That sounds really good what you got there, this set up^-^ wow nice!! and great you found a good poultry/bird vet who did help you nicely from sound of it... ,they are sure worth it to find and keep them

Do you got something like kwik stop styptic power in your first aide kit? People say it can be good for bleeding claws/nail..

Egg bound, ...great that she got healed from it does this happen often...every chicken possible or happens to some breeds more often..? Did read here and there about it, but not how to not to get this...like the right minerals or vitamine...grit..or something...?: may have over looked it..

I believe it is more commonly found in breeds of high egg production such as Leghorns, Sex-linked Hybrids, Rhode Island Red, Sussex, Barred Plymouth Rock, and New Hampshire Reds. It can be caused by lack of calcium, obesity, large or misshapen eggs, infection, premature laying, lack of exercise, or malnutrition. Our hen wasnt eating the oyster shells we feed them and therefore had no calcium for her egg. The vet gave her liquid calcium shots (weird right?!) and she layed the egg 36 hours later

Favorite poultry bird: Brahamas, Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, RIRs, Mystic Marans, Black Austrolorps, Ameraucana, and Olive Eggers. Golden Laced Wyandottes, and our queen Henny Penny (a pardoned meat bird).
Other: I never knew how much I could love a turkey! <3 We have a pardoned broad breasted white turkey (Mayflower, aka Toodles) who imprinted on us and we on her <3. She is loyal, grumpy, and the best watch "dog" ever!
Mayflower also appears in my avatar. C: And our whole flock is in my stamp collection!
