Pound lag getting worse?

super frustrating - I've been to 6 openings now to click on the first rare I see, but 'oh no it's been taken'! so I have to wait till refresh since every other pet on the page is taken too and the refreshed page is... also taken and the count goes from 1k something to 400-600. not even worth it anymore.

During events you can usually get really good pets at 500 or so

I’m willing to bet a decent amount of the current lag is because of the event as well. Not saying it isn’t laggy, It definitely is, there’s just a much higher amount of players during events 👍

Lag in general is getting worse. We were just talking about this :( I wasn’t even going to do pound and my game became unplayable (on mobile. Data too!)

In all fairness tonights lag came from Pound being around the same time as the new halloween adopts rush ;o;

I heard that PHP code nowadays is quite obsolete and I think that's what CS uses and that most people use python. Like hardly any websites use PHP code anymore apparently from what I heard by someone

Honestly I do not do the pound on mobile anymore because the lag is so bad sometimes the site doesn't even load for three full refreshes. It's always specifically mobile, it doesn't matter what device nor what wifi.

this! yesterday I was at the ortho (so not completely cs fault, could've also been wifi) and had been waiting for pound, constantly refreshing with no problems. the pound opened and I didn't see anything I liked, so I refreshed a few times. I saw a 2009 dog (I don't remember which one) and began spam tapping the button to adopt it. finally, it took me to a page that said it had already been adopted.

same thing happened just now and ended up getting a 2023 very common

edit: in all honesty, it may also have high traffic due to the event. usually I see 500-600 people online but I've seen a bit more than 1000 people recently. either way, shouldn't cause lag, especially with a forum game. when you combine guests, there really isn't a lot of people online.

Maybe mobile is deprecating the support for PHP code (which is what CS uses as far as I'm aware) so that could contribute to the lag on there
There's also the reason of an influx of users like I said
CS should add a ping thing that tells you how much ping you have at a certain time kinda like how fortnite and other similar games do
Higher ping indicating more traffic and lag and lower ping indicating less traffic and more smoother less lag experience

It's repeated a lot that this is due to events, and sure, it definitely is, but it... shouldn't be?
The entire site becoming nigh-unusable for a good 10 minutes after rollover every day and again during pounds during events shouldn't be a normal occurrence. It's a problem that needs to be worked on!

The reasoning then is likely high amounts of traffic then. That's the most logical explanation

This is absolutely true, the first 10-20 minutes after roll over it's been so bad that even getting tokens is a lengthy experience.

it happens to me too and im on my laptop, i noticed the lag as soon as the new pets dropped today, and 30 minutes to 1 hour later while trading. so maybe its full server lag, not just the pound.
