response: As Kaze awoke, they looked around in confusion. What happened? It seemed like he had fallen asleep as soon as Rune had opened the door. Well, at least everything appeared to have worked out; everyone seemed to be awake now. Kaze felt relieved about that, and looked around with a smile at all of the goobies being reunited with their friends who had fallen asleep. Then they noticed Jystyr, and decided to approach him.
"Hi Jystyr. It was you I was playing games with in my dreams just now, right? I had fun. Thank you for waking everyone up." Kaze said with a smile. "Well, since everyone's awake now, I suppose I do not have to try to figure out how to use this to wake them up anymore... Probably for the best, I really had no idea what I was doing." Kaze laughed a little and held out the other court lavender he had found. "Here, you can have this one too."
"And hey, if you ever want to play games again sometime, just let me know!"

response: Lily looked around as soon as she woke up; she was relieved to see Shell waking up nearby, but she felt worried for a moment when she saw Hope was not beside the two friends. However, she had a feeling she knew where Hope might have gone, so she rushed off with Shell following along behind her. Fortunately, Hope was in fact where Lily had thought they might be, and the two siblings were happily reunited.
Approaching Jystyr with Hope and Shell beside her, Lily beamed up at him. "Jystyr, I am so glad you are back! I missed you a lot." Lily paused for a few moments before adding, "It was fun playing games with you. I hope we will be able to play many more games with you now that you are back!"

response: Seeing Lily and Shell awake again filled Hope with joy. They were so glad everything had worked out! Hope happily followed Lily over to Jystyr.
After Lily finished speaking with Jystyr, Hope said, "Oh, I have something for you! I found this while I was looking for ingredients." Hope held out the star fragment they had found. "I know it's not much, but... I hope it will inspire you like the stars have always inspired me." Smiling, Hope added, "I am really glad you are back."

He barely looked over at anyone or anything before tossing the black goo towards the melting gob. After all of this, maybe HE needed to sleep.

"Sorry, that was weird to say just... just take the fragment."

response: Bewildered, Chase found himself awake again. He clutched at his chest, the panic of just a moment earlier still lacing across his entire being. He had been running, trying not to fall asleep again... before being dragged back into the depths of sleep. He sat up a moment, taking it in. He had run away from everyone, from Grim. His fear had overridden everything else, what sort of companion was he? He looked down to see an item beside him he had fallen upon during his mad dash away. A... wire?

Like everyone else, even as the strange immortal glob acted, he knew what it wanted. Items. Try to make things right. "I'm not... sure if some things you can make right," he tells the creature honestly, as he holds up thew wire. "Sometimes we just trip and screw up. Like... really badly. And I'm not sure what comes next... but maybe we can make sure it'll be okay."

response: The entire time, she had been asleep. Like many of the agels, the sleep had been deep and unchanging despite what their companions did. She found herself, however, a touch sad. She remembered her dreams. She remembered playing games, with someone who laughed. And she remembered she was not afraid, for she had that strange laughing guardian. And as she looked towards the situation... she realized the creature and her guardian were one and the same.

Stretching out limbs that were stiff from a couple of days of disuse, she made her way closer like the others were. She understood the request as well. In her hands she carried fallen starlight, which she carefully offered over. "I know you did not mean for all of this to happen... and thank you for watching over us. For trying to make it right. You have yet to ever let us down." She gives a gentle smile.

"Whoever you find yourself to be, whoever you make yourself now... please know we will all still love and cherish you. Okay? You're perfect just being you. Keep at it." She winks. "It's all any of us can do yeah?"

response: Grim walked up next, after making sure his companions were okay, holding up a wizard hat. "A momento of your time with us here," he explains. "I'd like to think that... some of us are friends now yeah?" He had a hopeful look as he asks this. "Anyways, whatever comes next well, we will never forget you." He pauses before grinning with a flourish. "Yer a wizard, 'arry," He says, in an exaggerated speech before chuckling.

Ye... had others worried. Tch, not me 'course," he adds quickly with a shrug.

Seeing how the specimen seemed to enjoy Cookie’s twig, his confidence stayed the same! Pulling his crossbody bag across his torso, he zips open his bag to see a bundle of lavender and a random shiny object. Silently thinking to himself, he reaches in and grabs the shiny object. Bending down, clasping his hands around the object, he whispers to the gob. “Hey… I tend to find shiny spoons pretty so… I’m hoping you’ll enjoy something shiny too!” Gently placing the object next to the gob, waiting for it to get absorbed into the goo. Stepping back a little bit, smiling to himself for one of the first times during his time there, confidence booming. Cookie's spine had a shiver sent down it, a tapping hand from behind him rested on his small shoulder. Confidence dwindling, Cookie was anxious to turn around. His anxiety soon went away. Whoever was being him grabbed his shoulders, turning the small goobie around. Cookie's jaw fell open out of shock. Running to his now-awake friends, engulfing them all in a group hug. "I missed you guys so much!!" Cookie's words muffled into August's chest.

