Do you have a recreated pet?

It looks like these two might be from the same group of re-created pets from 2022-10-12. I double checked and they are. Hundreds of pets were re-created and most of them are still in the pound

I wonder what happened on the site that so many pets had to be recreated from that time period and then assigned their new numbers in October 2022?

Pretty consistently it's been one user that has had pets recreated with each batch. They aren't really assigned a number (as in ID number) as they just get the next numbers available, which is why the pets do not sort properly

Wow, looks like the first one was from a batch of hundreds re-created on 2011-05-03
Second is 2015-10-19 and so is the third!

I have three! All 09 staff pets recreated in various years

Would you mind posting them? Understandable if not though!

This TD 2008 advent sits between a 2019 and a 2021 18th Dec rerelease. 🤷‍♀️

2021-10-06 is its re-creation date. Yeah, it's weird to have an old true dates pet sitting with some re-releases

I am unsure if this one belongs here. The adopt date is 3 days after this set was no longer available and sits in between the store lion set. I love my odd little guy

Some of the store pets get releases a bit longer because they got to the store late. I didn't see anything about these deer being late, but maybe they were in the store longer than intended? It's not a re-release pet because the re-release pets still have the date of the original pet.

I'll have to update the front pictures since they were originally hosted by discord.

The shortest answer would be the original pet was deleted, not by the original owner, but by someone else. A longer answer would be more complicated and different depending on the original owner. Unless one of the original owners wants to share what happened, then we may never know.

I found one! I actually ran into this while I was going through my pets and sorting them by year. I thought it was odd, and started looking through the forums to see if it had happened to anyone else. Found this thread, and it's super interesting! I wonder what happened to this guy. They sit between November and December of 2016.

I have this one. I'm fairly mad because I traded an actual TD for this one but it was on me (had I known, I would've said no but I did not look). In the end mine is "cooler" because it's more unique/interesting than a traditional version but still.

The shortest answer would be the original pet was deleted, not by the original owner, but by someone else. A longer answer would be more complicated and different depending on the original owner. Unless one of the original owners wants to share what happened, then we may never know.

To add: Pets may also be recreated if the originals weren't deleted but were involved in particularly messy scams/hacks. It happens really rarely because simple or recent cases are often taken care of with trade reversals, but there have been "nightmare scenarios" like accounts being hacked and pets being traded around en masse, that necessitated recreating a bunch because it'd have been impossible to reverse all the trades that involved the originals. (At some point they've been traded between so many users or so long ago that it'd cause more trouble than it's worth.)

I'm kinda collecting recreations whenever I see them in the Pound :D
I like pets with "wrong" dates (like re-releases) so any time I see a pet in there that sorts off-date, I try to get it!

This pony looks like it was re-created on 2016-11-07. Also there doesn't appear to be a trade for them as well. Usually the pets are re-created by an admin and the pets are then transferred over, but these just seem to be sent directly to their recipient. There's also a couple hundred deleted pets mixed in with them

Was it a TD swap? I find them interesting too, each set has it's own story. This one is from 2011-03-06

Very understandable considering how quickly some pets can be passed around. I'd love to collect more myself but I wouldn't be able to recognize them in the pound. That's a lot of pets to go through, but I'd like to find their dates!

They're easy to recognize in the Pound usually, because just like in your pet groups, they'll sort in the wrong order! I found all these because their adoption dates said 2015, but they were stuck between pets with much later dates.
