I used to be jealous of rare/VR hoards when I first started, I will admit! But over time I guess I just got over it and stopped caring about what other people are doing. The key is to not feel entitled ;)

I have two high-rarity hoards now: one is VR (the African Wild Dogs) and one recently got updated to ER (the bubble advent AKA pale pink blue spotted advent).

In general my hoards just make me happy. I have a connection to each pet I hoard for various reasons! And idk, I'd rather get more of what I love as opposed to amassing a bunch of other pets I don't even like.

I think as long as you're willing to trade to users who are missing them for their collection, even if for some overpay it's no big deal!

Honestly i think depending on the species rare and vr hoards aren't that big a deal.

I'll admit i get frustrated at list hoards, especially for ones I'm seeking but as long as the user isn't being greedy and will trade (Again! Even for a loy of overpay!) To keep the pets in circulation it's fine!

I don't understand this mindset. why are other users more entitled to a pet I love and enjoy and paid fairly (or overpaid usually) for though? no one Needs any specific pet, they can Want one but it's not like your account gets deleted if you don't get a certain pet by X date or whatever. I find it ironic and not gonna lie, rather mean that you say I'm a greedy person when it's other users demanding they "deserve" my pets more. :\

I've been seeing a lot more anti-hoarder mindsets during the event too and it's tiring. They always come out of the woodwork when I want to trade actively, I swear. It can be very disheartening to read but usually I will still try to trade them anyway. Half the time people will check and cancel, but other times they will just do the trade anyway. It helps that I often provide overpay if it's something I really love.

The worst though is when I don't realize someone is anti-hoarder and the fair/over-pay trade I sent gets cancelled with a passive aggressive note (half the time I don't read a lot of people's rules b/c why would I when I can just trade fair so that's my bad I guess). That just feels mean-spirited.

I think what people don't understand about hoarding (or refuse to acknowledge) is that, no matter the rarity/popularity/etc. of our hoard pets...we still have to trade fairly for each and every one we have. Those OMGSR List hoarders? Traded for each and every one of those pets fair and square. From the lowest OMGSC to the rarest of the rare pets on the site, hoarders trade just like everyone else. Often for overpay, often for pets that most people DON'T EVEN WANT, and often while getting harassed because they dared to offer on more than one of some rat or pony or whatever that the owner forgot about while it sat rotting in their trade folders.

I honestly don't like the mentality that if you aren't willing to trade even one of your Rare+/List/etc. hoards that you're selfish, greedy, or that it's wrong. Again, we traded fairly for the pets we have. Yes it's frustrating when someone has 10+ of the pet you want and have none of. But you are not entitled to someone's pets. No user (hoarder or not) is required to trade their pets with you.

Most players will NEVER get a complete collection, if only for the fact that Store Pets exist. I myself literally gave up on that dream years ago and switched exclusively to hoarding; do you know HOW MANY PETS that put back into circulation?? How many pets I STILL push out because I only keep what I like and trade everything else?? I get the frustration, but no one ever seems to acknowledge these last two points.

Please understand that I'm not trying to be rude or antagonistic. I'm just trying to explain how I see it. I understand the frustration and have felt it from time to time myself. But I honestly feel like just doing your best to achieve your own dreams and ignoring what makes you upset is healthier in the long run. It's a pet site. They're pixels. It's not worth getting aggravated at strangers over.

I will say that some people are very mean to hoarders, and they low-key scare me xD
though I do get the frustration, especially when people hoard stores because they don’t get rereleased x,D there didn’t seem to be as many “list” hoarders around when I joined vs now, but everyone still traded fairly for their pet so I don’t see an issue with it c:

I do tend to stick to extremely uncommon and below hoards though because I think it’d just make me feel guilty otherwise because I am a pretty soft/sensitive person x,D I have some rares in my hoards but they’re general hoards like lions, so it’s not a specific outcome! I am also one of the hoarders who will trade my hoard pets for wl/small overpay to someone who needs it for their collection and I’m not quite sure I understand how people can’t do that, but I think it’s well within their rights to say their hoards are nft!

I never understand how mean people can be to hoarders though, frustration and refusing to trade a specific pet to a hoarder that hoards that pet I do understand because the cs economy is rough nowadays, especially for demand pets but I do not think that warrants some of the nasty comments people make :,D especially when most hoarders hoard common/low demand pets!

I think I feel mostly sorry for newer players when it comes to hoards, because there’s quite a few people on cs who are either just absolutely minted irl and can buy c$ for days or have somehow cracked the cs economy and become rich that way, because some of the offers I see for hoard pets are absolutely insane and part of me finds it hilarious, but the other part of me feels sorry for the poor new players who are never going to be able to compete with it.

