you are a new player that has a ur banana. you ask what its worth, you’re told its worth 1 non. you want a non swirl, you do some research, realize that your banana and the non swirl are both worth a non. you send some trades, all your trades get cancelled because demand says your banana isn’t worth the same as the non swirl even though they’re on the same tier.
I snipped this so it’s not such a big reply but honestly this is exactly what I’m talking about!
I’d not pitch making any pets more expensive but lowering the pets that are the bad demand pets for their tier to a value in which they easily trade for. This then makes these pets desirable again as people won’t be trying to squeeze every drop of value out of less informed players
...
I think making things as simple as possible and narrowing down value would help. The pets worth 1.5-2 non are a great example as the same player will view the same pet 2 different ways depending on if they’re trade for or away this pet just for their own profit
Sunka - you've spoken my heart.
Bluefly - thanks for clarifying the point that this is not to increase the value of non's in c$ or to make pets more expensive. I can see where you're directed at now, and I agree on your point to narrow pets value. Let me help you elaborate on this further.
It cracks me up how ninjas are frowned upon, but this isn't. A value range, operate in conjunction to form a loophole in our trading system, allowing learned users to exploit less-informed players through these "fair trades". This is indifferent to a ninja trade, but camouflaged as clean and fair as a Doctor's robeAbsolutely ridiculous.
An example where this could be problematic is the UR Flower Dragon. This pet is currently a mess in value because active traders buy at 3.5 nons and will absolutely not sell it for anything under 4 nons (if not 4.5 nons!) The UR Flower Dragon is currently the best - if not one of the best UR's to flip and trade down to 40-45MAs![]()
There are heaps of different ways to profit and grow your collection on CS. The commonly-used method includes:(1) exploiting the value range loophole (difficulty: Medium - High);
(2) trading-down from non's to MA's (difficulty: Medium - High);
(3) off-site trades (difficulty: Low - Medium);
(4) trading-down MAs for bulk OMGSC - Extremely Uncommons ("EUCs) (difficulty: Low - Medium); and
(5) trading-down new stores / older rares for bulk recent rares (difficulty: Low - Medium).
I will explain each method below. For new players and those looking to grow their collection, knowing these twists and turns can be a helpful guide for you to climb the "ranks" quicker!
Under the current Regulations, all profiting methods explained below are acceptable and "fair" notwithstanding the public dissent towards this system, as evinced across this 9-pages long forum thread.
Method 1: Exploiting the Value Range Loophole
- Option 1: Buy low and sell high
Rule: The UR Flower Dragon has a value range of 35-45MA.
Profit margin: Varies per pet - but can stretch up to 25-35%
Difficulty: Medium to High as it requires time to find someone oblivious to this loophole or willing to trade up. It also needs the player to be familiar with what pets are easy to trade down, and which aren't.
Instructions
This option is self-explanatory. Person A trades for the dragon at 35MA, and later sells at 45MA. This happens super often
How much is the profit?
Profit in this case:10MA (cost of goods sold = 35MA, gross revenue: 45MA).
Profit margin: Varies per pet - but can stretch up to 25-35%
Why? Both 35MA and 45MA for the UR Flower Dragon are "fair" as they fall within the range of worth for the pet, albeit bearing a 10MA gap. 10MA is equivalent to 2,000 - 3,000c$ (stretch to 3,500c$).
How do you find someone to buy low, but at a fair price?
When trading for the pet, experienced traders reach out to users who rely on 'The Is This a Fair Trade Thread', role-play forums, free-adoption forums and the off-site players. These users tend to have a less-developed level of familiarity with the CS trading system, including the percentage of likelihood that a pet which ranges in value from 35-45MA settles in successful trades across this spectrum in value.
Method 2: Flipping through "fair" trade-downs
Rate of return (aka profit margin): 75%
Difficulty: Medium - HighRule: 1 non = 10MA.
xxsxxx1 non = 2,000c$ - 2,500c$
xxxsxx1 MA = 300-350c$
Instructions
Step 1: Person A buys a 1 non pet for 2,400c$ (value based on current - 31 December 2024 C$ Buy and Sell Thread).
Step 2: Person A trades the 1 non pet to Person B for 10x MA's, or 4x 0.25 non.
Step 3: Person A sells the ten MA's for 300-350c$ each, or the 0.25 non for 800c$ (based on current C$ Buy and Sell Thread offers as per 31 December 2024).
Step 4: Rinse and repeat![]()
How much is the profit?
Profit: 1,000 c$ - 1,500 c$
Rate of return (aka profit margin): 75%
Break-down of figures:
xxxsxxCost of Goods Sold: 2,000 to 2,500c$
xxxsxxGross Revenue: 3,000 - 3,500 c$+
xxxsxxNet Yield: 1,000c$ - 1,500c$+
Both these values are "fair" as they fall within the range of worth for the pet, albeit bearing a 10MA gap. 10MA is equivalent to 2,000 - 3,000c$ (stretch to 3,500c$).
Where do you find nons to flip?
