Two girls, one a human and one an elf. Their two communities don’t get along well…their two species don’t. The councils of each species want peace. They tell the rulers they need to have a meeting with the other kingdom. They also suggest a betrothal. To further ensure peace would remain.

Kal is 5'6" and fairly lean and lithe in build, though she is quite strong and well muscled. She has shoulder length curly dark brown hair that she usually keeps tied back and deep set hazel eyes. She has warm pale brown skin with freckles all along her arms and face. Loathing fancy clothes, she tries to wear baggy and comfortable clothes instead, if she can get away with it. A small faded scar runs from her right ear to her jawline.
Personality
Kal is a troublemaker and very mischievous at times. She's always stealing things from town folk, palace staff, or travelling merchants. She does it for the thrill, and she can't get in trouble because she's the crown princess.
She can be a bit annoying with her childish attitude, and most whisper that she isn't fit to be future Queen. She never hears these words though- or she pretends she doesn't.
She hides insecurities under her playful and oblivious mask, though. Only her sibling knows the doubts she faces, and they are the only one she really trusts.
Kal also loves the outdoors, and if she can find something to climb, she will. Cross a rushing river? Jump across a ravine? All these things she won't hesitate to do. She often does impulsive things, with little regard for her safety. If danger ever threatens her loved ones though, she will do anything she can to protect them.

5'8" in height, Kai is much like their sister in build, being lean and wiry, with slightly more rounder features. Shoulder length dark blonde curls (that they never bother to brush unless they have to) adorn their head, and their dark brown eyes are narrow and deep set. They have pale skin from spending most of their time indoors, and a hint of freckles can be seen across their nose and arms. They wear light and loose clothing, casual but still fancy enough to signify their royal status.
Personality
Kai is a quiet and reserved individual, constantly observing, constantly thinking things through. Most who meet them fall under the impression that they are a respectable and polite person, and they are quite liked among the general populace. Most want them as future ruler, despite that title belonging to their older sister.
Kai is quite apathetic to others' feelings, and behind the good little royal act lies a person who believes themself to be superior to anyone else. They do want the throne, and though they love their sister, they agree with the people that she isn't meant to lead. They have a way with words, and if they can make it Kal's idea to hand over the throne, then even better.
Kai loves to read and while their sister is out getting into trouble, they're holed up in their room or
the library studying. They're very clever, and they use this to their advantage to get what they want.

I put Kal and Kai as tags for both of them just since they’re all going to this meeting and all.
Oh…actually…should they be meeting at the human kingdom, or somewhere neutral?]

The happy and bright woman was not so happy or bright right now…considering she and her parents and brother were going to meet humans. The two races had a mutual dislike for one another, one that had started so many years ago. The humans seemed to look down on the elves, and the elves themselves, well…they thought humans were brutish and foolish. One couldn’t call the female humans brutish, mostly, but they could call them all foolish, which was what Sunnie was currently feeling. They rode in their carriage, big enough for the two parents and their adult offspring, and headed for the spot. One specific place had been picked out, where both the humans and the elves were meeting and were to have a peace talk. She knew though…she’d been told by her parents that the council had also made them betroth her to a human…The blonde haired, tanned one made an annoyed sound, looking out the window as they rolled towards the place they were supposed to be.

(I wrote a lot, but…probably won’t be able to write as much anymore after this; we’ll see)

The sincere but sometimes too quiet male sighed as he looked to his sister…then shook his head and looked out the window. He had just as blonde hair as her and just as tanned skin, and looked a lot like her except she had longer hair of course. He stared out the window as the carriage headed for wherever it was they were supposed to have this peace talk and meet up. He looked at his sister as she made a noise…then he looked back out the window, as they finally reached the place they were to be at.

(I'm going to imagine somewhere neutral! Perhaps there is something between both territories they'll meet? I have no ideas though xD)

Kal leaned back, sprawled out on the cushioned seat of the carriage, with her head on her sibling's lap. They didn't seem to mind, but as Kal stared up at the roof of the carriage, her father made an annoyed sound. She glanced over at him and gave him a sweet smile, knowing he wanted her to sit up and act like a lady, but she made no move to do so. Kai turned a page in their book they were reading- something about ancient wars, Kal didn't know nor care- and she returned her gaze to the ceiling, head swirling with thoughts.
Kal didn't like travelling by carriage. It was uncomfortable and always meant they were going somewhere she would have to act proper and polite and wasn't allowed to do what she wanted to do. What she wanted to do was everything her father thought she shouldn'tdo. And all Kal knew about this particular trip was they were going to meet with the elves. Her sibling kept up more with the relations between their species than she did, but she did know that the elves and the humans were on rocky terms. "A peace meeting has been arranged," was all her father had told her. Why she had to come along was a mystery to her- Kai was much more diplomatic than she, and her father usually left her out of such meetings anyway. But surely it wouldn't take too long, and then Kal would be back home and free to do her own things once more.



