Oh I got a really cool story. Reserving so I don’t get ninja’d since it’s a bit of an explanation. But I know my dog sent our current dog after his passing.
Edit:
Our very first family dog, Bear, passed last year at the age of six very unexpectedly. He developed IMHA (Immune-mediated hemolytic anemia) symptoms over a single weekend and didn’t pull through the week. There was nothing anyone could have done, and it was a terrible shock for the whole family. I’ve got this little beanie baby of a black dog that resembles Bear and started using it as a coping mechanism. After a month, my family was really missing the little guy and the guilt and heartbreak about getting another dog was starting to wear off and we were getting anxious to have another dog to fill the new silence and emptiness in the house. There was a little chihuahua mix at the local pet rescue. He was tricolor and looked like a puppy at the age of 1, so my family decided to go and have a look but by the time we got out there, he had just freshly been adopted out by another family. I’m not one to channel the energy of “oh it wasn’t meant to be, there’s another destiny” but it really felt that way at the time so over the weekend I sat down in the privacy of my room and spoke with the beanie baby that resembled Bear- I’m not crazy, that’s how I chose to cope with his sudden passing- and I told him that we were looking for another dog, and I trust he would know better when it came to finding one so I asked that he send me some suggestions, because we were all getting restless at this point. About a day later I saw an ad on Craigslist for these Pomeranian mix puppies in a town about a 30 minute drive from our home. I had been showing my mom ad after ad but we live near the border and a lot of dogs are smuggled and traumatized out of Mexico so it’s a risk with all these ads that claim a dog is a certain breed or has been updated on vaccines and such. But this ad was legit, and one of the puppies was a tricolor just like the chihuahua mix we missed at the shelter. So I reached out and contacted the lady and said we were interested in that guy. We worked out the payment and meeting time the next day, but I was met with radio silence by morning. My mom worked that day and wouldn’t be able to go see the pup, and I can’t drive the freeway so my sister and her friend were going to be in charge of going as they were housesitting in that area. This is where it gets too coincidental.
My mom almost never gets out early. And with the radio silence from the breeder, I figured it wasn’t going to happen. I ask that my sister text the lady instead and explain she was available to meet her up to see the puppy. Again, it was radio silence until about 11:30 AM. She agreed to meet up somewhere at noon and gave my sister an address. My sister goes and as fate would have it, my mom miraculously was given the rest of the day off at noon, and her workplace was a five minute drive from the meeting location. So she met my sister there, and they were able to see the puppy together, which worked out so much better than my sister having to drive all the way back home and back to the house she was watching (would’ve been an hour worth of driving to drop the puppy back off at home). Literally everything fell into place perfectly, you could not have even planned something as well as it went. My favorite part of this whole thing is that the breeder had named the puppy Teddy, which is the exact same name I ended up getting attached to because it was a homage to Bear. Teddy Bear.
And if none of that convinced you enough, I have a picture of Bear taken 7 years ago when he was a puppy of the same age, sleeping in a unique position. The night we brought Teddy home, he fell asleep on my bed in an exact position as Bear did. To this day I think it was Bear confirming he sent Teddy, I can’t explain how else all those coincidences perfectly aligned any better. Also, the cuddles is what we all missed most from Bear and Teddy is about as cuddly and lap dog friendly as you can get. Bear covered all our needs.

^ Oop, only three? Gonna have to get creative and mix and match.
> Finally slept through the night and might actually be awake during daylight hours for once??? I’m terrible with my sleep schedule.
v Do you have any cool ghost stories? If not, what’s something strange that happened that you just can’t really explain?
