Mitzi Brassbottle||Knight-Solvale||King's Quarters||Tagged: Orion
Mitzi was never really one for parties.

Aside from the obvious fact that she almost always had something better to do (or at least something she'd rather be doing), crowds tended to set the gnome on edge. Uncharacteristic of her, perhaps, but then she wasn't the average gnome. Still, it wasn't as though she had a choice in the matter. She was still a knight, and her place in these things was at her sovereign's side. Or, more accurately, outside the door, while he calmed his nerves running through his speech for the fifteenth time. Not the worst place to be, for a party, it gave her time to work on her project.

"You're on in fifteen, your Majesty," She reminded him, pouring a glass of water from the dispenser on the wall. Her invention, that, a magi-tech cooler that produced ice-cold water at the pull of a button. The water reservoir had to be replenished regularly, she hadn't got permission to run new plumbing lines to it, but she was still proud of it. "Should I get the Bernard to make something for your nerves?"

Andromeda Wispearl
25 | Female | Solvale Heir
Location: Balcony Doors
Tagged: Nova, Bernard
She dipped in a quick curtsey in response to her brother. She was sure that the other royal family will be arriving soon - and her father. Even with just Nova joining her, it was starting to become even more real. She brushed down some invisible dust off the bodice of her dress - a light, mint green, calf-length gown, with a long, v-neck collar, with one full sleeve of the same mint green as the rest of the dress, and the other made of a clear, sheer organza material with several jewels dotted on it that looked like they were on her own skin, and a slightly darker green corset belt around her waist. Her low heels were also a shiny mint green, and her silver tiara had green jewels embedded into it. "Not long to go now." Andromeda commented, clasping her hands together to stop any nervous rubbing of her hands or picking at the jewels on the sheer sleeve. Not a typical habit for her, but she sometimes did it when she was particularly nervous, especially when she'd been younger.

Then, as Bernard - the Court Physician - approached, she smiled warmly at him as well. He always seemed to have a cure for everything, and seemed to be particularly dedicated to the royal family. "Thank you for asking, Bernard. I'm feeling just fine." Andromeda replied. Absolutely perfect. No doubt her father had asked Bernard to ensure there was nothing that could go wrong with today - and the rest of the week. That was something that made her a little nervous. She knew her father would expect everything to go perfectly, absolutely nothing could go wrong. That's what she wanted as well. Things to go perfectly. Because if it didn't... she didn't want to think about it. "Well... maybe a little something for the nerves, if you have it. Although I may manage without."

Atlas Drake
26 | Male | Maraqua Knight
Location: Castle Corridor
Tagged: Keenan, Adria, Caelum
As he stood waiting, Atlas leaned a little more on his trident for balance. It had been a very long time since he'd been out of the water, and certainly never for this long. He couldn't quite understand how other Maraquans took to their land forms so easily, as he glanced towards Keenan, who seemed to be perfectly fine with standing on legs.
One by one, the Maraquan royals exited their rooms - first Adria, the younger one, in a dress that was decidedly not the one she'd been told to wear, but the Queen of Maraqua made no comment. Perhaps it was easier to not argue at this point. Besides, the dress was still suitable for the occasion, Atlas thought. Then, the heir, Caelum exited his room. Atlas bowed briefly to each one in turn, waiting until the Queen had started walking before he moved again.

He heard Caelum's comment towards Adria, glancing towards the prince and princess very quickly before refocusing ahead of him. The Queen reiterated the schedule for the evening - first the balcony appearance, where she and the King of Solvale would be making speeches, introducing Caelum and the Solvale princess, Andromeda, together and then they would all go down to the courtyard to join the other nobles, knights and invited guests, mingling and socialising. She also mentioned giving the two knights with them currently - Atlas and Keenan - a break during their time in the courtyard to also properly enjoy the event. To which Atlas replied, quietly, "Perhaps for a short while, Majesty," although he did not intend to do so.

Ah - a servant? Well, no wonder he didn't recognise her. He should have looked properly before speaking, but that was on him. If it weren't for the fact that she was from Maraqua, and that they were surrounded by other people, Damion would have replied scathingly. Since he had to keep a good impression of Solvale for the visitors, however, he held his tongue - he was meant to be helping represent the kingdom, after all. What would he possibly have in common, or have to say, to a servant, though? And one from Maraqua, at that. Though he'd managed to hold back from grimacing, he was sure that his surprise would be quite clear on his face, so he quickly changed his expression to be more neutral.
"I'm sure it is," he finally spoke again, his tone joking, before adding, more seriously, "I see they have you helping out here rather than inside." he finished the rest of his drink, carefully setting the empty glass on Cade's tray and picking up one of the few full glasses that were left on there.

