Always thinking about Velzna/Volsinii!!! Volsinii was an etruscan city in current Umbria but then was rebuild more south, it was destroyed after the Romans raided it and took over it, what's interesting its this city is where the Fanum Voltumnae was held, a political and religious festival dedicated to the God Voltumna or Velthune, even more interesting its that this festival was the only time all the kings of the etruscan city states would come by together and that Voltumna its considered the principal deity of Etruscan religion, I even read that Velzna was called "the eldest city of the Etruscans" but I only read that once tbf
It makes me wonder how important Velzna was for the Etruscans perhaps not like we would think of a capital nowadays, but it certainly had a role in bringing separate cities together. Unfortunately after the take over the festival stopped and the city lost that part of its identity even after being rebuild, we do not know a lot about because of that too, there is some remains of the old city of course but a lot of it is veiled in mistery and it's very sad to me
