Hoard Discussions Thread v.7!

New post. Not a very substantial one, but I might as well share what I was thinking.

I really love the Christmas Cats from last year. And I was thinking about colour assorting it…it’d be hard to do, but I think it’d be a fun challenge.

My plan is:

- Dark Greens and Reds at the bottom.
- Next, the Pine Green and Browns.
- Then, the Red and Green Splotched Stripes with Gold Ribbon and Silver Baubles.
- After that, the Pale Green with Red Ribbon and Gold Baubles.
- Then the Red Eyespot Cat with Christmas Lights…
- To finish off with the PPS Outcome at the top.

I think my plan is four of each. I did a small mockup to show what it’d (roughly) look like when finished: [snip]

I love it, you should totally do that! It will definitely take a few swaps, but it's just as much work as any checker hoard and it will be so satisfying to look at once it is complete. Feel free to check IDs in both my trades and cat group (05. Cats (2023))! :>


I finally completed my longest item hoard of the oldest gold coins! Five different items, but a total of 1.000 on this dog.
Will move the menorahs to another dog this year, it's getting crowded and I don't like the chaotic look.

Ah yeah, I wasn’t thinking of that at the time since I quickly made the mockup before leaving the house. Either way, I’m very excited to start on it.

I’m currently marking out which of the cats I think should be the "time-keeper" of it’s respective outcome—so people can click on that pet’s date and see the time, and have reference of what to swap. So far the darker coloured cats are already at 2/4, they’re of least concern to me.

I don’t think there’s much else I can do to optimise trading, but it should help.

You're done now?! It looks incredible and the tiny coins look really nice all together like that!
I've had a bat plushie hoard for years, I'll occasionally actively look for but it's mostly now just a case of leaving on wl and taking trades when I get them. I still love them a lot but I'm thinking once I hit 1500 I'll call it a day to focus on new item hoards.

omg this is genius…. thank you for the tip! i’ve avoided doing mixed pps+adult hoards because i enjoy the uniformity so this is a total game changer lol

Yeah, I thought 1000 is a nice even number to stop! I could have had more, actually stopped looking/trading for them at some point, until I started picking them up again in the lost & found. Actually got quite a view of them from there.

Yeah I bet after such a long time, it is easier to lose interest in a hoard. Nowadays I'm doing mini hoards for my items too, 20 as well, and try to combine them with pet hoards. ^^

It is such a life saver! I use those spaces all the time, because I want my groups to be symmetrical.
Especially for bigger pets that usually show 3 per row (horses, dragons) or the small pets:

Granted, they can still show up bad on some other computers, but for me it's 2, 4 or 5 per row and that's important =P

I have been having more trouble getting to my goal (53) with this guy than i thought i would!


just a 2020 very uncommon. i have one other hoard of a 2019 very uncommon and that pet felt much easier to simply find. i keep coming across people who have one but dont trade pets they dont have doubles of :,) its a fun challenge but i feel like im running out of people to trade with who i havent already gotten a copy or two from... o well ! just gotta dig a little deeper i guess

I think it also really depends on demand of that pet, whether it’s well remembered in recent memory, if it’s a species people hoard often…

I get what you mean though. Currently I’m having a MUCH easier time finding uncommon pets than I am…common pets…for my hoards. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, no matter what reasoning I try to give it.
