So, I have a trading system to talk about - and alot of us already use it.
I am here to tell you about the +2 rule
Do you like trading your bulk for high lists?
Do you like trading high lists, for bulk?
Do you find that trying to trade lists for bulk rares can be confusing or annoying?
Or maybe you're new, and you have a ton of new rares - but you want different, older rares?
Heck, maybe you're tired of trying to trade regular old rares, for some newer rares - But it always seems unfair?
Who knows, maybe you're like me - and simply don't really use C$, but that's the go-to method everyone values things at.
What if i told you, there's a trading system meant to bridge that gap exactly?
That's where the +2 Method comes in!
In it's simplest form, +2 can be explained like this:
1 2010 rare = 2 2011 rares = 4 2012 rares = 6 2013 rares = 8 2014 rares = 10 2015 rares = 12 2016 rares = 14 2017 rares = 16 2018 rares = 18 2019 rares = 20 2020 rares = 22 2021 rares = 24 2022 rares = 26 2023 rares = 28 2024 rares
For clarity - i would like to note that this is doable with ANY year, and ANY normal rare+!
Say you want 2024 rares for your 2016 rare? 1 2016 rares = 2 2017 rares = 4 2018 rares = 6 2019 rares = 8 2020 rares = 10 2021 rares = 12 2022 rares = 14 2023 rares = 16 2024 rares
Basically take any year you want - and go up 2 rares per year after that. so 1 2016 = 16 2024 rares, because its 2x 8 years as its an 8 year difference!
So say you want to turn a 2021 rare into 2024's? 1 2021 = 2 2022 = 4 2023 = 6 2024
2x3, since it's a 3 year difference! You don't count the starting year, just the others! and you'll always come out to the right amount!

+2 Is meant to be a simplistic trading version that was more heavily used before the C$ value script was introduced. Before C$ became the cornerstone of valuing all trades - it was the easiest way to trade. A lot of users swapped to valuing everything by C$ shortly after, and it has become the go to now.
And for users like me - that makes it confusing, annoying, and very vastly different to what i'm used to - then i realized users may not know about this method!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Now, let's see if i can change your mind about C$, trading, and the +2 Method!
If i asked if you know how to use the C$ values, you'd likely say of course! C$ is easy to understand - of course you use that; Horror already has an easy guide for that!
Well yes, he does...but what about users who are doing pet for pet trades - when C$ isn't involved? What about the people who don't want to buy and sell for C$ - as it doesn't appease to them?
Well, before get into it - lets take a look at horror's guide.
RARES ACROSS YEARS (C$-wise)
2008/2009 Rare === ['10/'11 Rare + EUC] === [2] '12-'14 Rares === [3] '15-'17 R === [4] '18-'19 R === [5] '20-'23 R === [6-7] '24 R
2010/2011 Rare === ['12-'14 Rare + EUC] === [2] '15-'17 Rares === [2-3] '18-'19 R === [3-4] '20-'23 R === [5] '24 R
2012-2014 Rare === ['15-'17 Rare + EUC] === [2] '18-'19 Rares === [2-3] '20-'23 R === [3-4] '24 R
2015-2017 Rare === ['18-'19 Rare + EUC] === [2] '20-'23 Rares === [3] '24 R
2018-2019 Rare === ['20-'23 Rare + EUC] === [2] '24 Rare
2020-2023 Rare === ['24 Rare + EUC]
Notice how it says "RARES ACROSS YEARS (C$-wise)" before he lists the amounts? That's because this method is basing all of the math, on C$ - not just pets for pets.
But, that's because there's not currently any other reliable methods that work - and there's not alot of other easy methods to turn a Cerb into 2024 rares XD
So, that means Horror's is the current only reliable guide for trading between years
So we all know horror's list explains this is based on C$ pricing - Not based of trading pets for pets. So why do we use it for that?
And thats what I end up asking myself every time i try to trade bulk pets.
A lot of users base all trades on what each pets c$ price is - but ive never really been one to use c$ for rares+, especially not list pets.
And it always leaves me annoyed - because why would i base a pet for pet trade, on a currency not even involved in the trade?
and it hit me: There has to be a better way! XD
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Ok ok, i know - overused joke (But i bet those shark tank fans will love it!)
But seriously, why are we trading our pets, for other pets - and using a currency scale that has no merit when its not involved in that trade.
Well, thats because there's no better option.
I mean yeah, here on CS, you'll hear alot of people say "Oh, i just use 2:1!" but they never actually do.
But hey, there's good reason for that.
Here, lets take a look at what 2:1 actually looks like on a mass scale between years:
1 2009 rare = 2 2010 rares = 4 2011 rares = 8 2012 rares = 16 2013 rares = 32 2014 rares = 64 2015 rares = 128 2016 rares = 256 2017 rares = 512 2018 rares = 1024 2019 rares = 2048 2020 rares = 4096 2021 rares = 8196 2022 rares = 16,392 2023 rares = 32,784 2024 rares.
That is insane, not possible, and simply not something anyone would ever trade - for an 09 rare.
But, people always say 2:1, you even see it in tons of people's bio's, right?
That's because it worked, halfway at least, back when the old list was around - well before horror.
but even then it was few and far between - and only if you were desperate imo
It also works, when you're only going up 1 year, or 2. Especially with commons and stuff, most people love a good 2:1 -
But it seems like it's only good for small trades, between 1-3 years, and only when people are a part of the 2:1 community.