I started hoarding them because balto is my partner’s favourite film so they remind me of him, but the Grey outcome with the tan harness has been a nightmare for some people to get so I feel a bit guilty for having like, 11? Of them..
I did advertise buying the pups for 1c$ and litter swaps for other event litters so I’m glad to say most of them were offered to me, instead of me seeking them out, which eases the guilt a bit more x,D

I will say that I am noticing anger towards hoard trading alot more recently, I’m trading for hoard pets for someone else’s hoards for an auction so I’m doing a lot of bulk trades, and I think that’s put me on some anti hoarder radar x,D usually I trade very laid back for my hoards, but since there’s a deadline I’ve been going pretty hard and that has definitely earned me some remarks cx I thought more people were okay with hoarding but actually I think a lot of people just didn’t realise I did hoards because my trades are typically small.

I will have to politely disagree here. None of my hoard pets are up for trade, even for overpay. They are kept in locked groups for a reason; no one who trades with me will know they exist in the first place unless they go digging through my profile.

If I traded away a hoard pet to every collector who's missing one from their collection, then I wouldn't have a hoard. That person could just trade with someone else who has the pet UFT.

Just because someone has a hoard doesn't mean that others are entitled to their pets, for any amount of payment. That's a very greedy mindset in of itself in my opinion.

I had originally planned to take a break from hoarding when I came back (mostly because the ones I had going don't interest me as much anymore), and trade off the majority of all but two, but this months 2nd gen litter is tempting me. I love them all so much. Although I can't decide if I wanna do just PPS, PPS and adult , PPS and the smiling adult (my fave two of the bunch), or the litter as a whole

I hoard. I have fun hoarding. I mostly rely on the pound, so I remove assorted commons from clogging up the pound. I also buy them with chicken dollars. So I buy C$ with my real money and help someone else out who needs C$.

Whenever I see anti-hoard language in someone's trade rules, I block them. So I never accidentally trade with them and they can't accidentally trade with me.

Hoarding is fun! Never feel embarrassed by it!

On the topic above I myself have been blocked and sent rude comments as well by anti hoarders as well ( I usually just block them back n move on ) but as also stated above it’s really hard to work towards just a simple one of every pet collection so I just focus on trading for pets and items I really like ( though I am trying for a complete item collection at the moment .. anyways ) hoarding makes me happy cause yay I’m making trades getting more pets I like even though I already have it then I can dress them all up completely differently n such for me that’s what’s fun and I love working on having a world record which is also hard work but totally fun to achieve and it keeps me interested and having fun on the site and yea I do hoard extremely rare and extremely high demand pets and no I’m not trading them I worked hard and overpayed for most of them ( maybe at some point I will trade some and some times I randomly do put some of them out for trade but not often ) and as also stated above people need to remember this is just a pixel site no need to get all worked up over it all as one of my friends likes to say don’t yuck others Yums just cause you don’t like something doesn’t ment you have to take it out on others who do any ways rant aside ( sorry for the long rant and I don’t mean any attack or anything towards any one )

I have to agree. I recently broke it down, but I used to hoard the skelly pps. I probably had 35 or more? It's kind of disheartening to know that if I had them unlocked, I might come across trades like this. I keep all of my groups locked that I don't want to trade and like not zinnia said, I wouldn't trade them. I stand firm in the belief that there is enough pets to go around regardless of how much I hoard. There are thousands and thousands of users on CS and rereleases included, there are TONS of valuable pets. No sense in making someone not feel good about having a bunch of the same pet when that's the sacrifice they make vs someone else's assortment of different pets. It's silly.

Hoarders have to go through the same amount of effort to find that pet...

on the topic above - don't let others make you feel bad about hoarding. there is no rules about how to play this game, you can play it however you like and if you wanna hoard, then hoard whatever you want. if you have the funds to hoard very valuable pets then i don't see why it'd be an issue, it's not like every player is hoarding the same pet and many don't even want every popular pet on the site.
you can't see from my profile or rules that i'm a hoarder so if people i trade with that are anti-hoarding go out their way to check my locked groups to see if i'm a hoarder, that's not my issue lol. let me play this game however i want.
i also stumble upon random users sometimes that have me blocked (i think because of me being a hoarder but idk) but i don't care at all because i also block people over trades, mostly because of things i don't understand, like cancelling an ID swap of a recent common pet or because they're being rude. hoarding is a lot of work, especially if you do checkerboard hoards or hoards of rare+ pets so everyone who does that has my full respect. my hoards are locked because i put a lot of work into them and i never trade them away.
