I'd recommend waiting until the end of the event before trading for banner pets, often you'll be able to find them yourself or other people will get them/get doubles and trade them making the demand go down. (sorry this didn't help you much this year)

The orange worm is a little different because everyone only gets one shot at it. Free pets are the most annoying because of that. Usually pets like the worm end up only being (some form of) uncommon after the rarities are released, though occasionally they might be rare. Once the event is over it's demand will likely go down a little but it might still be harder to track down.

The next big event is the Christmas event! There's no token hunting in that one so no banner pets.

like i mentioned in the edit, i thankfully have all 3 banner foxes now so i don't have to worry about it anymore. and it's all good really, honestly i kinda knew i most likely wouldn't get all 3 through the actual banners considering how busy i've been during the event.

and yeah i was definitely expecting the free pets to be a bit more annoying to complete, but again, probably something i'm gonna need to get used to. i have a feeling that the orange worm in particular's gonna be either very uncommon or extremely uncommon rarity wise, but rare is definitely possible.

Imagine these two for a 3rd gen litter. Definitely not me saying this because they both have that "tail around circle thingy" going on for both of them.

it's actually crazy how rare that caterpillar is. did someone hoard it on day one? I wouldn't blame them, I would too if I had the... finances. or was it just really rare?
at this point I might trade a non dupe for it, like I'd say bye bye to a token pet tbh.

People were desperately trying to trade for it day 1 too, tons of people didn't get it. My guess is it's going to be extremely uncommon or rare. I know demand makes pets seem far more valuable than they are, but ever since it released the trade thread has been flooded with people trying to get one and it's never died down. There are less people trying to get the blue banner fox now than the caterpillar, and based off of past events the fox will be a rare. And the vast majority of people are just trying to get one to finish their collection.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what rarity it ends up being. I don't think I'm wrong to value it more as a token pet than a freebie, but we'll find out!

I can’t wait for rarities (lol demands wut?) to come out. From what I can tell in the chat I feel like the foxes might be a euc or ofc just rare.

I have 156 tokens and got only one Banner Pet. Others nearly got spammed with them. Cant get my mind behind that

I 159 tokens and got 5 Banner Pets (the most I have ever gotten); 3 red foxes and 2 blue.

i clicked all 300 banners, got 7 foxes total! (4 red, 2 white, 1 blue)

For me the stats were 300 banners, 6 pets (2 red, 3 white, and 1 blue)
