Did not know that. That’s interesting.
I had to relearn so many names…it’s been awhile since I watched the movies.
I can definitely see how difficult that would be! I’m still very connected to this fandom in my own way so I haven’t forgotten names. When I started, though, I used to get so confused by elf names and human names that sounded similar. Luckily for me I stick with Dwarves and their names are so easy to remember!

His name really does sound like it could be an elf name. Faramir too.
Yeah…he didn’t make it far.
Someone made a stupid but funny meme with one of them bringing the dad a four cheese pizza, and they write words at the bottom of the two pictures. So it’s ’I brought you a four cheese pizza.’ Then the king being like ‘Your brother (I don’t remember which ones name it was so I’ve replaced it with Your brother) would have brought five cheese.’
Anyway!
Definitely Merry and pippin.
Who’s your favorite elf?
Mine has to be Legolas or Aragorn and Arwen’s son (I haven’t seen his name enough times to remember it but I saw they have a son and two daughters.)
Speaking of, I’m amused Elrond has two sons and one daughter.
While Arwen has two daughters and one son.

I suppose the only elf I only really like is Galadriel because she's from the Noldor lineage, who were kinder to Dwarves in the past, and she held alliance with the Dwarves of Moria during the Second Age. And she was nice to Gimli too :3 I like that Galadriel is wise but also has a history of rebellion. I think a lot of people underestimate how powerful she is because she's not out there in the battlefield.
I think the genders of the children post-War of the Ring makes sense. Before, Middle-earth was waning and there was little hope. I read an article for my Master's that suggested this was reflected in the minor roles and appearances of female characters in LOTR. With the One Ring destroyed and Middle-earth entering the Fourth Age, it would make sense that there would be a resurgence of female births, especially in the Age of Men.

I have started the Silmarillion (let’s hope I can stick with it) as I got it for my birthday two days ago! Currently now on the Quenta Silmarillion chapter, so far it’s been very fun and not as difficult as some people make it out to be, but I have only just started haha! I figure that it’s much easier to go about it if you read it like a history book, which so far, has made more sense to me. There’s a ton of characters and it’s not really a story like The Hobbit or TLOTR, as there are multiple stories and tales within it!
Anyways, my favorite part, so far, was Melkor causing trouble for the other Valar LOL I like to imagine that everyone was singing beautifully in a choir and Melkor was improvising some heavy metal XD
