new to cs, any tips?

hi! i joined mid november and am unsure why so many trades (probably around 50-60%, but it feels like more) i suggest lately get rejected. to be clear, i understand the written rules on how to trade and how to adopt, and my partner has been helping me with rarities and event pets, but i can’t help but feel that theres unspoken rules and attitudes on here that i don’t understand yet. i’m currently trying to read the guides on here and the wiki, but i've noticed that many of them are out of date or missing information. here are some of the questions i’ve got but can’t find an answer:

1- is there a place like the archive, but it has names of all the released pets (along with images?)

2- is there a preferred or standardized way of sorting pets, aside from rarity?

3- is there an up-to-date list with all the species?

i’m by no means struggling, and am still having lots of fun playing, but i figured i’d ask around. if you have any tips, suggestions, or rules i’ve ought to know, please tell me, i’d love to know!

1. i'm 100% there's a user-made guide of pet names, i'll edit the link here once i find it! in the meantime this guide has a list of pet names by species under "cs pet names and naming help". there are also plenty of other useful guides in that post, though some might be slightly outdated, but you should be able to find answers to all of your questions there.

2. as far as i know there isn't really a standard for organizing pets, it's mainly up to personal preference. personally, i organize my collection pets by species and organize my trading groups by value. i have my higher value pets in one group, rares and up in another, and everything under rare is broken up into groups based on how much c$ i want to sell them for. in my opinion it's also good to keep pets you don't want to trade in locked groups.

3. the archive should have all of the species listed, aside from species edited from existing linearts. some aren't categorized seperately in the archive, like frogs for example since they're heavily edited pps chameleon lineart. here's a guide i found of pets with lineart edits, the ones edited to look like other species are in there as well.

trading can be hard sometimes, i've definitely run into the same thing where all of the trades i send out get canceled even though they're perfectly fair. it really boils down to everyone's personal preferences with trading, since everyone values pets differently and plays differently. if you use discord i can pm you a link to a cool server i'm in, everyone there is really nice and helps me out with trading a ton!

and yes, all players on here can agree that trading can be quite the challenge! persistence is definitely key, as long as you put the effort in results will come 100%. i highly recommend the discord too, i'm in the same one hehe, and i have learned a lot from there and everyone is awesome.

another thread i recommend if you haven't checked it out yet is the "How much is this pet worth?" thread. you can ask to get the name and value of the pet you're looking for. it's also nice to browse through and you can def pick up some names that way.
