indentationWelcome to the land of Marumis! Marumis are small, fluffy little dragons with large ears and even larger hearts. They live in Maru World: a magical land filled with whimsy and adventure. With the turn of the season, marumis everywhere gather at the great central city, Starvale. Going on now is the annual Fall Folly Festival. You can find every manner of Autumn activity at the fairgrounds: apple picking, pumpkin carving, carriage rides, food stalls, craft ware tables, and don’t forget carnival games. Enjoy the season’s offerings, make merry, but do watch out for any shady marus that may be out for some mischief.

2.b Your marumi must be approved. Unofficial marumis are not valid.


3. You can join with as many of your marumis as you can handle to roleplay.


4. This roleplay is non-canon. You can give your marumi powers/lore/backstory that does not follow official species lore.


5. This rp is open to all writing skill levels.
5.b It is encouraged your posts be at least 6 sentences per character. No maximum, go ham.


6. Feral only. No anthro/humanoid marumis please.
6.b They’re magical dragons, if you run into an issue because paws, just use magic c;


7. Do not have your marumi abuse their magical powers. Do not control/injure someone else’s maru without permission.


8. This is an open roleplay, come and go as you please.
8.b If you are interacting with someone and will be gone for an extended time, it’s polite to give a heads up in the discussion thread.


9. Fill out a form for each marumi and wait for approval to post in the roleplay.

Starvale
The great central city of Maru World. Located in the East, by the coastline and the main sea port. Starvale is a castle town. Marumis live in quaint little stone cottages along the hills, and at the bottom of the valley is the town square. The legendary marumis, the marus that keep the world in harmony, live in Starvale Castle. The castle sits at the very top of the hills. A shining beacon of hope made from white stone that shimmers in the moonlight.

Fairgrounds
Located in Starvale, at the town square, is the fairgrounds. Currently the Fall Folly Festival is being hosted at the fairgrounds. Everyone enters through the banner arch that reads: Fall Folly Festival. To the left is an avenue of stalls that sell homemade wares. To the right is the food aisle, stalls offer every meal a maru is used to. To go on ahead would be to pass a stage with a singing bard and some talented minstrels. Further still would be the pumpkin patch to the left and on the right, a great bonfire. At the very end of the fairgrounds is the sprawling expanse of carnival games.

Aquatic Kingdom
Further East, beneath the Shining Sea, is the Aquatic Kingdom. Mer-marumis and those others with fins live in an underwater oasis. Most live in coral homes nestled in a kelp forest. There are deep sea marumi that live further still, in the depths. It’s unknown what goes on so far below, but rumors say some legendary marumi reside there.

Great Wood
The Great Wood is to the West of Starvale. The trees are ancient and full of magic. Fairy marumis make their homes among the mushrooms and flora of the forest. Many villagers will travel to the Great Wood to barter with the fae folk. All hoping to walk away with magical items or spell ingredients foraged there.

Dark Lands
On Starvale’s Southern border is the Dark Lands. Seedy folk live in this mysterious land. The sky is always overcast. The plants are unfriendly, having thorns, poison, or creeping vines to keep marus on their toes. It’s rumored that the underground is rich with precious gems. Marumis of the Dark Lands are protective of their secrets. A Starvaler would say you can’t trust a Dark Lander, they’re always up to no good.