After exchanging 'I missed you's, Cookie informed his friends about all that went on while the three of them were asleep. Reaching into his satchel, he handed each of them an item to offer to the gob. August grabbing a bundle of lavender, Peri grabbing a partially used candle and Wolf grabbing a fallen star, each item seemed to align to them perfectly. Each of them turning to the gob, offering them in turn.

"Yes! Jystyr is back! Thanks M-" Inori suddenly covered her mouth, remembering that she's probably not supposed to mention the name of another godly being in front of one. "Hey, you can say that," Zeta reassured his sister as he walked past her. "Hah, probably not..." Inori and Zeta both turned to the new goobie that appeared - the one they considered to be Jystyr? But he was so different, he kept on dripping, and his once sparkly goo filled with stars was as dark as the abyss. And despite he performed the grand feats of rising the moon and spreading the stars, then vanquished the Gobbess, he doesn't seem like that friendly goob Zeta heard from the stories.

"Still, having a broken gob is better than none," Inori sighed. Zeta probably knew why. The goobies here now have the Gob, however broken he is, back among them. The Gobbess... they were foes, they couldn't be together in one place. But Inori should be thinking about what happened to Maxrage in Mitardia, that disaster that left their homeland Rapyuta without a guardian.

As Zeta and Inori slowly walked out of the scientists' lab and out into the open, they remembered how wild the ride was. When that giant black goo monster first appeared, the agels dropping asleep and the diabs acting without thinking, Inori clinging onto her faith for Maxrage to stay awake, Zeta fending off the darkness while carrying Wilma away, Sai's sacrifice leading to her being consumed by the darkness; how they stayed at the lab, Zeta going out every day to look for ingredients while his sister Inori turned from disrespecting the specimen to caring for it and Wilma and Sai; how when the black tar arrived Ino bravely stood ground while opening the back door for Zeta to escape... All of that strife, flickering between drowsiness and wakefulness, just to achieve the revival of the gob.

It was worth it, right?

The night sky, though black, was scattered with tiny tealights. Bright, unlike that black goo threatening to swallow everything. Now, Zeta and Inori aren't afraid even when passing through the in-betweens, the dangerous tiles of dark masses too unsafe to gather in. "We finally get to see the moon and stars again," Inori looked up, then back at Zeta, She put one paw on her necklace. "Hey, do you know, when Maxrage was in Rapyuta, the night sky would be red with a blood moon eclipse?"

"Uhh... that's a bit... terrifying..." After seeing Inori trying hard not to smile, Zeta let out a playful laugh. To be frank, he did not want that kind of eternal starless night anywhere, especially at home. "But Ino, that's not gonna happen anytime soon."

"Who knows?"

Zeta and Inori continued their way home. Sure, the skies of Rapyuta are still the normal black scattered with stars when they returned. But even a gob flung into outer space could revive... would a breacher sealed up in another faraway realm stand a chance? Ino would always be expecting that day. As for Zeta...

Maybe save the crimson skies for a later adventure.

"Oh my flip, Aaaahh!" the bunny agel jumped onto the roof after seeing the formless black goo splash onto the regal gobbess, swallowing her. Sure, they know that the gobbess had once kicked the gob into outer space, and they have tons of hate against each other, but nobody deserves to be eaten like that! It's just so... scary!

Wilma could here some diabs cheering on the side, that the agels can finally get a taste of their own medicine, for they once drove out and nearly killed the diabs' leader. But Wilma felt uneasy, not because they were an agel or they hate the gob, but the scene of Fallen being swallowed kept replaying in their mind, it was so haunting! What they saw, they didn't consider her to be the gobbess, just... someone... being dissolved in goo only to reform as part of another mysterious entity. What does it feel like? Does it hurt, or you can't even feel the hurt?

"AAAAAAAAHHH!" Wilma bolted out the back door. They didn't even want to see the rest of the story, or say goodbye to Jystyr who just revived. They wanted to go back, to the Testament, turn all the lights on so there wouldn't be any shadows, curl up with a blanket and stuffed animals beneath the arcade machines, and sleep. Not that cursed sleep forcing her to play games. The kind of sleep that refreshes them and cleans their memories and makes them forget everything that happened. Maybe even with a goolown buddy that can sing them to sleep. Not everyone enjoys these once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

After seeing Wilma bolt straight out, then Zeta and Inori leave with their goodbyes, Sai wandered alone into the mage tower in front of the scientists' lab. The experiences of these goobies were surely terrifying, they should go rest as soon as possible. But not Sai. She was reading.

so he split himself in two,
one to rule the sky and one to rule the earth...

her voice trailed off, trembling. She had witnessed the fall of Fallen, how the black goo consumed her... Jystyr and Fallen were once two halves of the same entity, now did they fuse back again? Could the great gob be coming back? No... what she saw didn't resemble the great gob at all. The new form of the gob was lifeless, the black totally dull, the brighter parts ice-cold.