As he tried to think of something else to say, they were approached by another noble - the dragon Duchess, Seraphina - who loudly commented as she approached. Damion turned towards her. "I think you'll find I'm full of surprises, Seraphina," he said, a little tightly - a phrase that held much more truth to it than he would ever admit openly. "Would you have me spurn away our guests instead?" Damion asked, raising an eyebrow.

Katrina was meant to be out in the courtyard, mingling with everyone else and no doubt freaking them out a little. Instead, she had moved through the almost-empty castle and arrived at Bernard Illsbury's Physician Quarters. As long as she was in the courtyard when the royal families made their appearance on the balcony, she was sure that she wouldn't be missed, but she didn't have a lot of time. She knocked on the door, once, twice... three times. No answer. She tried the door - it was locked. Katrina scowled for a moment. Locked doors posed no issue for her - she could teleport into the room or simply walk through the wall, after all - but she did have some morals about not going into a room without being invited, especially a locked one. Fine. She'd just have to come back later, she bet the Physician was enjoying the festivities, which... was honestly understandable.

She teleported in a small puff of smoke that swirled around before fading away, and reappeared in the same way in the courtyard... where she'd ended up almost on top of someone else, having appeared directly in front of them. Unfortunately, teleporting did not account for who or what was in the area that Katrina teleported to, since she'd have to focus on a specific place and spot to appear in. "Oops," Katrina said, though did not sound sorry in the slightest, "guess that's what happens when I choose to teleport into a busy place instead of walk." She did not make an effort to move away from the other person, only half-smiling at them, as though amused at the situation.

Nova Wispearl- m- 23 y- Solvale ‘Spare’- Homosexual- crush: Atlas, Kaelan- Tags: Andromeda, Bernard

The boy watched as his sister curtsied to him, his head tilted. He nodded at her, accompanied by a bow then straightened up. His wings fluttered a bit, then he stilled their motions. His shirt was a purple silk shirt, and the bottoms were a fine material too. He honestly wished he could wear skirts or dresses sometimes…That or shirts/tops that would resemble a dress. Shaking that out of mind, he glanced around a moment. Staring off of the balcony for a bit as he seemed to get lost in thought. He then looked to his sister once more. He nodded as he looked at her, saying “Y…Yeah.” He could seem to feel the nerves coming from her, though she was clearly trying to hide it. He watched as she even clasped her hands together.

He remembered how she’d done that even when they were younger. He knew it was to stop herself from picking at anything or rubbing her hands together. He nearly jumped as he heard another voice. Looking to see that the court physician was there. He said “I, um…I'm nervous too. If Andromeda wants something for the nerves, I’ll take a bit as well.” He felt nervous for his sister…but also because of all these people. The other royal family and their servants and knights would all be there. Crowds tended to make him become nervous. He’d always been like this, ever since he was very young. Old enough to understand that it was people that made him nervous, but young enough to cry about it. He wasn’t that young anymore, of course.

Dominique Morres- f- 26 y- Royal Gardener- Faerie- pan; Seraphina- Amos x Annabelle: Marcus- Tags

The cocoa skinned and deeply dark brown eyed woman was out in the garden. She was the Royal gardener, after all. She realized maybe she should be inside, with others. She wasn’t quite sure if she was allowed…but she knew the servants and such were in there. She wasn’t really ready to do that, though. She hummed quietly as she worked with her plants, digging up some spots. She then took some lovely white and red flowers. Common colors associated with love and weddings. She began to place them in holes, and fill the holes back in. The curly haired dark haired woman soon finished doing this. She wiped a hand over her forehead, then gasped. She realized she’d likely gotten dirt or mud onto her forehead…Shaking her head, she headed inside. She headed for a sink, where she washed her forehead and her hands, and she took her sun hat off now. She smiled as she looked around. She went back to her space to change into a dress rather than shirt and overalls, then headed back again.

