Oh my gosh, a fan club I can get behind!

So, I've got roughly 350 models, and most of them are Breyer.

My favorite Breyer molds include Darwin SM, the new Fjord SM, Fighting Stallion Tr, and Rivet SM!

I'm actually currently prepping for my first model horse show which will be in August. I'm so nervous and excited to see how it pans out. I've been preparing and selecting models for a few weeks and I'm SO nervous about it since there's a lot of prep left to do in the next six weeks to be ready for it. I'm also raising funds for an equine charity at said show that I'm personally involved with!

Current customs in progress:
Sandstone, an SM scale pegasus, who will be painted in a sandstone style.
PAS, PAM, PAF who will become etchies.

I'll also be showing Tolga for the first time! Made and painted by D'ArqencialFox, one of the most talented people I've ever seen:

This model is themed to the Spectacled Flying Fox, Pteropus conspicillatus! It was made for me specifically! <3

I'm really stoked to show off my custom work for the first time, though most of those models are a WIP on my desk. I kind of made the mistake of doing writing camp along with model prep.

One thing I've had trouble finding is SM-scale tack. Does anyone have recommendations? I'm not opposed to building my own but I'd need to source the hardware which is a bit of a difficult thing to do, I've noticed.

Heck, a good source for tack in general would be nice. Also, if anyone knows where one can source compatible dolls for SM scale that'd be neat, since I can't find those either. (Amazingly, I can find MM/MW scale humans easier?) I've got a really nice CL/FR and TR doll pair; I invested in a Yvonne and I'm hoping to get their hair styled professionally soon.

This is so cool! Though I may not have a huge Breyer collection (as in, I own 1 vintage one that is actually a misprint/variation I believe!), i think this thread is awesome!! I’m planning to grow my collection a bit, there are a lot of breyers at the local antique store I go to and I might just snag em..
Here’s a pic of the one I have! I don’t rlly know much about it so if any of yall Breyer experts recognize it plspls let me know!! I’m curious to learn about it, it was an antique store find in Indiana!

Welcome to the thread! What you have there is Black Beauty, specifically the one from 1981 that has the single hind sock (after that they did a front sock for a long while, before that they did a variety of socks - all four legs, three, one front one back, etc.). The IDYB website is the best place to ID any Breyer - here is the Black Beauty mold page, you can see your model second on the list :) He looks like he's in fantastic condition, very nice!

    Hi everyone!
I've been getting into model horses for quite a few months now. I think I have 26 model horses (almost all Breyer), two zebras, one statue, and one crystal carved into a horse. Some of the Breyers are vintage, one in particular was in production from 1965 to 1984, according to CollectYourBreyer.

I will probably post pictures eventually. I'd like to take some of my model horses out for photoshoots when the flowers start blooming in my area. :)

Postby Lucrecia0311 » Mon Apr 08, 2024 6:18 pm

Are any of you guys in the model horse hobby? I actually learned about CS a while ago because I was on Model Horse Blab! So I am curious how many of you are also a part of the plastic pony community!! :)

I love breyers. I am from New Zealand so shipping is really expensive, I only have two breyers which were bought for me by my parents for christmas. I would love to have more but each one is over 100 dollars in my currency because of delivery cost.
