is it stupid for me to text a guy who broke up with me yesterday?

We’d only been dating for about a month, but i was starting to really like him. he seemed like he was serious about me, maybe even more than i was about him.

The day before he broke up with me i told him i wished he would text me more and he agreed and said that he would fix it for me. and then the next day he calls me and tells me basically that he’s too busy for me and he thinks i want more out of the relationship he does.

im confused because just the day before we were great, and when I told him I wanted to hear from him more, he completely agreed without any reservations. I don’t understand how he switched from that to breaking up with me. I desperately want to text him and ask if there’s some other reason or if we could reconnect when he’s not so busy. I know it’s a bad idea but I don’t know how to deal with the fact that I’ll probably never see him again.

i’ve only had one other relationship before and i have no experience with how to cope with being dumped. i’ve been trying not to cry all day.

i hear you. it was just a month so who knows what was going through his mind. he might just be startled by the commitment. and if he wanted to talk with you more, he would. it sounds like panicked behavior on his end, but truth be told it could keep you from getting more hurt in the long run if he just tried to play along. you are loved, and it will be alright. there will be a tomorrow, and another one after that too. the days will pass and you will heal. its okay to think about him, but im not sure about texting him. i think it is completely in his hands if he wants to take another step. so, focus on yourself <3 you have so much time.

(im speaking on behalf of being in several relationships, one ending like yours. after staying with him for 2 years, it got worse and worse. i was begging to get a text message. a month after the break up, i found my now fiance. im not saying this is how itll end up for you, just wanted to share my side and why i gave the advice i gave <3)

I feel stupid for asking this, but ally life I don't think I've ever actually liked someone. I know for a fact I've gaslighted myself into thinking i like people, but I honestly don't know. recently I think I have gotten feelings (recently as in like 2 months) for someone, but I don't know how butterflies feel, or how different things you do are when you like someone. I tend to text him a lot and get really happy when I see him, and I've noticed some weird feeling, but ugh. it might just be being touch deprived. thank you for any help :')

i thought i liked someone but i think i just adore their talent

they are legitimately so insanely talented it's enough to amaze everyone and for a while i thought they could never like me because i'm just not on that level and i feel that i never could be

but i've learned to really value my own abilities the past few weeks lol

first off, i want to say dont stress too much about feeling (or not feeling) anything - people experience attraction differently, and there's no expectation for a time/place that it needs to happen (: that being said, here were the differences that helped me realize i did actually like someone

but it's been a few years so it's worn off, but i had so much fun while it lasted - now i think of things as much more fluid and i like not having a super clear distinction between romantic and platonic feelings. :3

just have fun! but try not to hurt yourself or others in doing so lol

I'd really appreciate some advice on my situation!

there's this guy at my school who I'm 99% sure has a crush on me. my friends and I have noticed him sneaking glances at me and hanging out near my classes; also, whenever I tell someone about him, they agree that he likes me. I'm interested in him as well - the thing is, we've never spoken to each other, and I don't know how to start a conversation with him; I struggle with extreme shyness and anxiety when it comes to talking to strangers (I've even had panic attacks because of it before) so, honestly, I don't want to start a conversation with him myself (don't get me wrong, I still want to talk to him!)
he seems really shy around me too compared to other people, so I'm not sure if he'll start a conversation with me myself.

some of my friends have offered to talk to him on my behalf, but I don't know of anything that they could say to him that won't embarrass me. plus, I'd much rather find a natural excuse to talk to him than have someone/myself approach him for no good reason.

my question is: what should I do? obviously, I'd prefer that one of my friends talk to him, but I don't know what the best approach would be. this awkward-eye-contact-in-the-hallways thing has been going on since December, and with summer vacation only a month away, I don't want to miss out on an opportunity like this.

omg is it not the worst thing ever liking someone that you just can't have??? I've never experienced it in my life until now and omg??? sometimes i swear this feels worse than a breakup but i also feel like i have no right to be so bothered lol and like i feel like nobody gets it!! i know i just need to get over it and i know that i will but like. it hurts so much

would love some advice on my screw up x

So my coworker and I had previously been interested in each other a little over a year ago but decided not to pursue anything because of our circumstances, but I still have a soft spot for him and it seems like he had one for me, up until now that is.

The other day, my coworker and I decided to go for a drive after work. He was on his motorbike, and I was in my car. We were on the phone while driving around and it was great. I jokingly told him “you should let me try your bike” and he said he’d be willing to. I told him “I don’t want to drop your bike though, I’m going to drop it,” but he insisted that I would be fine.

What a surprise, I dropped his bike in-front of him in the carpark we stopped at. It was so embarrassing and humiliating, and I felt so bad. I broke his mirror and also bent his gear shifter. I continuously apologised and he wasn’t mad or angry; he said it was fine and was very calm. I offered him money for the damage but he insisted I didn’t send anything, but I sent money anyways. He thanked me over text and told me not to worry, and also sent me a photo of his gearshift fixed, saying his brother was able to fix it for him. I texted him back saying I was relieved and that I was again, really sorry. Also said if he needed anymore cash to cover damage to let me know. But then he only reacted to these messages with a “haha” and thumbs up (iMessage); he has never just reacted to my messages without responding after.

I feel like I completely screwed up a good thing. I feel as if any chances of him having any feelings remaining for me are completely gone now. He probably doesn’t even have a soft spot for me anymore.I’m really beating myself up over this because after a year and a half of not really being close with each other, we started becoming friends outside of work and then I completely messed it up. I’m really embarrassed over it too lol.

So like, it’s been a LONG time since my last post on this thread, and I was just remembering my previous post on here where I was asking for advice on a situation(that I never actually remembered to check if anybody replied to… ;w;)
But anyways, updates, updates… that situation fell right through and that man ended up with one of my best friends lol
HOWEVER. As starstruck and attracted to him as I was, which was CRAZY because of how extremely Demisexual and Demiromantic I am, Im actually super glad that nothing ever came of it. Wildly enough, someone who was so much better for me was right around the corner, and a couple months after my crush had gotten with one of my best friends, I met THE MOST amazing angel in the universes. ❤️ So now I’m in a relationship with the most healing and patient man I’ve ever met, and I feel so wanted and appreciated. Never been so comfortable and safe around someone in my life. I am constantly startled by how well I’m treated lol

But, like, so….. apparently if you think you found someone perfect for you but it doesn’t work out well, no you haven’t, because someone even more perfect for you is probably coming? Idk, sounds wild to me but it happened ahaha
