•) How much time, on average, are artists given from prompt delivery to deadline when all art files must be formatted and submitted? One week? Two weeks? I figure there's gotta be time for code magic to be done and for actual review of submitted designs.
•) How much *quantity* of work are artists, on average, given? (Interested in knowing both for Guest and Official artist roles) To restate; like, how many pets per month are the average expectation of quantity to create designs?
•) I'm screaming at myself because most my art in the last few years has been purely self-indulgent fanart for my favorite fandoms, so most my nicest, strongest artwork isn't suitable to submit officially as a portfolio. Is it okay to link my portfolios in my app? I tried to select drawings of mine that were relevant more to showing off my drawing and painting skills, but my subject matter isn't always pet / animal specific >.<'
Also, suggestion; would it be useful to start an FAQ somewhere for all these questions and their responses? (if there already is one I have failed to find it ope) I've seen the same ones come up a few times in the thread. I've tried to read every post but I always worry I've missed something
There are not so much "prompts" as regularly expected deadlines. The sites hosts the same events every year so the artist can take as much time as they desire to prepare. The only exception would be a summer event, which has several months of preparation. Artists are given the freedom to come up with their own ideas for monthly pets.
Artists usually work by litter or item set. Pet artists are usually expected to produce at least one litter per month, plus something for events. Guest artists may only produce a couple litters per year.
You can still only submit a max of 6 images. You could take the images you like best from your portfolio and upload them to the application!