Marinn Quinto- f- 26 y- Servant- Kelpie- pan; Seraphina- knight x nursemaid- Tags: Kaelan

The creamy peachy skinned one hummed quietly as she stood there. Resisting the urge to lift her hands to her hair. She wanted to brush at it out of nervous habit, but she couldn’t do that now. Her hair was done up all pretty, after all, so she couldn’t touch it. Just as she was thinking this, someone approached her. She knew by the way he was dressed he must be another servant. Though clearly not from Maraqua. She dipped her head to him a moment, then couldn’t help but giggle. She finally spoke up, saying “Hello. My name is Marinn, what’s your name?” she asked, deciding she may as well. Just because they were servants didn’t mean they couldn’t talk to each other. They were both servants, so there was nothing wrong with this.

Keenan Wittmore- m- 25 y- Knight- Siren- homosexual; Kaelan, Atlas- Date/ SO is open- may want to have or adopt kids one day but isn’t really sure about it- George x Nina: Hyram, Issa, Morgan- Tags: Atlas, Caelum, Adria (queen)

The curly haired golden-brown haired male hummed quietly a bit. He then quickly silenced himself, and let his eyes wander to Atlas again. He watched the other male lean on the trident. He had his own weapon as well, likely another trident. He wasn’t going to tell anyone, but he was used to land because of his family. His mother or a rebellious aunt had brought him to the surface a couple times. It wasn’t like they weren’t allowed to. They just usually tended to stay in the water. He blinked as he watched Adria appear. She was wearing a dress that surely hadn’t been picked out by the Queen…He shook his head, and glanced over as Caelum then appeared. He nodded his head to the heir, then listened as the other scolded Adria.

He nearly smirked at this, but kept himself in check. Then again, Caelum was the heir and would be the future king. Therefore, he was definitely allowed to speak to his sister that way. Keenan knew she wasn’t going to appreciate it, though. He shook his head, and walked alongside the other knight. Now following the queen and her two children along. He glanced around a bit as they walked, taking in the look of the place. He had to think it was really a nice place, though he still preferred Maraqua. Still, Solvale did have its charms. Such as the two servants he saw at one point as they passed. He wasn’t into girls, but the guy (Kaelan) was cute. Though Atlas was handsome, so different were the two, Keenan was attracted to him too.

He quickly blinked and looked up.

Nodding to the queen and muttering “A short break will work.”

Bernard Illsbury | 34 | Male | Royal Physician | Balcony Doors -> Physician's Quarters | Tags: Andromeda, Nova
He was not at all surprised by the answers he received. Not only was it natural for them to be nervous, they were certainly showing it. Still, as much as something deep inside him longed to see where this would take them, he nods at their requests. "Very well. I will do my best to craft a cure for both of your nerves." He turns to go, but quickly turns back. "I'm sure everything will go perfectly today. Don't worry about it!". He does a quick bow, and then makes his way to the Physician Quarters.
Looking at the door, he could sense that someone had tried getting into it. Well, that wasn't his issue right now. Besides, it was locked. Even if they had a key, it was also locked with magic, a secret that only he knew. Besides, why would anyone else care about the security of his quarters? He unlocks the door and ensures he closes it behind him. Normally he would make all his cures in a room further back, but he figured since everyone was out partying he could afford to make them here. He grabs two vials of water, and places a couple of herbs into each. Once he was certain no one was nearby, he chants a spell to turn the herbal water into a relaxant. Not a super potent one mind you, as entertaining as it would be, he didn't want Andromeda and Nova collapsing in front of everyone. Besides, he wasn't stupid. It would be obvious that it would've been his doing. Now, he just had to wait for the spell to finish.

Orion Wispearl | 61 | Male | Ruler of Solvale | King's Quarters -> Balcony Doors | Tags: Mitzi, Andromeda, Nova
After another round of his speech, he takes the water from Mitzi and chugs it down in one gulp. Not exactly the most regal way of doing it, but he didn't have time for such royalties at the moment. Speaking of time, the 15 minute reminder was enough for him to finally get into gear. "Thank you, Mitzi. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. To tell you the truth, I'm more concerned about Andromeda than anything. I do hope that she is ready for this. I hope that I've prepared her well enough for this moment." He pauses, and looks out the window at all the festivities. Still, he had somewhere to be. "I will be heading to the balcony doors now, Mitzi. If you so wish, you may join the people for the festivities while they last." He nods at her, and makes his way to the balcony doors.
After quickly adjusting his royal attire, he makes his way to the balcony doors, seeing both Andromeda and Nova. "Ah, Andromeda! And Nova! I'm glad to see you're both already here!" He turns to Andromeda. "My dear, you look stunning. I'm certain the Maraqua Heir will take to you in an instant. I do hope that you will reciprocate those feelings." He turns back to the both of them. "Now, I do believe we will start soon. Are you both ready for this?"

