I find that it helps slow me down so I have more chances at the new banner pets though!

But I'm actually making a conscious decision to not use a timer this year, I want to pace myself in the beginning. I hate that I usually only have 50-100 attempts at the last banner pet every single year. I really wish they would just release all banner pets from the beginning. It would give them all a similar rarity and we would actually be able to litterswap fairly.

interesting strategy. i'm picky about pets so i usually hoard tokens until there's pets i actually want. then at the end i spend all my tokens on random pets for trading purposes. what do you mean 50-100 attempts?

i like the spacing because then there's something to look forward to everyday, it's like a little rush of excitement/dopamine that keeps you engaged throughout the whole event. if they just dumped all the pets on day 1 people could be overwhelmed. plus having all the pets at once means you'd have to save up a lot of tokens all at once so it just feels like a chore, vs them being spaced out means you have time to collect tokens. and them being spaced out means the event lasts longer which is awesome and it gives people chances to catch up if they miss a day or smth. overall i think it's a really smart choice.

i've always seen litterswaps as fair? like freebies for freebies and token pets for token pets. and don't they usually have similar rarities?

The first one is usually 200 or 250 from what I have heard. When enough people have hit it, it will be raised.
But I don't have any propper knowlegde about that because I just returned late 2023 from a ten year absence xD

Yeah, the first limit is usually 200, then it's later raised to 250 and then finally to 300. This is the usual standard, but there has been variations to the limits and raises in the past.

And the fastest banner hunters can easily get 50+ banners per day, meaning they hit the first limit on day 4 which is typically the day the 2nd banner pet is dropped. That means they only have about 100 banners to get that pet. And they will most likely hit the new limit within 24 hours of it being raised meaning they will only get 50 banners to get the final banner pet.

I used to be one of these fast banner hunters before I got a job and even now with a job I'm still too fast for my liking because the event always start on a weekend meaning I can easily get more than 100 banners done within the first couple of days way before the 2nd banner pet drops.

So now I'm trying to pace myself by banning a timer before all banner pets are released... Just to see if that helps me. Currently at 70 banners x3

Same. I lost a ton of time due to spotty connection and having to attend a wedding.

But I did get a banner pet on like my 13th one so, I guess that's something?
