if anybody objects to these pairings, lmk! i'm happy to work with y'all. i did assign them based on the personalities and histories of the mentors and apprentices, so there is reasoning for my decisions ;] (aside from fernpaw; since she's med cat both of the senior medicine cats will be sharing her training)

shamelessly double-posting to talk about friendships for my characters:

@spiritstar - would you be okay with shadowheart being close with both wolfshadow and bearjaw? bearjaw is a jovial cat, and would have been very welcoming to shadow when he joined the clan; wolf is around bear often so would be present for a lot of the interactions bear and shadow have, and i think she'd admire his capability as a warrior in spite of his poor eyesight.

@queen - could smolderleaf have a sort of motherly bond with leopardshadow? they were quite young when they came to the clan, and he would have been very appreciative of an older cat looking out for him. if you're okay with it, i'd like both smolder and crow to be close with her, visit her often, and have a strong bond with her c:
also - would you be okay with smolder having been mushroomshard's mentor when he joined the clan? it would have been a short, few moon apprenticeship to teach him the ways of the clan since he was a former outsider, but smolder is a very fatherly tom and probably would have tried to help mushroom fit in. unless mushroom's only joined very recently, just lmk! either way, smolder could be a role-model that looks out for him. c:
i saw you'd listed it in your form; i'm not sure how well wolfshadow and brightwing would have gotten along, given their extremely different values and personalities. if you'd like them to be friends still, perhaps bright could have been wolf's very first apprentice? despite their differences and how frustrated i'm sure wolf would have been on occasion with bright, that would still have given them a special bond, since wolf is the type of cat to be very proud of her work and bright has become a fine warrior.

@junipurr - i think wolfshadow and honeybreeze would get along nicely. wolf is more of a reserved, sharp-tongued cat, and it seems honeybreeze is a bit bolder with it than she is. i think wolfshadow would enjoy being around her just to hear her run her mouth lolol
i also think bearjaw and lionheart would make good friends!
and lostpaw and daisypaw - she would have been VERY interested (and invasively curious) in lostpaw's history outside of the clan; especially since she knows she has roots in the outsider world, with her grandmother having left the clan with a loner before having crow and her father. i think she'd really have taken a liking to him and would be quick to defend him from any snide comments about his past.
one more thing as i go through forms: would you be okay with bearjaw having been rosethorn's mentor when she was finishing her apprenticeship in roseclan? he would have been very welcoming and would have been a good mentor choice to help her fit in.

@rogan - i think morning and crow could have a special bond. since they often work together closely, i feel like morning would be crow's closest confidante (other than smolder, of course, though he can share more with morning as the clan leader), and he'd find a lot of comfort in the older tom's presence. he'd probably have come to think of morning as a father figure.
also: smolder and crow (and warbler) all come from a colony of rogues in the twolegplace headed by their father, gust - if you'd like, that's where curlew and shrike could have originated from! like warbler, many cats would have abandoned the group when things got bad after gust went a lil crazy. totally fine if you'd rather they came from a different place, too!

I thought I needed to put up forms for deceased characters but I think the adoptive parents would actually still be alive.

Also yes, I’m fine with that. XD I’m glad she’d admire him despite the eyesight thing.

i apologize for posting and then going mia- i had a heap of meetings and work related things this week so ive been gogogo. i wont be around much this weekend either unless im in, post, then dip (which i might try to do for morningstar) until im free again.

hopefully ill get my characters fully completed soon; i am so sorry for the wait 😭




Either one of them could maybe have had a kitten hood crush or a romance with Shadowheart when they were younger? If you’d be okay with that, idk. I didn’t really specify when he came to the clan, I don’t think. He was a kittypet, so he and Shrike definitely could have known each other maybe.


i'd be alright with that!! i imagine there could have been something there from morningstar early on, but when he started his work as deputy / leader he would have definitely kind of drifted away because of his . pledge to his duties, if that makes sense? but it can definitely be messed with further down the line too, to get things reignited :3

as far as shrike goes‐ he's a part of / was a part of a feral cat colony, so he may be a little bit more weary in terms of befriending kitty pets, and the same goes for the clan- especially because his sister ditched him... for the clan (rip shrike and lewis kitthood bffs5e they will be missed)

id be up for morning and crow having a bit of a bond going, especially as leader - med cat!! id love to play on the father - son dynamic with them a little bit too, i think itd be fun to do!

as for the colony of rogues, i'd be up for that! im assuming it could have been similar to a feral cat colony (given its much closer to the twolegs place)? i think itd be fun to kind of give curlew a bit of a history with some other clanmembers, too; so she isnt just. Swoop! joining on in, but comes with some others instead so she isnt entirely suspicious of just. Throwing herself in.

id imagine if shrike originated there as well, hed be a bit more attached to the area they inhabited (or at least somewhere around that), and kind of.. is adamant about not joining the clan yet: so he and warbler could have some sort of connection, even if its only cordial currently?

so, i do have a rule listed on the front about no clan character npcs. if they're outside of the clan, that's fine, but i'm not allowing any npc cats in roseclan for consistency's sake. as for shadow, bear, and wolf - i'm glad you like the idea! shadow would be one of the cats in the clan that wolf actually likes lol. i'll get a response up for your characters soon! oh, i also noticed one of them wished a good morning - just a reminder it is almost moon-high in the middle of the night, wasn't sure if you missed that or not c:

yeah, definitely very feral cat colony-esque! sort of like scourge's original pack, they live in the twolegplace, headed by gust (crow, smolder, and warbler's father). it's a very rough and tumble, unforgiving group to be part of. warbler only left the group very recently, i feel like she and shrike would definitely know each other! perhaps their first roleplayed encounter can be recognizing one another. i reference the rogue group a lot in her history if you want more info on it! she's also wary of roseclan; gust has painted it in a very bad light to all of the cats in his group, especially now that his former-roseclan mate is dead and can't correct him. that's why warbler is wary of the clan herself.