her eyes slid to caelum at his comment. don't embarrass the family? is that what he thought of her? her mouth twisted in a frown and she had to bite decidedly hard on her tongue to hold back her remark, recognizing the copper taste of blood filling her mouth. how was she embarrassing the family? all she had done so far was not wear that hideous dress, emphasis on the so. she blew out a controlled breath, something unlike her. it was her brother's presentation. she owed him the dignity of getting it over with and then she could do what she does best apparently - embarrass the family. she was almost glad she would be on the balcony for the presentation. it would allow her to survey the yard and get a good idea of how to circumvent the security in the courtyard and undoubtedly the security her parents would have following her around. they weren't unfamiliar with her escapades and she had sat through one too many lectures about them.

"so," she started, choosing to take a higher ground (for once, usually she would've smacked caelum for that comment), "excited to meet your new fiance? you don't find it slightly odd?" she hummed a bit. "i mean, your a merman. you're not exactly built for staying up here for so long. i mean, even i know i would go insane. so how is it gonna work? you stay here three months of the year and maraqua the other nine?" she could feel the sarcasm bleeding into her words. not intentional - maybe - but she was digging for information. just how much would she be seeing of caelum once he was married off? she hoped it would be more than what she just said, but she had a small inkling that might not be true.

"uh, yes sir..or uh my lord. sorry, your grace" cadence internally cringed. she wasn't sure how to address the man. she did her best to keep her head down in her own kingdom, helping the prince and princess when requested. otherwise she was relegated to cleaning or other aspects of her job. it wasn't that she disliked people, in fact she was always happy to talk if someone talked first. it's just she doesn't know how to speak to royalty or nobles, at least, not yet. she's working on it. she just hoped he wouldn't take offense to her stuttering over his title.

the woman appeared just outside her peripheral vision and it took every ounce of her control to not jump out of her own skin. she barely registered the comment about the duke and his proclivities with servants, but it filtered through eventually. she turned her head slightly, getting a good look at the new approach, who was of course, another noble based on the familiarity between the two. should she bow? curtsey? cadence internally sighed. she liked people and especially liked when they liked her. "oh, thank you!" she commented eagerly in response to seraphina. "i quite like your's a well," she offered in response." her gaze flicked to her tray as damion retrieved one of the few full glasses she had left, noting to herself that she would need to make her exit soon. she couldn't help but stay. to have two solvale nobles speaking to her? it was either luck or a curse...she just needed to find out which.

Caelum Rieth | 27 years old | Male | Heir of Maraqua | He/ Him | Demisexual, Demiromantic | Merman| Tags: Adria, Atlas, Keenan
Caelum remained aloof even as his sister spoke back. She tended to be quite rebellious, but in his eyes she was also ungrateful. She didn't have the burden of the crown, a burden that hung over his head his entire life. Why had she gone against mother's request and wear something that was- in his opinion- unsuitable. He did not voice his opinion, having been taught that opinions don't matter, especially when the good of the people was in mind. He knew Adria was easily riled, and that brought a bit of entertainment to his otherwise bleak world. While he did not show it, he was grateful for his sister's company. Instead of responding to her fire, he remained calm, replying with "I do not know, sister. But, I am willing to agree with whatever would be best for the citizens" He replied, that phrase spoken many times by him in the past. He said that phrase so often, Adria likely expected his reply. He continued to walk, staring ahead and not showing any hint of how he was feeling about the day.

Seraphina Drakonis| 32 years old | Female | Noble of Solvale | She/ Her| Bisexual, Biromantic | Dragon | Tags: Damion, Cadence
Smoothing out her dress, Seraphina smiled, not showing any action to apologize. "Now now, Damion. You can't be putting words in my mouth. I never said that" she says, taking another sip of her drink. She did quite enjoy pissing off Damion, he was quite easy to rile. She knew the boundaries though, and never dared cross them. "Miss Cadence" she says turning towards the servant. "I appreciate your service" she smiles warmly towards the younger female, placing her hand gently on her shoulder. "Tell me, how's Maraqua? I always wondered what differences there were, besides the obvious location, being underwater and all" she asks, wanting to gain knowlage of the unfamiliar kingdom. She had visited a few times before, but didn't spend much time there as her visits were short.

