another glance towards Star Seeker, deciding to gain some inspiration by doing one for him. She worked on sketches for a longer necklace with a silver chain. She sketch out a four pointed star for the gem on the necklace, a bit lost for what the gem should be. She looked towards Dista, showing her the sketch. "What do you think would look better, a purple amethyst or a green emerald?" She asked, leaving out who the necklace was inspired from.

she had managed to make a couple fresh batches of butterscotch cupcakes, placing them behind the glass counter and the display stand before taking a breif break to look at a couple of order tickets. she had already made a variety of sweets a couple of days ago- including yesterday and the other day. she moved a hoof through her now braided mane, making sure that any rouge hairs were tucked back into her hairnet, organizing tickets by complete and incomplete...which was only a few incomplete orders...which she can get done with ease if she managed her time more.

calliope's ears twitched as the bell above the door notified her of a customer. she turned her head towards the door and beamed, smiling at a pony that she has never quite met before, "good morning and welcome to calliope sweets- or if you are here for weaver's tapestries, then her shop is just up those flight of stairs," she smiled as she used her hoof to point over towards the spiraling staircase that led to her sister's shop. maybe they need a sign or something that will draw attention to her sister's shop more, but that was something to be discussed later.

"you are welcome either way, feel free to ask any questions if you have any."

merlin nodded, "pretty...cool," although that wouldn't be a word that he would use, "and neat indeed," he tured his head a little, wondering for a bit if his sources were credible in the first place- which he was pretty sure that they were. he wouldn't go running around spewing misinformation if he wasn't at least quadruple-checking his sources. merlin thought about it for a moment before sending his journal back to his room. there wasn't any need of it at the moment, so why should it be here? merlin looked at the other pony when they asked a couple of questions relating back at their conversation. "it wouldn't be a bad idea, but...i am not sure that it would work considering it is dealing with magic...although it wouldn't hurt to read up on some studies already done." surely there would be some- right? he thought for a moment before taking a second to glance around. not close to the city, but maybe if they slowed their pace.

merlin twitched his tail. "surely you don't want to converse more about this topic- is there anything else you would like to discuss?"

when they arrived at their shop, she quickly retreated upstairs to her shop, thanking her sister as she had brought a little something for her to quell her hunger until lunch. maybe that is when they should drop buy that little magic shop? something to think about- and maybe mention to their father when they return home. surely he'd be interested in something like that?...probably, probably not.

she smiled a little before opening up the balcony doors to let a little air and sun in this gloomy room. she decided to step out to refresh her brain- clearing the cobwebs out before returning back to her work area- moving across the floor to collect the cobwebs that were gathering in the corners of her shop- and that was when heECr little spider friend crawled out of her bag and out in the open- more than likely to spin another web. spider weaver greeted milton with a wave- and it waved back before disappearing somewhere in the room. she giggled a little before humming a tune as she got her loom set up for the day.

Then they shook their head, as he sent his journal away. They smiled a little smile, as he looked to them again after a moment, when they’d asked more questions.

They nodded as they looked at the handsome, and kind of pretty, one. He seemed to have eyeshadow after all…but would he want to be called pretty? They shook that thought away. They didn’t mind being called pretty and cute, if any pony wanted to do so. They nodded and said “I’m sure there’s been studies. Maybe not sleep studies but…maybe some pony kept a dream journal. That’s thing too, so if they did magic in their sleep they may have written that down. Um…we could talk about animals now, like…pets or such.”

she had managed to make a couple fresh batches of butterscotch cupcakes, placing them behind the glass counter and the display stand before taking a breif break to look at a couple of order tickets. she had already made a variety of sweets a couple of days ago- including yesterday and the other day. she moved a hoof through her now braided mane, making sure that any rouge hairs were tucked back into her hairnet, organizing tickets by complete and incomplete...which was only a few incomplete orders...which she can get done with ease if she managed her time more.

calliope's ears twitched as the bell above the door notified her of a customer. she turned her head towards the door and beamed, smiling at a pony that she has never quite met before, "good morning and welcome to calliope sweets- or if you are here for weaver's tapestries, then her shop is just up those flight of stairs," she smiled as she used her hoof to point over towards the spiraling staircase that led to her sister's shop. maybe they need a sign or something that will draw attention to her sister's shop more, but that was something to be discussed later.

"you are welcome either way, feel free to ask any questions if you have any."

while he has been mistaken for a mare on multiple occasions- so if anything he was pretty used to it at this point of time. but cute...not so much. after all they did just meet. anything he wouldn't take it as a compliment at this time.

he thought for a moment- have they introduced theirselves to each other yet? it seems like they have already and maybe that interaction escaped his mind- oh! right. their name is nova- right. merlin glanced at nova, nodding a little "very fair and very true. i wouldn't want to look through someone else's journal however- unless its publically available..." he mumbled, using a hoof to scratch his lil beard- or would it be a goatee? whatever it was it wasn't the same color as his mane- just more so the secondary color of his coat. "but I think I would find something that elusive more in canterlot rather than manehattan- or completely unavailable and currently with a family memeber locked away. either way i do not have much desire to return to that dreadful place or venture into the city." oooh what a ramble...with such spite and negativity. his head was lowered and he was glowering...but it changed and he held his head high as he mentioned about animals and pets. "I do have a pet of my own- pericles. and rather not mine but one of my daughters', but she owns a black widow named milton." he mumbled, not sure where milton even came from...let alone why she named her that, but that was something that he'll never bring up.

when they arrived at their shop, she quickly retreated upstairs to her shop, thanking her sister as she had brought a little something for her to quell her hunger until lunch. maybe that is when they should drop buy that little magic shop? something to think about- and maybe mention to their father when they return home. surely he'd be interested in something like that?...probably, probably not.

she smiled a little before opening up the balcony doors to let a little air and sun in this gloomy room. she decided to step out to refresh her brain- clearing the cobwebs out before returning back to her work area- moving across the floor to collect the cobwebs that were gathering in the corners of her shop- and that was when her little spider friend crawled out of her bag and out in the open- more than likely to spin another web. spider weaver greeted milton with a wave- and it waved back before disappearing somewhere in the room. she giggled a little before humming a tune as she got her loom set up for the day.

she blinked and looked away a little, before glancing up at him quizzically, "conflict of intrest?" man you can see her brain buffering, trying to process what he said. "oh- friends," she giggled a little, but she had a slight idea- but didn't want to jump to conclusions- after all- they just met. "and besides- i would want to work somewhere where...it isn't as bright as it is outside," she used a hoof to cover her mouth as she giggled, "but since you have been here longer than I have- what places would you recommend to go see first?...not related to work or jobs or anything like that. just as a tourist."
