(( Don't worry, Hobbit and whoever else doesn't know much about horses, I am the horse master! Mwahaha!
Honestly, I do horsebackriding and I know, like, alot about horses. Here's Dawnslistofbeginnerfacts!
Colors:
Please note, these are not all of the colors. There are far more!
White: A, well, white horse. Albino's are the only horses that can actually be white. The rest are light gray.
Light gray: Basically white.
Bay: A brown horse with a black mane, tail, and legs.
Buckskin: A yellowish horse with a black mane, tail, and legs.
Dappled gray: A gray horse with dapples. I'm not sure, but I've heard that pure arabians cannot be dappled gray. As I said, I'm not sure.
Chestnut: Coppery-brown horse
Liver chestnut: Basically brown all over
Black: What do you think? A black horse.
Skewbald: A white horse with brown patches
Piebald: A white horse with black patches
Palomino: A gold-ish horse with a white mane and tail.
The next few are hard for me to explain, so look for pictures of them online.
Red roan
Blue roan
Strawberry roan
Grullo
As for breeds, just look on wikipedia. Horses in this roleplay will need to be fast, and have stamina, and lots of energy. A thoroughbred, Arabian, or Quarter horse would be good choices, although Quarter horses cannot run at full speed as long as Thoroughbreds can, but if your character is a beginner on a horse, a Thoroughbred is not a good idea, unless you get an old, calm one. Thoroughbreds are usually very high-strung and exitable.
I plan on Vethro getting a naughty naught Thoroughbred, that's partially trained. 0.0
Also, some breeds can only have certain colors, so check on those too.