Less active users who do not have a profound degree of familiarity on rarities can be found at:- C$ Buy and Sell Thread (rare drop)
- Converting c$ to gems at a 1:5 ratio (see method 3 below for additional profits) and buying pets directly through FR / CWP (common - uncommon drop)
- People who rely on the 'Is This a Fair Trade Thread' and the 'How Much Is This Pet Worth in c$' thread (common - uncommon drop)
Best time to fish for these users: CS Advent > October - November (Halloween Event) > Summer Event
Method 3: Flipping through Off-Site Trade Currency Exchange Rates
For simplicity, this explanation will be positioned in the context of FR (Flight Rising) offsite trades. A similar approach can be taken for other permissible off-site games.Rule: 1 non = 10,000 gems
xxsxxx1 MA = 1,600 gems (most common figure. Anything below this is generally considered "cheap" for flipping.
xxsxxxBased on USD values, 1 c$ is equal to 5.9 FR gems ('5.9g'), or 5,900 gold treasures ('5,900t')
xxsxxx In practise, a great conversion rate is 1c$ : 5g (as gems can be earned for free).
xxsxxx However, people usually sell c$ to gems at 1 c$ : 4 g. People buying c$ with gems tend to ask for 1 c$ : 3.75g.
Option 1: Direct Gem Exchange - Buy Low, Sell High
Step 1: Convert your c$ to gems at a higher ratio than the one which you sell for.
Profit Margin: Very minimal (5-6.25% yield)
Difficulty: Very High
Option 2: Buy Underpriced High-Demand Rares to Flip
Profit Margin: Huge potential (50% to 500% yield)
Difficulty: Easy
Step 1: Familiarise yourself with the rares that are highly sought-after (guide here), and market prices (through trade histories here, or by visiting C$ shops in the CS Trades Thread). Some pets tend to sell for higher than what the Horror's guide provide (one clear example is the Gacha dog which sells very easily at 350c$ albeit the price on the List).
Step 2: Buy them for gems off people who either are unaware of the demand, or which are willing to sell them according to the lower margin on the list. For example, Gacha Dogs at 400-500 gems (or lower!) (equivalent to 80 c$ - 100c$), Fae Foxes at 200 g -250 g (equivalent to 50c$), cocoon puppy at 150 g - 200g (equivalent to 30 c$ - 40c$).
Step 3: Flip for higher.
Step 4: Rinse and Repeat.
Option 3: Laundry Cycle - Buying non's through FR gems to trade down
Rate of return (aka profit margin): 100%
Difficulty: Medium - High
Step 1: Convert 2,000 - 2,500 c$ to 10,000 FR gems.
Step 2: Purchase X non of pets at 10,000g per non.
Step 3: Apply the step 1 - 2 under Method 2 to produce 10MA.
Step 4: Re-sell each MA for 1,600 gems.
Step 5: Convert 1,600g to 350$ - 450c$.
Step 6: Rinse and repeat![]()
How much is the profit?
Profit: up to 2,000c$
Rate of return (aka profit margin): 100%
Break-down of figures:
xxxsxxCost of Goods Sold: 2,000 to 2,500c$
xxxsxxGross Revenue: 3,500 - 4,000 c$
xxxsxxNet Yield: 1,000c$ to 2,000c$

Method 4: Trading down MAs for bulk OMGSC - EUCs, and re-selling these quantities individually
Do you think c$ shops are "cheap" when they sell EUC's at 2C$ - 3c$?
Do you think c$ shops are cheap when they sell at 4 pets for 1c$?
Do you think people will kindly trade down their 1MA stores (e.g. 2015 store deers) for any 250 - 300 EUC / any 1,800 pets?
The answer is NO! This is how c$ stores profit![]()
Level of difficulty: Medium - Low (a lot of people are not aware of this loophole as of yet).
Profitability: Exceptionally High
Profit Margin: 100% - 450%Instructions
Step 1: Purchase a 1MA pet for 300 - 350c$
Step 2: Name the pet - For X EUC / X Pets / X VUC's
Step 3: Set up your C$ shop in the CS Trades Forum Board, and advertise yourself as trading down lists to commons & uncommons.
Step 4: Re-sell each EUC at 4c$.
Step 5: Once sales slow down, sell them at 3c$. If stuck - liquidate at 2c$.
Step 6: Rinse and repeat once you have enough c$ to buy another MA.
How much is the profit?
Rate of return (aka profit margin): 400%
Break-down of figures:
xxxsxxCost of Goods Sold: 200c$ (see trading down method 2 above) - 350c$ (1MA)
xxxsxxGross Revenue: up to 1,400c$
xxxsxxNet Yield: 600 - 1,200c$

Method 5: Trading new stores/old rares for bulk newer rares
Do you think people will kindly trade a new store for 6 rares?
Do you think people will kindly trade a 2010 rare for 4 young rares?
The answer is NO! This is how c$ stores profit[/b]
Level of difficulty: Low (a lot of people are not aware of this loophole as of yet).
Profitability: Low - Medium
Profit Margin:Instructions:
Step 1: Purchase a set of stores for 100c$ in the CS Shop.
Step 2: Assuming that it comes in a set of four, your cost of goods sold is 25c$ per store.
Step 3: Set up your C$ shop in the CS Trades Forum Board, and advertise yourself as trading down stores to any six rares.
Step 4: Sell each rare cheap for 7c$ (According to the CS Horror Trading Guide, rares are priced up to 8c$ each).
Step 5: Once sales slow down, lower the price to 6c$, and 5c$. Remember, your cost for each rare is 4.25c$.
Step 6: If you absolutely cannot sell each rare, then liquidate them to mass buyers who purchase any rares for 5c$ each.
Step 7: Rinse and repeat once you have enough c$ to buy another set in store.
How much is the profit?
Rate of return (aka profit margin): 20 - 68%
Level of Difficulty: Easy
Break-down of figures:
xxxsxxCost of Goods Sold: 100c$ (set of 4 store pets de minim)
xxxsxxGross Revenue: 120-168c$
xxxsxxNet Yield: 20c$ - 68c$
