Peanut returns to The Arcats' camp with a strange kitten. She tells everyone his name is Cashew and that she found him outside. Joystick is feeling a little overwhelmed by the amount of young cats flooding the group recently, but it would make her an awful leader if she refused a kit, so she allows Cashew to join with Peanut looking after him.
In other news, Solar and Lunar are old enough to start training with the other Mario Karts. She gathers the group and officially makes the two cats apprentices, giving Solar to Whistle to train, and Lunar to Toes. She feels that Whistle would like a quieter cat as an apprentice, and she doesn't trust Peanut or Mudcake enough to train Lunar, so Toes was the only other option. Mudcake doesn't look too happy about this decision.
... and when Mudcake is brought aside by Kween to discuss her rude behaviour to the leader, she's very happy to explain everything. She has an entire list of problems, which get cut off by Kween's icy-cold glare. She explains to Mudcake that if she does not like Joystick as a leader, then she is perfectly welcome to leave the group. Mudcake doesn't say anything, but looks grumpily at the ground.
Joystick and Kween are outdoors, walking side by side. The two walk in silence for a long while before Kween looks back at Joystick and asks if she's alright. Joystick takes a deep breath, and finally spits it out. Joystick explains that she really likes Kween- really really like her, a lot, how she's always standing up for her, how- but Kween cuts her off, asking her if she really wanted to be mates with her, she could just say so. Joystick is caught a little off guard by Kween's response, but after a small chuckle, asks her properly if she would like to become her mate, to which Kween agrees.