Ok ok - lets take a step back. Hear where i'm coming from, right? I am personally, a high list mainly store list trader. I have over 40k pets on my account, open for trade. I have over 40 Nons worth of value between my locked and unlocked pets. My account was made in 2015, and I have been here for almost 10 years. I have done thousands of trades through the years, and i understand how the trading economy has changed. I have seen Countless trading methods, trying to change that system. I have also seen many usable methods fail, simply because alot of users don't want to change the systems. I know it's not likely to actually change our systems, but I have been trading list pets, old pets, stores, random rares throughout the years, and even just random unc and below for bulk - for over 3 years now. Solely using the method i am proposing. So i know it works, and other people use it. So i have to believe its at least possible
I have turned Cerbs into 2024 rares, multiple times.
In all my years on CS, this is simply something most people never do. Why? Because its grueling, annoying, tiresome - and always ends with trying to calculate some kind of C$ price into a trade that has no C$ involved. Every now and then, i may trade 1 or 2 things off for a good C$ deal, but i very rarely trade my rares+ for C$ - so the previous methods always baffled me.
If you prefer to base all rares on C$ prices, then please disregard this method. This method is made for and based upon bulk trading to help newer players, bulk traders, trade downers, etc. It is not based around C$ trades.
I often trade down my bulk rares using this method rather than the 2:1 rule because of the sheer amount of rares that would be required to make bulk trades like the ones I do 'fair'.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
That's exactly why i use 2:1+2, and here's why i think you should too!
The +2 rule is just like the 2:1 rule, but instead of saying:
1 2010 rare = 2 2011 rares = 4 2012 rares = 8 2013 rares = 16 2014 rares = 32 2015 rares = 64 2016 rares = 128 2017 rares = 256 2018 rares = 512 2019 rares = 1,024 2020 rares = 2,048 2021 rares = 4,096 2022 rares = 8,192 2023 rares = 16,384 2024 rares
You would say:
1 2010 rare = 2 2011 rares = 4 2012 rares = 6 2013 rares = 8 2014 rares = 10 2015 rares = 12 2016 rares = 14 2017 rares = 16 2018 rares = 18 2019 rares = 20 2020 rares = 22 2021 rares = 24 2022 rares = 26 2023 rares = 28 2024 rares
Personally, I would much rather see a trading system where you give 28 2024 rares for 1 2010 rare, than 16,000 2024 rares for 1 2010 rare. It just doesn't make sense that 1 single pet is worth that many other pets.
Let's say for example, I want a pet worth 1 NON and I want to trade only 2016 rares for it.
Using the standard price of 100 2010 rares = 1 NON, if I follow the normal 2:1 rule I would need to pay 6,400 2016 rares for 1 non. Or, if I use the 2:1+2 rule, I would need to pay 1200 2016 rares.
To me, it seems much more reasonable to use the 2:1+2 rule in these kind of situations, as infrequent as they may be. So that is the ruleset i follow - and have been for over 3 years.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Below i will prove this method works, that i use it, and that it's simpler than it seems to turn a cerb into 2024 rares!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Next, i want to address a big concern most users tend to not think about:
C$ does not stack.
When we value lists, C$ does not stack. 1 MA is 300-400 c$, 1N is 10MA, 1N is also 2K-3K C$.
The same goes with store pets - you would not give a store pet for 2-3 2016 rares, but they're worth the same amount of C$, so even the current method doesn't always work - for all areas of trading. 2:1+2, however, could bridge those gaps.
Yes, i am aware - it's sometimes more valuable in C$, and if someone were to sell the rares, they'd get more C$ than the value of the other pet - But not all users sell for C$, or really even buy rares with C$, and it's not fair to value those trades with a currency that is not part of the trade.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I really want to hear your feedback, work out the issues, and see if this is viable and something that really would work for most users. If we all agree, like it, and want to use it - then it wouldn't be hard to implement. It's not very far off when you think about it!

Now - a ton of users already use this method, but it's not standard across all users yet. I'm hoping by creating this thread and showing users how we can bridge those gaps, we could implement this in every area of trading. Chances are, you've probably even done those trades before without even realizing it! Please, talk about your experiences, share your thoughts, or improvements, critics, everything! Together, we can make this a standard and no longer will pet only trades be taxed by C$!! XD