Kaelan Emberheart | 24 years old | Male | Servant of Solvale | He/ Him| Homosexual, Homoromantic | Phoenix | Tags: Marinn
Kaelan was unsure of how the other servant would react to his greeting. He hoped she was kind enough, with both of them being servants and all. He smiled when she greeted him. "I'm Kaelan, nice to meet your acquaintance" he introduced himself in return. "How has your day been so far? Enjoying Solvale's environment?" He asks, "It must be a drastic change to the waters of Maraqua, right?" he adds. He always wondered what the other kingdom looked like, never having been there before. He knew it was underwater, but nothing more than that. He looked around the courtyard as he waited for Marinn's reply, catching the eye of a knight, likely from the other kingdom, given his attire and weapon choice. He was quite handsome, he'd have to admit. He felt his cheeks warm and quickly turned his attention back to Marinn. He wondered if he asked her who that was if it would be obvious he thought the knight was good looking. He decided it would be best to stay quiet about that though.

Elenara Windrider | 21 years old | Female | Noble (Knight) of Maraqua | She/ Her | Bisexual | Elf (water) | Tags: open
Elenara stood by the side door of the courtyard, scanning the guests. She wore her knight attire with armor made from Maractite, her gloves, and her precious sword. While Elenara could use magic quite proficently, hand to hand combat sometimes worked better with a sword, especially an enchanted one such as the one she had. It was a gift to her from her mentor, who retired after causalties from a war a few years ago. Elenara was in charge of ensuring no fights or dangers arise during the ball. She could feel the energy around the courtyard and so far it seemed quite calm, besides the occasional scuffles between the nobles.

The Rieths
"Thank you, Bernard," Andromeda replied, watching as the physician left quickly to go and fix up one of his cures. She was very curious as to how the tiefling was able to create such effective concoctions, but figured it was best not to ask too many questions - he'd never done the family or anyone in the court any harm or wrong, after all. She glanced towards her brother for a moment. "At least we don't have to make a speech today." Andromeda said to Nova, with a slight smile. At least, she wouldn't have to make a speech today, though she knew she'd have to make one at the end of the week - and even if she did end up having to say something today, she had something short that she could say anyway. She had to be always prepared, after all.
She didn't have much time to say anything else, as their father, King Orion, approached them. Andromeda smiled brightly as her father spoke to her, although she felt her stomach tighten a little as he mentioned how he hoped he'd reciprocate any romantic feelings the Maraquan heir would be expected to have for her. The most she hoped for was that the Maraquan heir would be nice. Andromeda nodded as Orion asked if she and Nova were ready. "Yes, father. I am." She said, though she knew that there wouldn't be any other answer acceptable.

Hearing walking and talking from down the corridor, Andromeda turned to see a small group approaching, flanked by a couple of guards that she didn't recognise. The Maraquan Royal Family. Her gaze swept across each of the members, led by the Queen of Maraqua, eventually settling on the prince of the group. The Maraquan heir.

The Wispearls
He listened to the conversation between the royal siblings - it seemed their mother was carefully choosing to ignore what was being said - and he couldn't help but wonder what would be the arrangement after the wedding. He assumed that the actual ceremony wouldn't take place for at least a few months, keeping this week as an engagement party of sorts. But afterwards... perhaps there would be a split of time between kingdoms until a more official, permanent arrangement could be made. Would he - or other Maraquan guards and servants - be reassigned to Solvale? He couldn't imagine it would be fair for Caelum to have to remain in Solvale on his own, with no one else from Maraqua with him. Personally, Atlas would prefer to remain in Maraqua, if he would be able to. There just wasn't anything currently that appealed him to want to stay in Solvale on a long-term basis.

The Queen of Maraqua announced, as they turned a corner, that they were almost there. Up ahead, Atlas saw the trio of Faeries stood by the closed doors that would lead out onto the balcony. The Wispearls - the Solvale Royal Family. He'd never seen Faeries before, and he was quite astonished by each of their large, iridescent wings that shimmered even in just the light of the corridor. It was quite clear who was who - the older Faerie the King, the young woman was the heir and the younger male her brother. Atlas bowed in greeting, while the Queen of Maraqua greeted the Faeries warmly, introducing Caelum to them, and preparing to get into position.

