There is also this part:

Our past summer event mini-games have had certain prizes tied to certain outcomes before. Yes, all I meant was that getting a 5/5 could be tied to getting a pet (I am unable to confirm if that is the case), but even if it is, actually getting a 5/5 is just chance/random. Given past events and the wording in the mini-game (and the fact that I haven't seen anyone report otherwise) I expect that it is tied to getting a 5/5 though.

Has anyone found any rhyme or reason to the new bottle mini game? Obviously some of the bottles refuse to be knocked down, while others will knock down with ease.

Has anyone tried knocking down an un-knockable for all the 5 tries?

What happens if you knock down 0 or 1/2/3/4/5?

For everyone else's reference. I've knocked down 4 bottles, and won a Root beer Float. I knocked down 2 and won a Float as well.

So far, they’ve remained elusive for me. I’ve tried a few different strategies but it doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to which can be knocked over and which can’t (I’ve had bottles/cans I can knock over one round, then the next round those same bottle/cans can’t be knocked over), some of the mods have clarified it’s random chance. So far I haven’t seen any definitive proof that it happens on a specific amount, my working theory is that it may happen on 5 based off the text before entering the game “get a real bullseye and get a special prize” although I’m wondering if 5 either equals a 50:50 shot or if it’s guaranteed…

I think it’s really just random whether they’ll be knocked over or not. I have hit varying numbers of bottles down and got the same root beer float three times. and I only knocked over four bottles when I got one of the pets, so…..I’m not certain that there’s really a rhyme or reason to it.

someone appears to have gotten a pet without a 5/5 - it might just be a banner token/banner pet situation and perhaps the bottles knocked down don't matter at all...?

Crested Roadrunner or Greater Roadrunner... both are very similar in looks. I was able to get both as this guy popped up.

Im getting lots of offers for my black cat with black hat, is this a less common outcome?

Not less common... I got 3 in the adopts.

The game itself says this:
"If you get a real bullseye, you might be in for a special prize."
Implying that you do need to get a 5/5 hit rate to get a pet.

But it IS random when you get that perfect bullseye. It's always random if you get a pet or an item but it is NOT random that you get a 5/5 "bullseye" when you get a pet.
I haven't seen anybody confirm they got a pet with less than 5/5 and the game even say you need the perfect shot. So that's how I understand it.

I would imagine considering it's a kids game, and that there's a good portion of mobile users, that 0 wouldn't be an outcome that would be programed into the game just out of simple fairness mainly to kids (in my mind, 1 would be the fairest option since they still got something down in the end and doesn't make anyone walking away feel like a complete failure); but I haven't seen any confirmed discussion of anyone getting less than 1.

So fair I've personally gotten 1-4, which is why I was wondering (I won't hide that I'd be super excited to find out 0 isn't a possible outcome so the only number I'm missing is that 5/5 shot...)

It would be kinda funny if you got a pet from a 0/5 shot. Just as a pity prize xD
Or maybe even something else, like a "you tried" item or something like that :P
I just got a 1/5 shot last time but that's also the lowest I've gotten.

No idea if it's possible to hit 0/5.

It's the first day they've been released, and the pets from the 1 hour area always have heightened demand during the event. Last year's pets ended up 'Very Uncommon', but there's no way to tell what their rarity will be until rarities are released after the event :)
