Truffle couldn't help it, the constant urge to go places and do this. The horrible itch that scratched the back of his mind every day, ‘you're missing out on something’, somebody was doing something outside and he was missing out by staying inside. So when the winter tide came, coating the whole world in a powdery dust and stopping anyone from leaving their home he felt unimaginably at peace. Many would panic about not being able to leave their home but Truffle didn't feel that way, instead it was a blessing, ‘nobody is outside doing things I'm not’, there was no fear of missing out because he wasn't missing out, nobody could do anything outside today. So with a warm cup of cocoa and a fantasy movie he settled down on his couch, truly for the first time fully relaxed during the day. That snow-in made Truffle realize, if he wasn't thinking about what he's missing out on he could be so relaxed, so even if it took some time and patience he no longer acted on his urge to always be doing things outside.

It was Sunday. I'm sitting at the kitchen counter, staring off into the distance. Tiny white specks catch my eye outside the window. I heard the radio announcer report that it's best not to leave the house. It had snowed heavily the night before, this was to be expected. But, the way the flakes fall just makes everything seem so peaceful. My brother changes the radio station, and I hear a soft tone coming through; blissful. My mom, beside me in the kitchen making breakfast. The smell of the savory bacon is one I will never forget. The music starts to play louder, filling the voided silence.

The snow continued to fall harder, confirming the snow in. In all honesty, I didn’t even mind. Perhaps that meant no school the next day? Another day to relax with my family. The scent of bacon and pancakes were prominent in the air now, it felt so soothing. Everything felt calm, positive. The music fills my ears for the last time.
