i think that since covid started, the internet has become a place that's no longer safe on every platform, because of the normie invasion on the internet. it included a wave of all kinds of people who didn't grow up on the internet, therefore all those people don't have internet etiquette. they spread their bad behavior, and that became the new normal.

i think chickensmoothie as a website is a brilliant example of how to moderate platforms that are healthy and accessible to not just children but adults and most other platforms can take several notes. i don't believe the internet is considerate enough of children. adult-only spaces are another conversation to have, as someone who DOES moderate adult-only spaces and works very diligently to make sure children are not involved whatsoever, but as for spaces that do include children, i think sites like chickensmoothie set a great example and other sites should learn a thing or two.

I think the newer Pokémon games have just gotten boring and I’m thinking of giving up on playing any other ones that come out. I used to beat the games the whole way through and get so attached to my Pokémon but now I just can’t. I can’t tell exactly what it is, though, just that it’s not as much fun anymore

no for sure dude. I feel exactly the same. the last main pokemon game I bought was shield and I couldnt finish it, and I hated legends arceus and shining pearl. didnt even bother buying scarlet or violet. I dont mind the 3d, I dont mind the open world aspects. I just think theyre sacrificing core features (my favorite being scrapped: having the whole dex on every new game) to get games out on a 2-3 year schedule. I am not supporting or tolerating that behavior anymore. it wont make a difference if i dont buy the biggest franchise in the world's games or not, but it just isnt worth it for me anymore

family is not the most important thing in the world for everyone and there shouldnt be this immense pressure by everyone to prioritize family over everything. I value my friends and my wife higher than my family and there is nothing wrong with that

huge agree. while i value my family strongly, as they have helped and supported me through the worst of my life, i know i am not everyone. i am very lucky to have the amazing family i do and i dont have the right to judge others and their decisions. family is not everything to a big group of people and they shouldnt be shamed for it.

AGREE I only wear jeans if I’m doing something I don’t want to (work lol) cuz at least all my comfy pants are available to wear when I’m not working and I can relax better

99% agree, 1% when i'm sick or fevered i layer them girls on like i was trying to cut off the circulation bc my body is rejecting any sense of comfort or heat.


is it just me or are movies nowadays just not fun to watch??? like they all feel so unpolished or unfinished or rushed and i lose any and all interest

agree, but i’ve never liked movies. i haven’t noticed a decline in quality but i also don’t feel interested in many of the movies that have been released recently.


in general, it is a wiser decision to earn a degree that will make you money and do your passions as a hobby than to major in your hobby. i’d rather make more money than pursue a low paying or unstable career i would like more. that way, i don’t get burnt out from doing something creative as a job and i can spend my salary on things i love!

kinda disagree? after seeing my dad have a career that makes him more money than happiness, i can see that he gets burnt out and stressed faster working at a job he doesn't enjoy. he's told me many times before to do something with my life that i love rather than do what he did, and it's really stuck with me. on the other hand, im thankful to have the stuff i have BECAUSE of my dads job. its really tricky!


audio books aren't popular enough, especially since they're so helpful!! they solve so many problems i have with reading. audio books make it where i don't have to sit down and focus really hard, i can do something else while the book is playing, and i can speed the audio up so i finish the story faster!