Speaking of Fallen... Fallen's last words, about more goocreatures scattered on other planets, waiting for their destinies... gooble fest is coming, and there is no more gobbess to create goo-offs for them... would these creatures somehow try to find a place here? What would they be like? Like goobies, animalistic like goo-offs, or... something else entirely? Goo-objects? But how can they move and arrive here...

All of that was making Sai's head ache. So she flew out of the mage tower, finding her own destiny.

solandis watched as the gob transformed and the gobbess disappeared, frozen in place and unable to look away. after all that had happened over the past two years, she wasn’t sure what to think of things anymore. it was as if her world was turned upside down; the great gobs aren’t what she originally thought they’d be like, especially since the first celebration. it felt unreal.

all she could do was watch and absorb the information that was being thrown at her. even from a distance, it overwhelmed the agel tremendously. so, she stood quiet and, when everything settled, lowered her head. her thoughts immediately vanished, the silence giving her mind a chance to reset. ‘it’s over,’ pitre thought to himself. ‘it’s over!’ it was difficult for him to hide the smile that was forming, his excitement practically taking over. he paced around in circles, trying to figure out what had just occured. that same thought was dominating the rest, though - ‘it’s over.’ another year of witnessing the world change had drawn to a close, and pitre was eager for everything to go back to the peaceful normal that once was. all he could do now was hope that next year would be calm for a change. atlas wasn’t used to seeing the gob and gobbess interact; it was his first time branching out and properly partaking in goovolution celebrations, and this was certainly not what he had imagined it to be. as the great gobs chatted, atlas found himself slowly moving further and further away, not wanting to be a part of it anymore. response: Kaze examined the sparkly leaf they had been given curiously. However, he was soon distracted by the sound of Fallen speaking to Jystyr. Figuring they had better pay attention to what was going on just in case a fight broke out- they certainly would not want to be caught unaware in that case!- Kaze tuned in to the conversation. Hopefully it would not come to that; with everything else that had just happened, the last thing everyone needed right now was a fight. Especially considering Jystyr had only just returned, it would be devastating for so many goobies if he ended up getting hurt again. Fortunately, for now at least, Fallen did not seem to be preparing to attack. In fact, she sounded... Scared?

Most of what Fallen was saying did not make much sense to Kaze. So, he just kept listening and watching in silent confusion. As the conversation continued, Fallen seemed to become annoyed about something, though, and Kaze tensed up a bit. Then, Jystyr's goo started pooling around Fallen's feet, and despite her efforts to move away, she seemed unable to. What was going on? Fallen seemed to threaten Jystyr, but then she started sinking into the goo... But as confusing as all of this was, something even more startling happened as Kaze felt words that were not their own start echoing through their goo, and the same was seemingly happening to that of the other goobies as well.

The words only left Kaze even more confused. Cruelties? Paying a toll? What did all of that mean? Did Kaze even want to know what all of that meant? And then Fallen vanished, sinking completely into the goo. While Kaze was not a fan of Fallen, he still could not help but feel a little concerned about her disappearance. Was she going to be okay? Well, Jystyr had made it back after what happened last year, so... Maybe Fallen would come back eventually, too. Kaze just hoped that if she did, there would not be another big fight. Surely it was possible for everyone to get along... Or at least, co-exist in peace?

Regardless, things seemed to have calmed down for now, and Kaze felt the tension slowly leave their body. Jystyr reformed, and then the sky returned to normal. Kaze felt a smile settle on his face as he looked up at the stars; they had been missing for so long, and it was such a relief to see them back again. It seemed a lot of goobies were relieved to see the stars again- Kaze overheard the trio of agels from before excitedly whispering amongst themselves about various stars and constellations. For now, at least, there was a peaceful resolution to everything that had been going on. Anything could happen tomorrow, but right now Kaze was going to enjoy this moment of calm and happiness. Well, they might not know what would happen next, but they did know one thing. Whatever did happen, Kaze was going to be there, doing his best like always.

choice: Stay determined
response: Lily was still so filled with happiness about Jystyr's return that she had not yet considered what would happen when Fallen woke up. Fallen's words quickly got her attention, though, and she looked at the two, concerned about what might happen next. The last time the two had interacted, it had ended in a huge battle, and Jystyr had been hurt. Lily certainly did not want that to happen again, but she did not want Fallen to be hurt either. She did not want anyone to be hurt. There had to be a way where everyone could live together in peace, right?