"Your Grace is just fine." Damion replied to the servant - it seemed that she did not have much experience with talking to or addressing nobility, but he would give her a pass for that. Though he wouldn't insist on anything informal, of course.
He narrowed his eyes at his fellow noble, trying not to get too irritated or respond sharply. Perhaps he was a little too easy to rile up, and he could tell that Seraphina seemed to take some enjoyment out of it - though admittedly it never went too far. If it weren't for the fact that he was more interested in his own goals and preservation, he perhaps would let himself be more jokey and have a proper back-and-forth banter with Seraphina. No, he could only look out for himself. Damion did glance at Cadence again, though, as Seraphina was asking her about Maraqua, taking a sip from the glass while the dragon spoke, waiting until there was a pause in the conversation. "Yes, Cadence - I'd like to know a bit more about Maraqua too. I've never been to Maraqua, I'd be curious to hear about it from your... perspective." He had a genuine interest, but his question was calculated, wondering if Cade would only have positive things to say about her home kingdom, or if she'd dare share anything negative about the kingdom or even her employers. He'd truly never been, and had never had the opportunity to go either. A kingdom entirely underwater honestly didn't sound too appealing, but, again, he was curious to know what a servant from it thought.

Well. Not much else to do while waiting but scout the area. Maybe plant a tiny bit of trouble - nothing major, just whispering to a noble that another noble had said something bad about them, and then watching the ensuing, hushed argument. Or... Katrina looked across the courtyard as a servant carried a fresh tray of drinks, her eyes glowing gold for just a second, and the servants tripped - fortunately not dropping the tray, and only spilling a few of the drinks slightly. Almost a shame that there wasn't a big incident - but she was impressed at how quickly the servant had recovered. Figuring she had already pushed her luck for creating some semblance of entertainment for herself, Katrina decided that she should do some proper socialising and finding out more about the guests that milled in the courtyard. But with whom - that was the question. Spotting a young knight that was from Maraqua, who seemed to be on duty instead of enjoying herself - and, she thought, seemed to be very young and like a noble for a knight - Katrina approached.
"An entirely new kingdom and you're still put on duty?" Katrina commented, once she was close enough to be noticed and heard by the knight. She folded her arms, casually, "Wouldn't you rather be socialising?" She asked, but didn't wait for an answer as she continued, "Katrina Casus, my dear," she introduced herself, "Royal Advisor to the Solvale Royal Family."

Nova Wispearl- m- 23 y- Solvale ‘Spare’- Homosexual- crush: Atlas, Kaelan- significant other/date is open- he’d like to have kids, adopt them, if he could, but he doesn’t have to- Tags: Andromeda, Bernard, Orion, the Rieths, Atlas, Keenan

The boy nervously fluttered his wings again, then shook his head a couple times and smiled at the physician before he left. He quickly said “Thank you,” as well, then watched as the older man headed off to make his concoction, his cure for them. He glanced to his sister again, and silently wondered if she was wondering how the Tiefling did what he did. They probably shouldn’t actually wonder, since mixing herbs and medicines obviously wasn’t anything magical or such. It was actually probably quite simple to mix herbs and make medicines, as long as one actually knew what they were doing. He quickly looked up again, having looked down a moment, and nodded as he said “I’m glad we won’t have to make any speeches today.”

He then looked up and over as he heard the sound of the king and their father, Orion, making his way over to the two of them. He dipped his head a moment to the man, though the older faerie was mainly only speaking to Andromeda at the moment. Since the man had said both their names, though, and that he was glad to see them both there, he said “Yes, father.” He felt his own stomach drop or tighten as the king mentioned reciprocating the feelings of the Maraquan heir… but what if there were none? This was just a betrothal, the two may not end up actually falling in love with each other at all. He said “I’m ready,” then looked over and nearly blushed as the first person he noticed was the quite handsome knight…as well as the one beside him.

