The year is 175 AG, one year after Kuvira terrorized Republic City. Although it's been a year the city still holds the scars from the conflicts of the past. Many were displaced from their homes due to the destruction or spirit vines, the triads have become rowdier than ever as they seek out new turf, and many citizens are struggling to find jobs. Nonetheless A new spirit portal proudly shines like a beacon of hope in the city center as life in the city carries on in the aftermath. It will take more than a mecha giant to keep the citizens of Republic City down!

Republic City is a multicultural hub of innovation with a gleaming forest of skyscrapers shot through with massive spirit vines, illuminated by twinkling electric lights and a blazing pillar of spirit energy. It is home to thousands and thousands of
people and you find yourself proud to consider yourself among them!

•Follow all CS RP rules.
•There is no set plot as this is intended as a casual rp with a player driven/character relationship focus. I may create smaller scale events in the future if there is an interest in that.
•No post length requirement but try to give enough for others to react to. No ‘txt tlk’ though as that can be confusing and hard to read.
•No activity requirement, feel free to take as long as you need to reply. If you’re going to be absent for a long period of time or go on hiatus just please communicate in the discussion thread just so people are aware.
•Create as many characters as you think you can handle.
•Both OCs and canon characters are allowed.
•OCs can be related to canon characters but if someone is already playing a canon character you want your OC to be related to please communicate with them in the discussion thread first about your idea.
•Please keep OC abilities in line with the canon of the show. EX: Your OC is not the Avatar, they cannot bend more than one element, lightbending/shadowbending isn’t a thing, etc.
•Character forms can be found in the discussion thread. All character forms, as well as OOC chatter, should remain in the discussion thread.

Republic City is split into 10 districts, each with unique locations to visit. The descriptions of these districts come from the official Republic City Setting Guide created by the Avatar team. If you would like more detail on any of the locations mentioned to be within the districts feel free to ask and I can try to tell you more. If you are interested in adding a location belonging to your character there will be a form for that in the discussion thread. Locations made by players will be listed under 'player locations'.

So this was the great Republic City she'd heard so much about? Well, it certainly lived up to the hype - that much was for certain. Chayi had done her fair bit of travelling for her young age, something to do with her more nomadic lifestyle, but she hadn't managed to visit Republic City until now. Until she kinda needed to. She was kind of regretting not going out of her way to come here now. Now she was gonna end up bogged down by family stuff.

Family...

As she stepped off of the ship that brought her here grey eyes glanced toward Air Temple Island. She probably should go there right away and sort everything out. But... she'd gone this long without meeting dad and his side of the family. What was a few more hours right? There was so much city to see and she wanted to see it all! Chayi definitely wasn't avoiding any difficult feelings or anything. Nope. Not her.

And so Chayi set off beginning to make her way into the city. Much as she tried to stride forward with confidence... she definitely looked the part of a lost tourist. Maybe someone around here would be willing to help her? Point her in the direction of something cool? But who to ask?

"Hey, careful with that!"
The dockworker gave Izuko a sheepish look, sliding the crate he'd just unceremoniously shoved into the truck bed further back. "That stuff's delicate, and very expensive! You break it, you buy it!" She'd been out here all morning supervising the delivery, a bunch of precision instruments for various departments at Future Industries, and getting it had been a major pain in her butt for the better part of the week. Shipping delays, arguing with the supplier over what exactly it was they needed, and now this. Headache-inducing, but her rent wasn't going to pay itself. With the last of the shipment loaded, she figured it was about time for her break.

The port wasn't the best place to loiter around, granted, but there was plenty of opportunity to people watch at least. Plenty of comings and goings, and people from all over the world. Including, she saw, from her old... well, not home, but place of residence. A young woman, no more than twenty by Izuko's reckoning, wearing Air Nation colors and looking incredibly lost. A faint smile stretched the corners of Izuko's mouth. "If you're looking for the ferry, it's down on that pier over there," she called out, indicating the small boat that was the island's main means of access. "Are they expecting you over there? Figured they'd send someone to get you."

When a stranger called out to her her Chayi briefly blinked her owlish grey eyes in surprise. These Republic City folk sure were friendly and forward! Not that she minded, though in this case she wasn't exactly looking for directions to Air Temple Island. Not yet anyway. Chayi approached her casually, glancing around at all the comings and goings, one pant leg dragging lower than the other. She smiled crookedly and ran a hand through her mane of messy brown hair before she replied.

"Ah, well, they're nooooot exactly expecting me." She admitted with a sheepish laugh. Chayi hadn't exactly phoned ahead to tell anyone she was coming. "I'll get over there eventually, of course, but - well - I was hoping to take a scenic look around Republic City before I did, y'know?" She wasn't ready to be tied down with training or family nonsense.
