Well, the characters were created based on my friend group!
There's Hazel Miller (that's my character)
Then Yelena Loomis, Atari Tempus, Alexis Sanders and Valkyrie Cain. They're a group of paranormal investigators called the Phoenixes. Each of them has a special ability. It's a series and each book has it's own paranormal creature or problem. Within each book are clues to a bigger mystery and they all tie together in the end.
Valkyrie is the leader. She's the founder of the group and loves her job. Her special ability is unknown to the team and readers (But it has something to do with fire
)Hazel is the daredevil. She's the one who leads the charge into the dangerous stuff and is sometimes a bit overly confident. Her special ability is that her hands are very cold and they heat up whenever she's in danger. The hotter her hands, the more danger she's in.
Alexis is the tech person. She doesn't like the action and intensity of the cases so she often hides out with her computer and helps from there. Her special ability is understanding code and hacking.
Atari is the onsite detective. Her and Hazel are usually doing all the gory stuff, picking up finger prints, etc. Her special ability is the skill to build anything, she's a great mechanic.
Yelena is the team medic. She follows along and helps any way she can. Her special ability is attention to detail (extreme edition) She can sense when the tiniest thing is off and notice the smallest details.
The first book in the series is called The Mask of Fire, and that's where we find out about Valkyire's ability
