it has to be friday. as i get older, having time to check off a to-do list has become more enjoyable than ever. i don't know if its adhd or something, but i struggle to accomplish tasks knowing i have to be awake early the next day. the weekends are my time to clean, cook, and prep for the week ahead. resetting my house, hitting gym, and then having a deep shower with no time-crunch... it's truly the best.
^ is also sick??? my partner and i both fell ill recently. there is something going around for sure. feel better, and put your health first!
> recently took a job on that was not in my field, and they needed me. there is a pregnant woman that i was hired to stand in for, and they wanted me to stay afterwards. the schedule was atrocious, though. in my interview, i told the manager that i was starting accounting courses soon, to which she assured me that the hours are flexible, even went as far to say 4hr/5hr/6hr shifts are the most common. outside of beginning courses, this would have scared me away as i look for consistent full-time work. however, in this job search, i am taking on an accounting certificate while working. in my first week there, i received a schedule for the next month that was consistently and exclusively 8hr shifts... no "weekends". like three days on, one day off, then five days on. i've always worked full-time so it didn't scare me as much as i felt lied to. just sent my resignation over email (lol) while still being on a sick leave (i got covid/sars or whatever). i feel bad, especially since i know the woman that was training me leaves on maternity this week. alas, i recieved a better job offer for something that is in my field, and i'm taking it. cold hearted maybe, but you know... i get paid more to do what i'm good at. and i have to focus on these accounting courses.
v have you ever quit a job? how did that go? if you haven't, what are you doing now? are you planning to stay there until retirement? if you're too young to work, what are you studying? what jobs will you look for after school?
