i recently started a small real-ish cat hoard! there are a lot of cats not in there or on my WL that technically qualify, but I don't feel like they fit for some reason. not sure why hmm!

But there’s other cats that I like that don’t fit so I just made a all other cats hoard group that I like any cats that don’t fit to either get sent to SabrinaB lol

{ BOBA CATS. so many of them !! I hoarded 200 of them when they came out, they're just such a fun litter! unfortunately I don't have any clever name ideas, but perhaps lyrics from a song? 🤔 congrats on 1k, that's amazing !!

What was your first hoard, and why?
{ oh, nothing brings me joy like talking about my rat hoard! I think I've hoarded rats pretty much since I joined! it's been so long I don't remember every reason, but I know one big part of it was because I was sad people hated the species so much. back then rats were easily the most disliked lineart on site and young me wanted to give them a home instead of letting them get sent to the Pound! then at some point shortly after that I was meeting people here who had pet rats, and that's how I got my first real rats, almost 12 years ago-- so, really, my whole rat personality came from right here on CS. even though I still want to get the site record for my hoard someday, I really just hoard rats now because they're so deeply intertwined with who I am. and, of course, I still adore them anyway! I always get so excited to see new rats ♡

What was your first hoard, and why?

I just joined CS last month so I'm still learning about it, but as soon as I saw these staff dogs I knew I they were going to e my first hoards. They're just so cute, and the clown one just makes my brain go brr.

What was your first hoard, and why?:

My first hoard technically was my rat group, but my first intentional hoard was between these two:
Cotton Candy Kitties - 2017 Jan PPS kitten
Into The Wild - 2017 EmberWolf Staff Litter Dog

The cats started because I was taken instantly by the colors,
the dogs started because I have a soft spot for wild canines and loved the design.

My lny worm hoard just reached 100! Its my largest by far, im pretty proud of how its been growing!

What was your first hoard, and why?

My first hoard is also my oldest: The Teal Cyber Butterfly Wolf. I started the hoard because the BW made me think of Electronica music! The wings and cyber design are so much fun. I couldn't help but wonder how a full page of them sitting neatly together would look. I completed that hoard way back in 2011.

Also somewhat related - I just finished my very first non-BW hoard today:

I've loved that Dragon since its release, so I finally decided to collect more. The whole litter has such a beautiful palette, but that particular outcome's design dazzles me. The plants look like beautifully embellished bulrushes. And the 'halo' around its head pops so nicely against a dark background.

Also, this hoard of yours really takes me back: [Click] I remember when 'Chupagonia' was coined. That was such a fun discussion! I was going to make mine an unlimited litter hoard. But stopped at 100 because I had several other 2010 hoards going at the time as well.

I wasn't around for the original Chupagonia discussion. I started hoarding the butterfly wolves after the name had become official. The only thing I seem to remember is that the name had something to do with Chupa Chups, is that right? I do remember seeing your gorgeous hoard before, though! It must have been years ago, but I still remember being impressed by the quantity and loving the sight of them together on one page. ♥

Thank you for your kind words! It's definitely been a long time since I first showcased that hoard! The Chupagonias is still one of my favourite litters to this day.
And you're correct about Chupa Chups. Here's the original rundown of how it started. And that's when this happened.

I'm quoting from my hoard thread ^^: "In early 2011, I participated in a quantity auction for a Blue Scarf Advent. I won the auction with a quantity of Andalusian and Friesian horses from Advent 2010. It was my first experience with hoarding, and I liked the pets that I had collected for my auction bid so much that I collected a mini-hoard of Andalusian and Friesian horses for myself. Thus, in early 2011, my first hoard was born."

What was your first hoard, and why?

I'm pretty sure it was actually my Chinese New Year hoard. I thought the 2011 pets were cool, and thanks to studying Tai Chi had an interest in Chinese culture. I "completed" the hoard several times over the years, but turns out it's still fun to collect them so it's still active.

It will always be Chinese New Year for me because that (and Spring Festival) were what I celebrated when I actually lived in China.
