A question about the artist position, is the position limited to Adobe Photoshop users?
I primarily use the program Procreate (which am aware that procreate CAN open psd files, but I wouldn't be able to edit any text layers) or Ibis Paint X, and unfortunately I cannot use or afford photoshop and don't want anything to do with Adobe due to quite recent news about the corporation.
(my last portion is irrelevant now, with a little reddit search I found out I could use photopea)

It doesn't have to be Photoshop, just something that can open and edit PSD files. A lot of artists on the team do not use Photoshop as their primary program c:

No, unfortunately we get lots of applications (especially this time around with all our positions open!) so we can't contact every single person to let them know they've been declined. We only contact those who were selected.

Its ultimately up to you on what you'd like to show us! We just want to see what you can do with what's given, you only have 3 pets to colour in so doing different designs would give us more examples. Don't forget you do have extra spots to share other examples of your art with us as well. ^^

I couldn't find this noted anywhere so hope it's ok if I ask; do we know how long the applications will be open for?
I would love to try and apply as item artist but I'm going away for a week, I just hope I won't miss my chance due to unfortunate timing.

Typically applications are open for a few weeks (on average approximately a month). There will be a warning post made on this topic by an admin when applications are going to close.

So, the artist applications says this: “ Only submit your artwork to us if you accept that you cannot claim ownership of related designs/ideas that different artists produce for CS in future”
I assume this means the designs you submit if you are chosen for the artist position, and not other art examples you may provide in the application process? I am aware I wouldn’t own designs I made for the site as they would become chicken smoothie’s property, but it doesn’t effect the preexisting artwork I am planning to submit to give a better understanding of my work, right?

hello! just had a question for artist applications - for "Examples of other artwork (max 6 images)" is it fine if one image contains more than one design? Or is it preferred to only upload one design per image (for a max of 6 extra design examples)?
good luck to everyone applying !! <3
