August (f) & Oliver (m)
He fidgeted with the silver box in his pocket, waiting anxiously for the right time to turn around the corner to her home. The small blinking screen that displayed the time in his car finally flicked to 5:30 PM, and he put the car in motion, pulling around the block and into her driveway. She stood out front of the house, pearly smile lighting up her face as he stepped out of the car and held open the passenger door for her. His heart swelled at the sight of her. She had never looked lovelier, in a velvety red holiday dress tied with a sprig of holly, and bronze hair in a delicate braid.
“M’lady, I cannot put in words how beautiful you are,” he held the door with one hand and reached out to her with the other. Her smile widened and she took his hand, blushing as he leaned down to kiss her hand. As he pulled away, she stood on her toes to wrap her pale arms around his neck.
“Ollie, you are the sweetest guy I’ve ever met,” she whispered in his ear, then stepped back again to share another brief smile with him. His hand drew immediately to his pocket, thick fingers wrapping around the silver box, but she slid into the passenger’s seat before he could pull it out.
Oliver sighed. Not yet, wait until after dinner. He told himself firmly, walking around to the driver’s side and starting the car. “August, are you sure you’re up to dinner with the company? I mean, it’s Christmas Eve, and I wouldn’t mind dinner with your family…”
“No.” August replied tersely, then looked down guiltily. “I’d rather attend the company dinner. You shouldn’t have to deal with my family.”
Oliver put his hand on her leg, glancing over to give her a thin smile. “You shouldn’t have to deal with them either. I know you keep saying you won’t, but I truly think you’d be happier if you moved in with me-“
“Oliver, I don’t want to be a burden to you, honestly. Don’t worry about me,” Her sparkling green eyes turned shyly up at his face. His gold-rimmed olive eyes flicked back to the road as she looked up at him. August brushed the dark brown hair that peeked out from his knitted winter hat out of his face and pouted at him. “Please don’t be mad at me.”
He sighed, grabbing her raised hand and holding it to his cheek while holding the wheel with his other hand. “I could never be mad at you.” Oliver’s mind went back to that box in his jacket pocket. He wanted so badly to be with her forever, but it was still the wrong time to ask. He forced his mind back to the road, and neither of them talked until he parked his car along the road in front of their manager’s house and joined the rest of their coworkers from the agency for the annual holiday party.
I might continue, if anyone likes it. xD It'll get better, I've got stuff to do though so I had to stop short. ^-^

I've been struggling with my writing for the last year, and now I've finally overcame the writer's block I had, but I was nervous it would be more than a bit rusty. .A. I'm so glad you like it<33
I'm nearly done with the next part now. :')