Kai turned a page in their book, Wars Through the Ages, and glanced down at their sister as she let out a sigh. Kai knew that was her sigh of boredom, and an empty smile flitted across their face before they returned their attention to their book. Kal didn't know what was planned to take place during the meeting- their father had specifically told Kai not to tell- and Kai felt pity for her once the news was revealed. Kal wouldn't like it- one of the reasons why she hadn't been told in advance- but as much as Kal wouldn't like it, they hated the idea more.
Betrothed to an elf princess, as a way to bring peace? Kai knew it was ridiculous, and also knew it was a flimsy way to ensure peace.
But she had no choice. And as much as Kai wished they were the heir to the throne, they couldn't imagine being the one to be betrothed. They liked to make their own decisions, and that certainly wouldn't be one of them.
As the carriage slowed, Kai shut their book and gently shoved their sister off. She gave a grunt but they took no notice. They were the first out of the carriage, and noticed they were the last to arrive. A slight scowl fixed on their face but they quickly erased it and moved aside to let their father out.

[honestly, I thought up the idea of a village that has to be between the kingdoms because everyone in it is half elf half human or half human half elf (going off the father’s species, if someone has an elf father and human mother they’d be elf human, if the other way around they’d be human elf but anyway). Like…maybe there have been elves and humans that actually ended up together. But the two kingdoms ostracized them to a village somewhere in the boundary, between the borders, of the two kingdoms if that makes sense.]

The blonde elf sighed as she brushed at her hair…then twirled a piece of it about her finger like most any girl or woman would. She knew not every girl and woman was lady like, and she was fine with that because they didn’t need to all be like that. If they married another woman, and the other woman was girly, then the non girly one didn’t need to be girly. I’m fact, some people liked tomboys, and strong women, and things like that, herself included considering she was pretty girly herself. Not that she thought there anything bad about two girly girls if they ended up together either, there was nothing wrong with that. Shaking her head, she glanced at her parents and watched her mother smile at her, sighing and shaking her head at her mother…She glanced to her brother, and while she’d only sighed at her mother she actually smiled at her brother. He was her beloved younger brother and she could never deny him anything, considering she’d always loved him from the moment he was born.

The young man smiled at his sister, and his eyes brightened as he saw her smile back at him, despite how she’d sighed at their mother. He was glad his parents had actually told Sunnie…after all, they’d told Sandy, so they should have told Sunnie too, which they had done. He wondered about these humans…had they told their own daughter or son, or had they kept it secret? Oh, well, that was the thing…their parents hadn’t actually told them if it was a prince or princess, so that irked him a bit. He shook his head, then glanced out the window as the carriage continued to approach the building they were to go into. The carriage finally came to a halt, and the family got out of the carriage and headed up to the building. It wasn’t a castle, of course, but it wasn’t a bad looking structure either, so he had nothing bad to say about it, not that he would anyway. He watched his family head inside, but he stopped at the door as another carriage pulled up and he watched humans step out.

(Lol, it’s fine. The main problem is muse, but also this iPad I’m on now has been being weird with longer posts…)

Kal begrudgingly sat up as the carriage came to a halt. She would have liked to stay inside, as the day was warm and it was cooler inside the carriage. She watched as Kai exited, a little surprised at their apparent eagerness to be the first out. Her father got up to follow them, but before he stepped down he turned to her, a frown tugging on his features.
"Kallandra," he began, and Kal sighed inwardly. She could almost predict what he was going to say.
The king continued. "Please do try to be presentable at this meeting. Its important to make a good impression." He paused. "And take a moment to fix your hair, its a mess."
With that, he left the carriage. Kal rolled her eyes at his departing back, but did run a hand through her curls in an attempt to smooth them down. Then, with one more sigh, she fixed a smile on her face and stepped out of the carriage to join her family.


Kai had gotten out just in time to see the elf royal family disappear inside. Their gaze drew along the modest structure, almost disdainfully as they studied it.
Well, they could have picked a worse place, I suppose, they thought. Their eyes moved back to the entrance of the building, where they landed on the figure of one of the elves watching as the humans arrived. Kai frowned ever so slightly, but their attention was drawn away as their father joined them beside the carriage, soon followed by Kal. They snorted a laugh at her fake smile, earning a side glance from their father.
"Come on, then," they said in their slightly accented voice. They tilted their head in the direction of the building. "Lets not keep them waiting."
Their father cleared his throat, nodded to his children, then began walking up the path, the two young royals in tow.

The blonde elf hummed quietly as she followed after her parents. She glanced around the building as they walked through it. It wasn’t exactly a castle, but it wasn’t a bad looking building either. Except it was filled with pictures of half breeds…Half human half elf, half elf half human. She narrowed her eyes as she stared at one picture in particular…a girl with long blonde hair and tanned skin. Shaking her head, she continued to walk. She rolled her eyes when her mother smiled at her again…She looked at her father instead. Well, the back of his short haired, blonde haired head, both her parents were blonde. It made sense, since she and Sandy were blonde. Shaking the thought away, she followed her parents to one of the rooms of the building.

The young man hummed quietly as he paused in the doorway. He just…stood there and stared at the human family as they stepped out. He couldn’t seem to help himself. He’d never actually seen a human, aside from art and pictures. Since he’d been young, he’d been taught to not like them…Yet he couldn’t help thinking the man was handsome, the girl was pretty, and the other one…The other one caught his interest. He saw them looking so he quickly looked away, backing away. He headed after his family, able to catch up to them. His eyes noticed all the pictures of cross species individuals. He smiled a bit then shook his head, hurrying on. He followed his family into one of the six or eight rooms, and waited for the human royal family.
