from what I've heard from the Discord server, this is actually pretty common for spring and summer months. I've also seen people who were online during december 17th 2017 (the most users ever online) that even THAT wasn't as bad as this.

right? like yes it is much worse during events because more people are on but like you said even when events AREN'T going on the lag is still pretty bad, also agree with everybody saying they might need to put more pets in the pound per release

It’s because there were over twice as many users online as pets in the pound, so if every user tried to get a pet only half of them could.
On the pound account, you can see the pets that will be in the next pound opening. This opening there were apx. 1271 pets if I remember correctly and right after I adopted my pet I checked the users online and there were over 2,600. So that’s why so many people didn’t get anything at all.

i dont think the update is to blame. its just that theres so many people online due to the event, so site traffic is crazy

Even outside of events, the pound should not be lagging at all. I hope it is not an issue of server costs.
As for the update, it encourages people to try their luck for longer, which worsens the traffic on the pound page. Before, a lot of us kind of stopped refreshing too hard after the second batch of pets since everything valuable was gone.

The thing is, if they know the website is going to be busier during events then why schedule the Pound to fall around rollover in the first place? It seems very counter intuitive. There's a few solutions that could be made:
- Only open the pound during less peak website hours
- Add more pets to the pound during this event time
- Gradually open the pound during peak hours (slower than it is currently)
My coding knowledge is very much limited, however it seems difficult to have one person coding the entire website. Do they not hire staff to help with website maintenance? (/Gen /nm)