The cocoa skinned and deeply dark brown eyed woman smoothed down her dress a bit, a dress that was a deeply red color. The faerie fluttered her large and iridescent wings, then made herself keep her wings still and she let out a small sigh. She headed into the party, as everyone was expected to be there since it was such a special day for the two kingdoms. She glanced around, eyes landing on a very lovely lady, but…she saw a servant as well as a male noble with the woman. She knew the woman to be Seraphina, a female noble of Solvale, and the man was Damion, a male noble of Solvale. She has no clue who the girl was, though, seeing as the girl was clearly not from their kingdom so she must be from the Maraquan kingdom.

Marinn Quinto- f- 26 y- Servant- Kelpie- pan; Seraphina- knight x nursemaid- Tags: Kaelan

The creamy peachy skinned one glanced over for a moment. She found herself staring at a woman smoothing down her dress. The woman was with Cadence, who was a fellow servant. There was also a male noble she didn’t recognize, he must be from Solvale. She quickly turned her attention back to Kaelan. She smiled and nodded at him, saying “It’s nice to make your acquaintance.” She then tilted her head a bit. He’d asked how her day was, and if she was enjoying the environment. She nodded and said “Oh, it’s been a fine day. I’m definitely enjoying this place, which is probably because I’m an equine species. It’s not like I have to be in water all the time. I’m…a Kelpie, are you a faerie or some other species?” she asked. She then nodded and said “It is quite different. It’s not underwater, for one thing, but the architecture here is just as beautiful. I’m sure the flowers and such are beautiful too.” She then noticed him looking at someone, and let out a soft giggle.

Keenan Wittmore- m- 25 y- Knight- Siren- homosexual; Kaelan, Atlas- Date/ SO is open- may want to have or adopt kids one day but isn’t really sure about it- George x Nina: Hyram, Issa, Morgan- Tags: Atlas, Caelum, Adria, (queen)

The curly haired golden-brown haired male hummed quietly a moment, then shook his head a couple times, not even stopping himself this time. If they’d been back home, he’d be humming all the time, and not stopping himself from doing so. Here, in this strange place, it seemed to be he was doing it more out of nervousness than anything else. He glanced around a moment, then wondered about how the arrangement was even going to work for the both of the heirs. They each had to rule their own kingdoms…or would they maybe form into one big kingdom or something of the sort? He kind of doubted that…so at least Caelum was going to have to travel back and forth between the two kingdoms, it seemed likely.

He blinked and quickly bowed as well, as he saw the Solvale royal family. He’d stopped short as he saw the span of their wings…Of course, he should know they weren’t going to be tiny, with tiny wings. That wouldn’t make sense, who’d betrothe a tiny creature to a much larger one? Both the Maraquan citizens and the faeries were human sized. He shook his head a couple times. He glanced to the other knight for a moment. The other was bowing, so he’d put himself into a bow as well. He then listened as their queen spoke to the others. She spoke in such a warm tone, much like a mother would. She introduced herself and her son to the faeries. Keenan quickly straightened up, as he knew the two families were going to get into their positions now.

a snort almost left her at caelum's words. "you're going to be king caelum. of two kingdoms might i add. you get to make those kinds of decisions. i just hope you don't neglect your own citizens in favor of your new queen." the last words were muttered quietly enough that she was sure caelum wouldn't hear as well as her mother. if she had, adria would be getting an earful once this balcony presentation was over. she angled her head slightly to peer at the guards around them, though by their faces, she knew they were being respectful about not outwardly reacting to their conversations.

as they rounded the corner, adria got her first look at the royals of solvale, but her eyes immediately settled on the princess. caelum's fiance. she didn't know how to feel about the faerie. she looked harmless, but adria wasn't a stranger to deceiving looks. and as much as she ribs her brother and acts like he's the world's biggest inconvenience, she wouldn't have anything to do with him marrying a snob. she didn't say anything as her mother greeted the other royal family, only tipping her head in acknowledgement towards them when her mother addressed her.

"yes, your grace." cadence replied with a semblance of a curtsy. her cheeks flushed a bit. why did she have to be like this? she kept quiet through the banter between both nobles, her eyes darting around the garden as she tried to keep track of where she would need to go next once she escaped this terribly odd conversation.

at the abrupt change in conversation towards her home kingdom, she jerked a bit. "oh, maraqua?" she asked dumbly. "yeah it's uh, it's great!" she didn't really know what else to say. "um, I live mostly on the edge of the kingdom and swim to the palace everyday. i can't live in the servants quarters, my grandmother needs some help around her place." it was a total lie, a completely terrible one in her opinion, but these nobles didn't know her. and it wasn't a completely total lie. she did live on the edge of the kingdom, just not for the reasons she gave. "why? did y'all want to visit soon? sorry, i'm not much of a going out type so i don't have the best recommendations for fun things to do or where to eat, but i'm sure other servants would have some decent ideas if you would like me to ask them?" she hoped they agreed.

