Does "cake / pastry" fall under the "design" or the "theme" hoard?
It doesn't have one and the same design on every pet so my thought is that it's a theme hoard, but I still wanted to ask.

Sounds more like theme to me. Design is usually a shared design repeated multiple times over different pets.
