I dont think I have ever posted here but figured i would post my girls and say hello haha.

My history is a bit backwards from most with owning a horse before learning to ride but I was lucky enough that my ex had horses so I learned by fire haha. I also worked at a training facility so ive done everything from starting colts to retraining ex buckers. I learned a ton and was able to bring my baby along nicely if i do say so myself lol.

Avalon my Tennessee walker was my first horse who I claimed before she was born, Ive done everything myself and im so proud of how shes coming along. She was lightly started last year then given time off after we had a accident that broke my wrist. This fall we are getting back to it to continue her education. I like taking young horses slow and she is only 4 so we will do more this year but still not a ton for another year or two.

Scylla is my Missouri Fox Trotter mare, I got her last year green broke and hard to mount and a bit of a bully. We have done a few rides but not as many as I would have liked due to my injury. She is doing amazing though and is now easy to mount and has even had beginner riders on her. This fall we will be training for the versatility arena for our breed shows next year.

Jezebel is my 20 year old recent addition. She is a QH/Welsh cross and just the cutest pony around. I got her to help me get through my own anxiety about coming back to riding after the injury. She is amazing and has helped me a ton. We may play around in play days but she may also just be a bonus horse to toss friends on who dont know how to ride haha.

Spree is Scylla's 7 week old filly. She's the baby I dreamed of out of that pairing. Her conformation is absolutely gorgeous, I adore her personality, and a cherry on top she is my dream color of a Bay sabino. She was too dreamy to sell so the goal will be for her to also be a versatility arena horse at breed shows as well. Next spring I hopefully will be modeling her at the shows as well.

Photo is Avalon, Spree on top then Scylla and Jezebel with the age related greying haha.

I haven’t actually ridden since high school…I do love horses so much though, and wish I could go riding again.
My cousin has two Thoroughbreds. She and her husband said I could visit whenever but I just never got to (I live at home and me and my dad never really talked about it.)

Well, I broke a nearly 3-year fall-free streak last night. And off a *pony*! Since coming to the UK I've ridden horses from a 13'2 New Forest with a short back and a mean buck, to big angry warmbloods to Bob the Cob and everything in between, and who got me off? Through no real ill will or fault of her own? SKY! My favouritest Little who can do 0 wrong in my eyes, 14h if that and all extra points from legge went to Brain. I was not my best self, it was Big Girl Lesson and logistics were complicated, we were late, mare's elastic girth was just EXTRA stretchy and two tightens didn't do the trick, and she was fighting me to leg yield off the wall in all her wiggly Welsh glory (I swear she can go 3 directions at once). I could blame the rain coming in and the spring vibe, but in truth she just zigged and I zagged and I couldn't keep my seat. I'm getting old ;.; Luckily the arena is really soft, Sky's Bitty, and I rolled. Still, bit stiff in the neck and pelvis this morning, but I've felt it FAR worse.

The moral of this story is: If you (like me) have ever been frustrated being stuck on ponies, and wished you could ride the Big Ones, it's the Talls who are missing out! Ponies are epic (and nearer the ground) and I'm very glad I get to ride them regularly.