Re: The Royal Fae Ball (Accepting!)

Caelum Rieth | 27 years old | Male | Heir of Maraqua | He/ Him | Demisexual, Demiromantic | Merman| Tags: Adria, Atlas, Keenan, Wisperals
Caelum heard his sister's voice ring out again. "I am thinking of our people, you of all people should know that" he replies. He always thought of the people of Maraqua, and would sacrifice himself to protect them, that's just how much he valued his people. Of course he'd prefer staying in the comfort of Maraqua, his home, where he grew up, rather than a new location he was unfamiliar with and that was dry. At Adria's mention of the Solvale heir, so quiet he barely caught it, he glared at his sister out of the corner of his eyes before replacing his stoic mask once more. He knew his sister was trying to egg him on, but he did not take the bait.
As they arrived at the doors that would open soon, Caelum spotted the other royal family, already there waiting. He let his aze skim over them, identifying each face in his head. He paid no extra attention to the Solvale heir, his to be betrothed, already focusing on the door once more. Caelum did not speak as he stood next to his mother, listening as she greeted them all. No one knew what Caelum was feeling except for himself, the metaphoric mask blank without emotion. He counted in his head, waiting for the dreaded time for the doors to open and for the performance to start. This was all a performance, one he could pull off... hopefully.

Seraphina Drakonis| 32 years old | Female | Noble of Solvale | She/ Her| Bisexual, Biromantic | Dragon | Tags: Damion, Cadence
Seraphina listened as the servant, Cadence, explained about Maraqua. As a dragon, Seraphina didn't particularly wish to go anywhere near the edges of the sea. She was an electricity dragon, and water and electricity did not mix. Her mother, before she passed, often would fear for her, her fire dragon coming out. Fire dragons despised water, as water counteracted their powers. In the water their powers were weaker, but not completely useless. Seraphina focused back on the servant once more, nodding. "I don't particularly wish to visit" at all Seraphina thought. "I was just interested in Maraqua's differences, as I never have visited before" and never wish to. It was nothing against the water folk, but she'd prefer to stay away from water.

Kaelan Emberheart | 24 years old | Male | Servant of Solvale | He/ Him| Homosexual, Homoromantic | Phoenix | Tags: Marinn
Kaelan followed the other servant's gaze, seeing that it landed on a servant conversing with two nobles, a duke and duchess if he remembered correctly. He had seen them come to other events before but with so many nobles remembering their names and ranks was difficult, even for him, having been to many such events, though serving food and drinks of course. He smiled as he listened to Marinn discuss the differences between the two kingdoms. AS she mentioned equine, he was quite intrigued, "What type of equine, if I may ask?" he asks, curiosity getting the better of him. "Oh, me? I am a phoenix. I am currently hiding my wings, as they tend to draw attention, too much attention for my liking. My wings are made of fire, that's why" He explained to the other.

Elenara Windrider | 21 years old | Female | Noble (Knight) of Maraqua | She/ Her | Bisexual | Elf (water) | Tags: Katrina
Elenara caught movement from the corner of her eye, a lady was approaching her. She was unfamiliar with the female, likely a Solvale member; by her choice of attire, it seemed that she was of high status, which was confirmed as the other introduced herself as the Royal Advisor to the Royal family of Solvale. "It's nice to meet you, miss" she greets the other, introducing herself as well, "I am Elenara Windrider, Knight of Maraqua" though her status could be seen with her armor anyways so introducing herself as a knight wasn't the most necessary. She considered the rhetorical question Katrina asked her. "I do wish I could, but I would be in trouble if I moved from my post" she replies. The other seemed friendly, and having someone to converse with was much preferred to standing there alone for who knows how many hours. "It's slightly uncomfortable, being in such an unfamiliar place. I nearly got lost trying to find my assigned post" she leaned in and whispered to the other. Elenara wasn't quite used to being on land, never stepping foot out of the water till today.
