I was a huge fan of CS like 8 years ago but eventually life got in the way and yada yada. I recently decided to pop back in and see about coming back and naturally I have a huuuge gap in pets! I'm still working on adding pets post-2017 to my WL, but overall I'm trying to backfill as many of the monthlies and event pets that I missed as possible!
I have maybe 1000 or so non-event pets in my trade folders, many being uncommon or rarer. The vast majority are from 2016 or earlier, although I popped in a couple times in 2017 and 2018 it seems so there are a few stragglers from those years in there.
With such huge time gaps and the new rarity system, I need to refresh myself on trading values and such, so bigger or more high value trades may take me a second to reply.
Tips and notes:
*RARITY and DATES matter to me.* A 2023 very uncommon isn’t worth as much as a 2013 very uncommon. I don’t think I’m super stingy about it but I just want to be clear
1) For months/events etc. where I managed to adopt sets, direct swaps for littermates with the same rarity are an easy yes.
2) As of right now, I'm comfortable with making 1:1 rarity swap within a given year so I'll be able to reply quickly to those.
3) I’m not keen on trading down unless it’s decent overpay on your side. I have a LOT of pets I’m needing to get so I can’t afford to give up all my Very and an extremely uncommons for pets of commons and below unless it’s crazy bulk
3) I'm much more hesitant to do trades on my rares until I can do more investigation into the values. I'm pretty unlikely to trade my rares for bulk lower-rarities unless there is significant overpay.
4) I LOVE Halloween/cryptids/anything spooky or horror-y. Offering pets with this theme will really boost a trade (and you’ll be my best friend)
For now I’m going to set some tentative date math as a guideline. It’s isn’t necessarily the end all be all but hopefully it can help give some guidance.
4 year difference = 2x value. So one 2013 Extremely uncommon = two 2017 extremely uncommons, or four 2021 Extremely uncommons.
I’m still figuring out the rarity values but I’m not likely to accept a 1:1 trade down. Doesn’t have to be exactly 2:1 but I mean there is definitely a difference between value across rarities.