Fallen's words startled Lily. Jystyr had died? She had known he had been hurt quite badly, but she had not realized it had been that bad. Lily had thought Jystyr had just been healing in space somehow. She managed to calm herself down by reminding herself Jystyr was back. Hopefully, nothing like the battle that had happened that day would ever happen again. Hopefully, no one would ever be hurt that badly again.

Learning that apparently the two had left goo everywhere they had gone, and Fallen had expected Jystyr to eat it in order to heal, Lily felt rather surprised. There were even more goo creatures out there? Eating goo creatures would heal Jystyr and Fallen when they were hurt? What did not surprise her, however, was that Jystyr had chosen not to eat the goo creatures. In the interactions she had with Jystyr, Lily had seen how much he cared about the goobies- about everyone. When Fallen threatened to send Jystyr away again, Lily barely resisted the urge to cry out. Fallen just couldn't send Jystyr away again, not when he had finally returned! So many goobies had missed him so much... And if, as Fallen had threatened, he was unable to return this time... It was too horrible to think about...

But then Fallen began sinking into the goo which seemed to have surrounded her. Lily was confused; what was happening to her? And the words that seemed to echo through her goo... What did they mean? Something about paying a toll? Before Lily could try to puzzle it all together, Fallen had sunk entirely into the goo. There seemed to be no sign of her now, like she had completely vanished. Lily felt worried about her; even though Lily did not like how Fallen treated Jystyr and anyone she considered beneath her, Lily still cared about her. Just like she cared about everyone. She hoped Fallen had not been hurt by... Whatever had happened to her. Lily still wanted the world to be one where everyone was accepted, where everyone could live in peace. Things were not hopeless, though. Maybe Fallen would return someday, just like Jystyr had. And maybe then, everyone would live in peace together. Lily would continue trying to spread kindness as much as she could until then.

In the meantime, seeing Jystyr reform and turn the sky back to normal, complete with the moon and stars, filled Lily with hope.

choice: Go stargazing!
response: Hope smiled as they looked at the stardust Jystyr gave them, it was so cool! They felt so happy; Jystyr was back, everyone was awake- Oh. Right. If everyone was awake, that meant Fallen was awake too... Her voice interrupted their thoughts, and they looked over to see Fallen standing near Jystyr. At least she did not seem to be about to attack him, in fact she seemed kind of scared. That was unexpected. What Fallen said to Jystyr shocked and confused Hope. All they could really do was stand there and listen as Fallen kept talking.

Fallen's threat to send Jystyr away again was very upsetting for Hope. They did not want another fight to happen, or for Jystyr to be sent away again. They had missed him so much, and he had only just returned! There had to be some kind of peaceful resolution to this, right? Anxiously, they watched the two, hoping this would not end in a fight. And then Fallen started sinking into the goo, and eventually disappeared entirely. Hope had very mixed feelings about this; they were relieved Fallen had not been able to hurt Jystyr again, but they were also worried about her. What happened? Was she okay?

Soon, though, Hope was distracted from their thoughts as Jystyr returned the sky to normal, and the stars finally reappeared after being gone for so long. They gazed up at the stars, finding their favorite constellations and eagerly pointing them out to Lily and Shell, just like they had in the past. Hope smiled up at the sky despite everything that had happened. They might not know what had happened, or what would happen in the future, but at least right now, the stars that had always inspired them so much were back. Shining with hope for the future.

response: Shell was really confused about everything that had happened from the moment Fallen woke up and approached Jystyr. It felt like so much information had been said, and yet it only left them with more questions. Not to mention what happened to Fallen. Shell had barely even been able to process what they were hearing and seeing. Jystyr had died? There were other goo creatures out there somewhere? And those words that had seemed to echo through everyone's goo... Something about paying a toll... What had that meant? How had the words echoed through everyone's goo like that? And it seemed like Fallen had disappeared.

Shell hoped Fallen was okay, despite everything she had done. Shell was not the type to hold grudges or focus on negativity, preferring to try to stay positive and look for peaceful solutions. Though, they did feel a bit of worry... If Fallen came back, would she try to get revenge? Shell did not want there to be any more big fights where people got hurt. What happened last year had been devastating. Many goobies had been sad while Jystyr was gone, and many goobies would be sad while Fallen was gone, too. Shell did not want history to just keep repeating itself, with the two sending each other away over and over. But maybe things would be different next time. Maybe a peaceful solution could be found, after all. Shell hoped so.

Listening to Hope and Lily whispering about the stars, Shell started to relax, and eventually joined in. Jystyr was back, and they had the stars to light the sky again. Surely everything would work out somehow.
