i love the move "everything everwhere all at once." it's really great at pinpointing chinese-american culture and asian-american culture in general. i really loved the actors and the representation w mental illness (at least that's how i interpreted it according to my own experiences). that movie makes me feel so seen
^ omg i love that for u glad to hear it was good

  • i'm okay,, my mouth is sore from surgery, but i'm feeling much better than i thought i would be. i'm about to eat spaghettios for the first time in years. i assume i'm not going to like the taste as much as i did when i was a kid, but i'm a bit excited anyway sdkfh

^ i'm sorry you're sick,, i hope you get better soon :eyes:
    > i bought a gallon tub of ice cream for this weekend, since i'm a bit limited on what i can eat. i think i might have overestimated how much ice cream i would even want to eat over the next couple of days KJSHDKJFH,, the flavor is nice, though, which is good, considering i'll probably be eating it for awhile lmao
v tell me about something you like.

if I was less normal I would write a wall of text about dungeon meshi but I shall save that for my friends. either way im going to talk about it! :') a beautifully drawn story with so many themes that are executed amazingly and character designs that are so well thought out that I am jealous I didnt make them myself. the characters are on a journey into a dungeon to save the main characters sister. it starts out like a comedy and ends up very intense and emotional. pleeeeeease everyone read (or watch, the anime just came out. I need to catch up on the episodes so im not sure how far along it is though) it. the main character is so autistic and asexual coded and as an autistic asexual person ................. he is very cool

^ dude I bought ice cream too I hope you enjoy yours as much as I will enjoy mine. im guessing your limited options are due to the surgery (wisdom teeth?) so enjoy what you can! I also had spaghettios tonight we are the same
> time to draw and finish better call saul
v what's one character you really relate to? feel free to elaborate. or not.

^ definitely the narrator from Edgar Allen Poe’s The Black Cat. I relate to the way that he loves something to the point of hating it so much he kills it. When he goes to replace it the cycle repeats even though he lives with the guilt of what happened the first time. He kills Pluto because there was a point that Pluto did love him and he remembers that love and resents Pluto for holding him accountable for his violent behavior. At least that’s the way I see it

> I was talking to my teacher today and I love her so much. We have this joke where we call her Mrs Beanut Butta because she reminds me of Mr peanut butter from Bojack Horseman. I emailed her about where to buy the most budget friendly pottery wheel and when she responded she said “I’m not lying here, I think you’ve become the best sculptor I’ve ever had as a student. sincerelyest, Mrs Beanut Butta” That really stuck with me because I’ve never been the best at any sort of art form. I’ve always wanted to be a traditional artist but drawing has never been easy to me and I’ve never been satisfied with the results but with clay everything is just easy. It all just feels so natural. I also love that she said Mrs Beanut Butta cause cmon that’s hilarious. She also said I’m practically her TA!!! She said I’m always helping her out and I love feeling that important to her. I also love teaching the younger kids about pottery. She always lets me do the wheel demonstration and show younger kids how wheel throwing can be challenging but with work it can be super fun. I’m so excited to go back tomorrow I have a bunch of new projects swirling around in my head.

v what’s something someone said to you that really stuck with you? Good or bad.

Oopsies! I quit :(

i dont know if i can name any media that changed my worldview or anything but i will say the most impactful piece of media ive seen that i find myself thinking about often is everything everywhere all at once. watched it with a friend in 2022 and my unemotional freak self almost started crying by the end of it. gorgeous film with so much emotion put into it

^ I HOPE YOU HAVE FUN!! my dad doesnt garden professionally or anything but i also am a huuge fan of working in his garden during growing season :o)
> my platonic partner of like 8 years is moving in with me in 6 days and im sooo beyond excited. i hate being alone (<- freak extrovert) and hes going to help me survive the winter (my health issues. lol.) so not only will it be super fun but its also going to take a huuge weight off my mind
v hmmm.. what's your ideal living situation? do you prefer having roommates, or would you rather live alone? what does your ideal house look like? pets? country?

I want to live in Berlin, kind of have a simple lifestyle in an apartment or whatever,I would maybe live alone though I would like to live with a gf, maybe. Also want cats

^ hooray!!! Super happy for you. Also agree on everything everywhere all at once! I love movies and books about mothers and daughters. and just movies abt female friendship in general. The joy luck club, steel magnolias, crying in h mart… they’re all amazing
> something that always stuck with me… there’s a scene in The Joy Luck Club where June confronts her mom about the pressure she puts on her to be perfect, and her mom responds “never expect! only hope.” June is tired of being compared to others, especially the daughters of her mother’s friends, and her mom tells her “at the dinner, everybody else took best quality crab, and you took the worst. because you have best quality heart.” it makes me so emotional and resonates so deeply with me, June as a character just resonates in so many different ways to me and that scene makes me sob hysterically every single time. I absolutely recommend reading it/watching the movie.
